Thank you Barbie. Your final comment on why the hype on hot flashes and not osteoporosis...I keep thinking that very thing. Since being diagnosed with low bone density, I have studied all I can but your videos have been the most comprehensive and insightful. It's been15 years since menopause set in early, and no one ever discussed this, not even the expert menopause doctor. Thank you!!
I am just so glad you're here getting this menopause education. It's what you deserve. My big dream is for all women to get this education in their 20s! Can you imagine what a difference that would make for women, everywhere, forever?
@@MenopauseTaylor I agree. I'm watching your ball exercise routine and am most impressed. Once the osteoporosis series if finished, I look forward to asking questions via an appointment.
My 7 year old walked in and saw part of this video. He wants me to buy "that cool toy," Dr. Taylor used for demonstration!😂 I told him what looks like a toy is actually a learning tool for us ladies. I'll be checking out the website soon, for sure!
Wow. The human body is such a miracle! We are so lucky that we live in a time when we can understand these natural processes and do things to minimize many of the negative impacts! Thank you!
Yup...I talked about hot flashes back then because I did not know about the association of menopause and osteoporosis. Boy, I do NOW! ...and I tell every woman who makes eye contact with me...whether I know them or not. ☺️ I can’t help myself. 😂 If only this were passed on by each and every one of your students...or they are directed here, to Menopause University. Thank you, Barbie...thank you.
I wonder why we don't get a DEXA at puberty if doctors know this? I certainly did much more depositing when I was young than withdrawal. I was a health nut I was a dancer and martial artist. I had high estrogen. But it was the toxic orthopedic implant that stole my bones! Up until my late 40's I was a personal trainer. This is very eye opening. I wish I would have known this before menopause! Doctors certainly don't tell us and all I ever heard about was hot flashes which I never had. Thank you for this education! I will be sure to pass it on!
In this osteoporosis unit, I am going to tell you everything that you deserve to know! I think it's a crime that women do not get this information . So, this unit consists 35 videos. And I will make sure you know everything.
@@salviaprezzemolo2165 Oh, Salvia, This is such a story, and also such a compliment. I'm so glad that you can tell that I care deeply about you and your future. And I am so eagerly awaiting the day when I get to meet you. Keep compiling questions and issues. I address everything in a consultation.
Men never lose all their testosterone Snd their bone density is as dependent on testosterone as yours is on estrogen. That's why men who have anti-testosterone chemotherapy for prostate cancer get osteoporosis, just like women do.
Here is a crazy question..can menopause cause testosterone dominance ? I gained 50 lbs in perimenopause/menopause ..all around the middle..and its not moving..im vegan and active thank you so much for all your tutorials..im finally back to feeling great with bhrt estrodial cream( 2 weeks so far) ..now just need the weight to move
I love that you do these videos! Thank you!!! I’m in my late 30’s and I’m trying to learn as much as possible about menopause so I’m informed when I go through it. I was anorexic in my teen years and my physician put me on birth control pills specifically to help prevent issues with bone density. Did the birth control pills truly help mitigate the problem in this scenario or is it likely that my “deposits” were still negatively affected?
Danielle, Birth control pills prevent bone loss. And it was a good thing that you took them. You ned a bone density test to determine if your bone quantity was affected. You really should get a bone density test AND schedule a consultation with me. I will make sure you two everything you need to know for now AND for your future. You can schedule at MenopauseTaylor.ME.
My grandma suffered osteoporosis and it was terrifying to witness and completely devastated her final years. Can you please include more information as well on weight lifting to help offset some of the risk? I’ve always wondered how often and what general amount of weight is required to strengthen bones compared to say a gentler form of exercise like walking. Any help with this area would be great and thank you !
Chiara, I will be giving you videos on each and every option for preventing and managing osteoporosis, along with the limitations of each. There are 35 osteoporosis videos in this unit. You just have to watch them in order. And your question implies some things that are not accurate. So, watch with an open mind rather than assuming that what you already think is correct. If you want the very best chance at preventing osteoporosis, schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I'll tailor everything specifically to YOU.
I am 55 and have had osteopenia for 12 years and now osteoporosis. My question is if you had irregular menstrual cycle for a long time on your 20's, is that means you might already have had weak bones?
That's not likely. And your terminology is really not accurate. You are mingling bone"quaNTITY" with bone quaLITY." I don't think you really understand what osteoporosis entails. Please, please, please schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME so that you fully understand this. In a consultation, I can tailor it all specifically tp YOU and make sure you know precisely where you are on the bone density scale, what it means, and help you assess your options. I do all consultations online.
Love this. I have just found you and need to work through your content in order. However, I have a son who will reach puberty in around three years. From your reply below to Laurie Hoer, I understand his bone density is dependent on his testosterone levels. So, I will be mindful to guard against over training, anorexia/bulimia and use of steroids. I assume there is no need to 'boost' his testosterone production, but I wonder if there are any additional measures I could make with regard to his needs. For example with nutrition. How do I keep his hormones in balance now as he approaches into his teenage years?
You are trying to apply what I told you about females to a male. Don't. Females lose all their estrogen. That's what menopause is. Males don't. They do not have a menopause. This is why women are at such high risk for Alzheimer's, but men are not. You will see that you DO NOT have to read between the lines with me. I am very specific and detailed in what I tell you. Just watch the videos in order and you will not have any questions. (If you do have a question, I can assure you that I'll get to it at the appropriate time. Don't let your question get you off-track.)
Do I even count the time on HRT with only .5 Estradiol or less, when determining whether I am in the 5-10 years to start/resume HRT? I was never on high enough dose & have osteopenia.
This is an impossible question for me to answer with the information you've provided. I think you would be best served if you scheduled a consultation. You should do so anyway if you have osteopenia.Do not leave this to chance. I will help you prevent more bone loss. You can schedule at MenopauseTaylor.ME.
And, This is the kind of question that tells me you really, really need this education. It's very simple. Estrogen only prevents bone loss WHILE you are taking (or producing) it. Estrogen loss causes bone loss, period. So, if you take estrogen in an adequate dosage, it will prevent bone loss WHILE you take it. And when or if you stop it, bone loss will begin all over again. Be sure you watch this entire unit .. in order. Schedule a consultation with me any time.
Dr Taylor I love the way you explain everything .But I see that the '' solution'' is to take estrogen to prevent osteoporosis and other diseases that occurs because of the menopause .If I take estrogen isn't a risk for cancer ? Am so afraid and I don't know what to do.I watched all your videos from the beginning till now. Am Greek and is a little difficult for me to express my toughs in English .I want to thank you for everything you do for all the women .
Stella, Schedule a consultation with me. Based on what you've written, I can tell that you have a lot of misinformation. You can schedule at MenopauseTaylor.ME.
This video made me depressed. It seemed as if there ist no solution if you were anorectic in your youth. I don't believe that there is no development anymore. Especially you can even at old age gain bone density through training. I hope there are coming more videos where you describe the possibilities of development? Good luck anyway! Greetings
