If you haven't done so already, you should review their bigger (biggest) hit, "So into You." That one is about loving someone else, for sure...and it is even more soulful.
Need to check out So Into You, Spooky, Champagne Jam and Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight. Yes the song means what it means. Doesn't bother me at all. There not the first and weren't the last. Cyndi Lauper had a huge hit with She Bop. Just don't get so wrapped up in it.
These guys were on a steady play rotation on the radio in the 70's.They have a lot of hits from the 70's,really good catalog of southern rock.ARS are still performing now, they are actually playing in Rome GA. in a few days.Rome is about 70 miles north of Atlanta.
The Atlanta Rhythm Section is such a great Southern Rock band. They formed in 1970 in Doraville, GA. Check out "Spooky", "So into You" and "Do it or Die."
I never really thought about the songs meaning. All I know is if you and some friends smoke some weed and this comes on the radio, the room goes silent. Great song for your "When I'm Stoned" playlist.
They were the house band at CW Shaws on Buford Hwy in Atlanta in the late 70s , early 80s. Use to see em every weekend. Listen to Doraville. Another hit. Last saw em at the Fish festival in Destin. A friend, Karl Probst , was playing keyboards, and sang American Band, for Mark Farner ( Grand Funk ) on his world tour in 2008. TH-cam Mark Farner live in Moscow, American Band. Karl passed a few years ago. What a great memory. Thanks !
Speaking of songs you never thought you'd hear with this subject matter....you should definitely give a listen/reaction to the Divinyls 1990 hit "I Touch Myself". I'd recommend watching the original video (there are countless covers by other artists), and then watch the abbreviated version/scene from the "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" movie.
Everything about ARS was amazing. This is what entertainment was all about. Consider the elements that are consistent among all the music from the 1970s. The music was creative, layered, complex and tonal (wide use of notes). The vocals were the same. Very often, the singers played instruments while they sang. Lyrics were great stories and had content (as opposed to a few sentences repeated over and over). That's why these songs have lasted 40 to 50 years, and will likely outlive us all. :-D
I played in an all funk band. We played this song and so into yo. When those came on there was literally panties left on the floor. Great time for a ‘20 something. You can’t mess with good funk. You going downtown boy!!
It’s absolutely what you think it’s about. No need to over-think it. Pretty sure we’ve all had our private, midnight fantasies particularly when we were adolescents. But what did you think of Ronnie Hammond’s vocals and Barry Bailey’s bluesy guitar ? Dean Daughtry hammers out really bluesy stuff on his piano too. The ARS simply got it when it came to blues oriented rock and roll. They made Atlanta proud.
Nope, you dead on! The best song about onanism you will ever hear! It goes well thematically with Billy Joel's " Sometimes A Fantasy," which I enjoyed for many years before I actually paid attention to the lyrics! I still enjoy it, of course, but now I know, y'know? 😁 4:29 Ooo, well done! No spit takes from you today!
LMAO - nope, you got it, girl: that's EXACTLY what the song's about 🤣. There was a kinda on/off "game" in the 1960s and '70s where bands would try to get a song about taboo subjects out which kids would get but parents/teachers/politicians would be oblivious to. Bit of a difference to today, when songs like WAP go out and everyone just shrugs. Speaking of songs like this, another one you should check out is Pictures Of Lily by The Who.😉
When this song came out, people didn't speak about, umm, self-service, in public. It didn';t start showing up in general entertainment until almost 20 years later. This song comes close, but I always understood it to be about an emotional lover, not a recreational one.
Still waiting to hear you Boz Skaggs Look what you done to me Live version . Can’t wait to see your face when the back up singers at the end of the song.
Had my first date with this girl and this song came on. She says those boys need to get girlfriends. I'm now thinking this is going a fun date. Nope the date was more like a Foreigner song cold as ice. Probably have to see is Rosey Palm is available! I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so. Check that song out Britt You will really blush.
Please do some more of THE WARNING The girls are turning up heat and rocking the planet big time... Hell you call a dream liv at the Pepsi center cdmx. or Automatic Sun (studio version) released 3 day's before the Eclipse Thanks
If you haven't done so already, you should review their bigger (biggest) hit, "So into You." That one is about loving someone else, for sure...and it is even more soulful.
Yeah, Georgia Rhythm ,Champagne Jam, and so into you 👍
Britt will definitely be diggin this one. It’s a sure thing.
@@Cabbagepatch790 I think they did a cool cover of "Spooky", too.
@@franksamara1815 yeah they were where really good! I enjoyed the Marshall Tucker review as well 👍take care brother
You have got to listen to their song, Spooky! Amazing guitar solo!!! The whole song is FIRE!!!!
It was a cover of the Classics IV hit. Classics IV ended up turning into the Atlanta Rhythm Section. So basically, they were covering themselves.
I 2nd the request for Spooky. So good!😊
lol.. the part where they were singing “satisfaction guaranteed” as you were taking a drink.. classic! 😂
This song is ABSOLUTELY about self gratification.
While imagining about his dream girl
You hit gold here. These guys are a hidden gem, very underrated.
"So into You." is a great song.
I don’t recall ever thinking it being about that until now.
Yes. The Atlanta Rythm Section was from Doraville.
That list of their great tunes during that time is sooooo good❤
I was 12 years old when this song came out and I loved it, I have the 45 of this record. The meaning may have went over my head. 😂😂
I was 19 and just got Married, I also bought the 45 new

Atlanta Rhythm Section is one of my favorites! They have many great songs. I listen to them a lot at work, the music is just gorgeous!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
The Atlanta Rhythm Section is such a great Southern Rock band. They formed in 1970 in Doraville, GA. Check out "Spooky", "So into You" and "Do it or Die."
Do you know the band which evolved into ARS? Hint: "Stormy", "Spooky", "Traces" (one of my favs, esp. Gloria's cover)
I never really thought about the songs meaning. All I know is if you and some friends smoke some weed and this comes on the radio, the room goes silent. Great song for your "When I'm Stoned" playlist.
I thought you were gonna spit your water all over the camera..."satisfaction guaranteed!" 🤣 Good 'ole Georgia boys.

SO INTO YOU is another great song by ARS.
These guys were the most underrated southern rock bands of all time.
Same subject, listen to Turning Japanese by The Vapors.
Another hit song by ARS is I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight.
Love this band. I saw them play at a convention in Atlanta about 25 years ago (don't know how many of the classic lineup were still in the band).
Its about what its about. Atlanta Rhythm Section is fire though. So into you, Champaign Jam, dog days, Homesick all flame.
Oh girls really loved them a lot
Brit it is exactly what you think and it is groovy from the 70's or early 80's.
Darlin.. don’t ever change! ♥️👍
I love me some ARS. Champagne Jam (1978) is an awesome album.
Self-gratification is the subject!
"So into You" is fabulous and "Spooky. " ❤❤❤❤
1st time seeing you with a Pink Flyod shirt on. LOVE IT !!!!
: ) You gave me the biggest smiles! Everyone on this planet had those types of rendezvous at one time or another!
Great Band!!! Great tune!!!
Yes it is! The best lovers you can have! I have a few of them myself. Everyone does but few admit it! 😁😎
Everything about ARS was amazing. This is what entertainment was all about. Consider the elements that are consistent among all the music from the 1970s. Great song!
HI BRITT! 😊GR888888 SONG AND YOU SHOULD DO THEIR BIGGEST HIT BY FAR : SO INTO YOU 👍 HAVE A BLESSED REST OF THE DAY!
I can see you blushing from ear to ear!🤣🤣😂😂👍👍
I would really love for you to react to “Still the One” by Orleans.
I played in an all funk band. We played this song and so into yo. When those came on there was literally panties left on the floor. Great time for a ‘20 something. You can’t mess with good funk. You going downtown boy!!
Great group, great song writing, great mood music.
It’s absolutely what you think it’s about. No need to over-think it. Pretty sure we’ve all had our private, midnight fantasies particularly when we were adolescents. The ARS simply got it when it came to blues oriented rock and roll. They made Atlanta proud.
Yes,this is a VERY literal song.
Another song on this same topic but from a more female perspective is Cyndi Lauper's "She Bop" (which is also a total jam).
I love you and your reactions, Britt!
Yep, Britt. You hit it on the head😏
Nope, you dead on! The best song about onanism you will ever hear! It goes well thematically with Billy Joel's " Sometimes A Fantasy," which I enjoyed for many years before I actually paid attention to the lyrics! I still enjoy it, of course, but now I know, y'know? 😁
4:29 Ooo, well done! No spit takes from you today!
Spooky was a big hit!
My favorite!!!!
Now you have to listen to Jackson Browne's, "Rosie", and yep that is what he's talking about.
Speaking of songs like this, another one you should check out is Pictures Of Lily by The Who.😉
So Into You is a good song by this group. One that is NOT about committing self abuse lol
Interesting vibe to this song.
When this song came out, people didn't speak about, umm, self-service, in public. It didn';t start showing up in general entertainment until almost 20 years later. This song comes close, but I always understood it to be about an emotional lover, not a recreational one.
One of your best reactions🔥 Britt 😊😉❤
Love this one!
**** ARS is a class act in every way. Tasty, Pretty and yet with tremendous musical chops.
Another great song of theirs is Doraville
So into you or Spooky are great by them too
Atlanta Rhythm Section
Large Time
Homesick
Ballad of Lois Malone
It's about exactly what you think it's about!
Is it just me or does anyone else want you to do a complete vocal track? Your voice is near pitch perfect!
Another song about self gratification is "She-bop" by Cindy Lauper.
SO RIGHT🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Diggin your Pink Floyd shirt Brit!🎉
Your next song from ARS needs to be "Not gonna let it bother me tonight"
Possibly the greatest Anthem Song for every lonely person out there !!!!!
Yes self love! If I'm not mistaken they are from Doraville!
In the words of Ferris Bueller, "you can never go to far."
So the whole band agreed to make this a hit 😮😮😮
Remember Paul Simon had the lyric nothing can match my sweet imagination long before this song came out🎶🎶🎶
Billy squire stroke it 😂
"It's quite literal, isn't it?"
Yes.
Check out their version of "Spooky "
Yes, it is about being a master at fishing. To be a master fisher, you must be a master baiter. 😉
You can relive your stress by "listening" to that song rather than on your daughter's toy.
What's freaky is this was a huge hit back in the 1970s!
This was before internet corn and OF so its about what one could fantasize about when alone.
It’s not the only song made about this subject… check out David Bowie’s “I’m turning Japanese “
This is a self serving song!
Champaign Jam next please!
Listen to the Bee Gees too much heaven. You will not be disappointed!!
Still waiting to hear you Boz Skaggs Look what you done to me Live version . Can’t wait to see your face when the back up singers at the end of the song.
I know I'm late to respond but yes, self gratification and yes they are actually from Doraville, Georgia.
Hey Britt way to rock that Pink Floyd shirt !
You need to listen to Billy Joel's "Sometimes a Fantasy" for more of the same subject matter
Check out eminence front by the "Who".. you will be suprised.
That’s what y’all doin down in Atlanta😳😂
My favorite ARS song is Dog Days.
Had my first date with this girl and this song came on. She says those boys need to get girlfriends. I'm now thinking this is going a fun date. Nope the date was more like a Foreigner song cold as ice. Probably have to see is Rosey Palm is available! I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so. Check that song out Britt
You will really blush.
Ahh, Rosey Palm and her five lovely daughters - beloved of teenage boys everywhere...
Try Jackson Brown "Rosie" for a dual-meaning song, one of which is the same song theme as this
Rosie is another good ✋ song by Jackson Browne!
Whole bunch of 👀 from Britt.
😂😂😂
They were known as the Steely Dan of the South
Spot on, girlfriend!!
You must check out So Into You.
Please do some more of THE WARNING The girls are turning up heat and rocking the planet big time... Hell you call a dream liv at the Pepsi center cdmx. or Automatic Sun (studio version) released 3 day's before the Eclipse Thanks
Let's call it a song about self-love.
They were based out of Doraville.
Damn I love seeing that beautiful face show up in my algorithm with a reaction
Need to listen to Jackson Browne song, Rosie..😊 it is about the same thing..
If you like this band. You need to listen to Alan Parsons project.
You are adorable and make my nights peaceful. How do I recommend some songs
