- Shows some tips on how to use the Volca Mix that aren't covered in the user manuals. You can power more than 3 Volcas! You can power other Korg products like the Minilogue, Monologue, Electribe 2 Sampler, ARP Odyssey (Korg) etc. I also show how to power the Volca Mix with a batteries!

What is nice about the whole Korg line is that they are easy to sync to clock
Hi Valdis! Indeed, and when you feed one MIDI connection in, the rest can just sync up via the little 3.5mm cables :)
Thank you for the video! Thought I would add that strangely my monologue needs batteries to be powered by the mains charger, so with no batteries inside it doesn't turn on when chained with the volca mix. But once I put batteries in, even very low ones it works fine and doesn't seem to drain the batteries.
Not only are the cables too short, they are not right angle jacks. The folks at Korg didn’t think ahead.
Hey Guitar Overkill! Yeah, they annoy me. I ended up getting myself some longer cables.
ranzee I just bought some right angle adapters.
I make sure everyone unit is wall plugged i stack 2 volca mixers though to minimize inputs in mixer

Thanks for the power supply tip! I also have Electribe, Minilogue and Volca Nubass and i'm currently searching for a mixer to perform with these three devices. The Volca Mix is now my favourite so far!!! 🙂

I have a 5>9 steup cable like yours and just got a cable tip adapter that plugs into 5 volcas.
When power 5 volcas what about inputs still only 4ch? I have 5 volcas...

Cheers! It's a USB to 9V adapter. I got mine from Aliexpress - but they're also on ebay and amazon. As this video was 5 years ago - the link is no longer active.
I was always really poor that Korg made this, so very limited and compromising a unit. I can highly recommend the Vixen Mixer by KVR GEAR. powers mixes mutes and solo's six Volcas and 2 fx inserts..runs on mains or battery and eats this underperforming insult to Korgs customer base. Dont know if he's still making them but people should check it out. theres a couple of short you tubes on it.

Contact Korg - they might be able to send you some more. If not, then try the Sony 1.7mm type DC connectors. You can even get adapters: www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003562388323.html

hi, how long does the battery pack power the volca mix for? Im assuming 'USB DC 5V to DC 9V/12V Step up Module Converter 2.1x5.5mm Male Connector Plus MF' that I found on ebay should do the trick right? do you need that sony adapter head on the cable for it to fit?
Hi rs vp, it depends on what the mAh rating is - the higher that amount, the longer the batter will last for. The one I showed is a 3200mAh. It also depends on what you have plugged into the Volca Mix and powering off it - if it is just other Volcas - they don't draw much (

Hello again, if you would be so kind as to answer another question I have it would be very appreciated. My Kaoss Pad (KP3) has now arrived and I need to buy some cables to attach it to the Volca Mix. I don't suppose you know what the name of these cables are? Is it an some sort of RCA cable? Many thanks!
Can you post links for the usb cable and tip adapter to make the Mix portable?? I plan to use aa’s in my Volcas, Boutiques, and Pocket Operators...but want to make the Volca Mix portable. If the Bastl Dude had input send fx it’d be absolutely perfect..but that’s it’s only limitation. I love the performance aspect of the Volca Mix, but hate being tied down to a wall socket

@@ranzee I have tried two different Volca Mix units with a standard 5v-9v cable and anker battery pack that powers all my other gear without problem. I have purchased several 1.7mm adapters of various kinds and nothing works - I simply can't get my vMix powered by a battery bank. Thus I was so surprised to find you could do it here- If anyone has links to actual cables/adapters that are proven working, please let me know!

You can buy power y cables for guitar pedals. Ought to work.
the cHroNic nOize co. Aren’t those the opposite polarity though?? Like, I think the guitar pedals are negative and the Volcas are positive..or the other way around. I remember this issue when I got my first Volca long ago and I was trying to use a pedalboard to power pedals and Volcas
how do you record track or jam sessions with korg volca mix? Do you plug it to a another mixer and then the mixer to an audio interface?
Cable goes into audio interface and you record in audio

Best way to use this mixer is to use the send into a sampler or DAW..
Why not just sent the line out to the daw?
@bondhawk98 if you haven't a hardware sampler for sure go straight to DAW.

You will overload default power supply that comes with mix and it will get hot and fail prematurely. To do this tricks you need to upgrade mix power supply to higher amperage.
You shouldn't so long as you keep the total AMPs under the PSU value.
Introducing more than one Volca to the mix via the other 2 power supply jacks creates a lot of feedback noise. Better off powering them separately. Actually, better off not using this thing at all.
