This was one of my favorite southern rock bands, they were so underrated in the southern rock genre. Their album Champagne Jam was pretty much my intro to southern rock. This was definitely my favorite from that album... and a GREAT dance song!
Great job once again. I'm 66 years old I was a teenager in the 70s so I really love 50s 60s and 70s music. The decade of the 70s was a great time that is what I can remember of it.😂😂😂 keep up the great work!😀
These guys were the session band for Studio One, in Doraville, GA. A very (musically) tight band, as all session players must be. They were all over the radio in the 1970's, but then, I'm from Atlanta, so that is not unexpected. 😀
Don't feel bad. I've been listening to this song for almost 50 years and I just learned today that the lyric was "voodoo in the vibes". I've been singing "voodoo in the back"
I totally forgot all about this song. I was 10 when this came out and my sisters played this all the time. Weird how a song can take you back like that
They were part of the Southern Rock movement in the 70s. Check out "Spooky", "Imaginary Lover", and "Do it or Die." Great band, they were formed in 1970 in Doraville, GA. Their songs were always playing on the radio when I was in high school in the 70s. In the first verse he is saying "there is voodoo in the vibes."
Everytime I hear this great music, it takes me back to when it came out. Being a carefree kid running around town with my friends, playing pinball at the c-store, the arcade in the mall or the bowling alley. Dragging a lawnmower and gas can from house to house looking to make money or working at the carnival when they came to town. And all this great seventies music was our soundtrack. I enjoyed the reaction.
Hi Angela! Great reaction. Speaking of "very sexy songs," I want to put in a request for another Hall & Oates song for you do a reaction to, that I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy. Or not. That's always okay too, because I appreciate that your reactions are honest. The song is "Do What You Want, Be What You Are"(Great title too.) What's cool about this one, is that for some odd reason, this didn't become one of their big hits. And it is just another one of their true "Philadelphia soul" bluesy, soulful, and yes, "sexy" gems. Again, you may or may not agree, but since you love so many of their tunes, it will be fun watching what you think about this classic. Btw, one of my wife's favorite songs is "One on One" and she absolutely LOVED your reaction to that one, and so did I. I realize you likely always have a long list of potential reaction songs. I'm not sure if people provide a link for you when they request, but here's one anyway:
th-cam.com/video/xR1ozlayzk8/w-d-xo.html Thanks Angela. See you next time!
Ronnie Van Zant of Lynrd Skynrd called Ronnie Hammond the best singer he'd ever heard. ARS were studio musicians and engineers. They were the class of southern rock IMO and my fave southern rock band.
I remember this song from being a little boy. For years, I didn't know who the band was. One day I was in a store and heard it and Shazamed it!! The Atlanta Rhythm Section "So Into You"!! It's The Fender Rhodes for Me!! This Joint is Funky!!!!
This is one of several hits from ARS and I agree 💯 this song is very much a vibe not overly sexual just enough for the mind to wander…. Your dancing 💃🏾 was just as incredible as the song 🙏🏻❤️☮️
This is a great song! They also have a couple of other songs I really dig as well! Imaginary Lover & their remake or cover of the song Spooky which I believe was originally done by Classics 4! I am just relying on my memory, that's why I say I believe! I didn't Google it! For some reason, they remind me of the Alt Rock Country group Alabama Shakes! See ya!
Some people criticize Angela because not all songs are her cup of tea. But when I was her age my musical taste were not at all expansive. Guys like Glenn Campbell for example I didn’t like but now at 62 I love. Right now she has vibes she likes and stuff that isn’t her fancy but she explores and is honest.. good song selection 👍
Very sexy song! "Were gonna do this and were gonna put this part in that part and do all this stuff"....That sounds more like putting together IKEA furniture tbh! 🤣 Great reaction Angela, as always! xx
That's not an accurate statement. Others have reacted to their 2 biggest hits.. problem is. Those seem to be the only 2 songs ever requested.. it is like subscribers only know radio hits
Their first hit Doraville was a sweet southern boogie in praise of their hometown - I consider these guys to be the antithesis of say, Lynyrd Skynrd, who were more into the rought and raucous side of Southern living
Yes. "There was voodoo in the vibes." This was a massive radio hit back in the day.
"Imaginary Lover" is another great tune by ARS.
Yes, vibe. Vibes were a big thing in the 70s :). He couldn't catch her eye so he was standing there helplessly, dreaming about her. Great song.
Their version of "Spooky" is really good.
J.R Cobb was a beast on guitar..Such a great tune

I was introduced to ARS in 1977 by my dad. Being from Atlanta, songs like Doraville and Georgia Rhythm just kinda hit home. Great musicians.

Core members were former members of the Classics Four.
Great Angela! ♥
I love your Reggae vibe dance!!
Great song ❤
Don't feel bad. I've been listening to this song for almost 50 years and I just learned today that the lyric was "voodoo in the vibes". I've been singing "voodoo in the back"
Same here lol

Spooky
"Champaigne Jam" is another great song by ARS.
Great song and fantastic band!

Must listen: Spooky. This song always removes me from reality. Enjoyed the reaction.
Love this tune.
Ronnie Hammond was an amazing vocalist
Ronnie Van Zant of Lynrd Skynrd called Ronnie Hammond the best singer he'd ever heard. ARS were studio musicians and engineers. They were the class of southern rock IMO and my fave southern rock band.
Angela, you rock,...FROM SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS
Great choice, I saw ARS in 1977 right after this album came out, ARS opened up for Kansas ..
That had to be a great show.
Got to see ARS in '15..Still sounds great..

They had 2 hits, this one and Imaginary lover, I loved that sound and those guitar work.
I remember this one from the 70's, a really cool groove. The Average White band had a similar sound but perhaps a bit more funky-Colin Ward
This song is my “secret pleasure”!! Check out “Spooky” and “Imaginary Lover”……..also by ARS……
That ending guitar riff is penetrating!
Atlanta Rhythm Section
Spooky
Large Time
Ballad Of Lois Malone
There's another great song titled "So Into You"...but it's an obscure song by Ray Parker Jr. Kinda sappy/simple, but still great in my mind.
The core members of this group started in another group, the legendary Classics IV
Forgot all about this one.........excellent
Nice reaction, you made me smile.😁😁
Very interesting group that were not only Southern Rock pioneers but sort blended Punk Rock into their style(imho)🎼
Love these guys! They have Spooky for confidence. Great players!
This is one of several hits from ARS and I agree 💯 this song is very much a vibe not overly sexual just enough for the mind to wander…. Your dancing 💃🏾 was just as incredible as the song 🙏🏻❤️☮️
56K! The only bad thing about your channel is there isn't enough content. 😀

❤0ne of my favorites
I think they were a session band that went public. I could be wrong.
You're correct...
I’m Not Gonna Let it Bother Me Tonight is another good one.
This was popular on radio here in Toronto. As a 7 year old even I knew this was a great song. Undeniable vibe
great old song I was groovin out to this in my bedroom as a 13y.o when it was new. lol, great old song :)
The singer has that laid back, I'm in no hurry attitude, style. His voice is easy on the ears
Very sexy song! "Were gonna do this and were gonna put this part in that part and do all this stuff"....That sounds more like putting together IKEA furniture tbh! 🤣 Great reaction Angela, as always! xx
Voodoo in the vibes
Thanks, ive been wondering since the song came out
oh yeah! it's go time!!!!
Such a great band with many great songs. Too bad other 'reactionists' overlook this band. Thank you for your reaction.

imigenary lover awesome
Uhh huhh… this was huge. Still sounds great.

You really need to hear Even Now by Barry Mana low if you want to hear a romantic song. Good listening.
Great Reaction and Song !!! Go Angela
A really great song.
Their first hit Doraville was a sweet southern boogie in praise of their hometown - I consider these guys to be the antithesis of say, Lynyrd Skynrd, who were more into the rought and raucous side of Southern living
Good one🌞
Great Band! Do yourself a favor and check out more from them!
Reminds me of Steely Dan.
So true I thought the same 👍
ARS too! LOL
Was this Michael Veach's way of saying how he feels about Angela?
