  • I've mentioned annealing rifle brass a few times in my earlier videos, so now it's time to show you what I mean, how I do it, and the effect it has. Here's my explanation about annealing and my demo on what I do, and how it changes the properties of the case neck.

    I believe the school of thought on annealing is that if you don't do it long enough and at the right temperature, nothing meaningful happens to the brass. In other words, absent those conditions, you might as well not bother. There's no such thing as "somewhat" or "good enough" in annealing. There is, of course, "too much" in annealing, where component metal (i.e., zinc) in the brass begins to melt. This is my understanding from what I've found online.

    If you dont anneal neck tension is all over the place. This will cause flyers. This is not the way to anneal brass for accuracy.

    You said something like a annealling is not worth the trouble.Just go buy a new case.I don't think so.Nowadays, good idea, try to save money.Shooting is expensive
