i got this mod in satin steel and i'm in love with it! my only negative is that it feels a bit top heavy.. still way better than the plastic any day of the week.. hope they would make a similar mod for the A500 that would be amazing! it has better symmetry with its four buttons and a bit more advanced features and that cool looking mini world map.. that would make a perfect dressy baby royal!
The modified watch looks very good. I am experimenting recently with a few standard models A168, A1000 and B650, with the A1000 giving that similar more premium look, and is full metal, so it is not just the look. I don't know about the specific prices, but a saphire + steel case makes the watch premium, no doubt about that. And on the top of that you can customize your watch to make it more unique and you have much more choice then the standard issues of the watch. Now when I am thinking about it, if I combine the price of these 3 watches I have mentioned I could easily made 1 extra nice watch 😁
I can see how for the right person this could be tremendous fun. If you're into that kind of modding experience then the ease and accessible cost are crucial and not what these watches would have cost originally. Neither the original models nor this modding experience is something I look for. Perhaps that's very unpiratey of me.

Nice to see that the mod can be done in stages as budget permits. Case for christmas, band for birthday, backplate for Father's day.

i got this mod in all silver and i would recommend it to everyone. hope they make one for the casio A500.
as I know, the mod for A500 is on production now.

No doubt that is a smart looking time piece. SKXMods know there's a seriously strong demand for digital watches of quality.

The only question is does your wrist turn green when you wear the gold.
They are pvd coated, which holds up pretty well and takes a long time to fade.
Having a bunch of metal gmw-b5000s, metal 2100 etc, I have a hard time justifying the price despite really wanting one in polished silver.
b5000 and 2100 look more sporty.. this would look nicer in a more formal setting.. there is your justification now go buy one lol

how would you rate the scratch resistance of the gold model after 4 months? Just light daily use, no sport or anything.
