I find hilarious that in the Master Emerald scene, the true Knuckles has the yellow sock error, while the two player Knuckles are normal.
lol. Didn't even spot that.
Wasn't yellow socks the original intent, but they couldn't do it due to technical limitations? (knuckles shares palettes with the background and they needed more green to work with.)
@@KuraIthys Actually, NPC Knuckles's socks interfere with the HUD text color; you can see this in the November 3, 1993 prototype. He's also pinker in cutscenes for some reason. In addition, his shoes gain yellow tips in order to accomodate rings.
@@Brainulator9 he's pinker because since, as you said, knuckles' socks interfere wit the HUD, but also knuckles' colour palette interferes with the HUD. To get around this they made a different colour palette with the pinker knuckles with yellow socks.

They would do that for memory optimization, so it makes sense.

@@ZonicMirage honestly in this day and age that would make so little difference to the performance and memory, however it would never been seen by the player so there was no need to create it, the model designer probably just didn’t draw it.

The anime girl's name is Maki something-or-other from Love Live. Comparing her to Knuckles was popularized by the mashup artist TripleQ (which bled into SiIvaGunner which is that main inspiration for the mod), but I honestly just think that's because she has red hair. Never watched the anime myself.

The weird animations that the "tails" Knuckles plays are because the code is trying to reference tails' flying animation frames, which for the Knuckles sprite data references something completely different (in this case some weird climbing along the floor animation?).
Also, I now can't get rid of the image of Knuckles carrying the other Knuckles by his mighty rod.

There is a problem with Knuckles Knuckles and Knuckles. If you collect a extra life while the invincibility theme is playing the music would mess up and make high pitch noises along with a continued loop of whatever was playing last.

Looks at the Mania mod: Knuckles is totally everywhere. I applaud the creator for the attention to detail used throughout where everything has changed. The voice jingles are a bit much. The UFO stage is not what I had in mind, but what I found amusing was Knuckles running backwards, and at 11:32 "Knuckles Got A Chaos Knuckle" Guess 12:06 is the true 'Oh No!' fail. It was going so well. Looks like it's still a work in progress. The Metal Sonic segment gave me a surprise, but oh dear, it's the old boss. Really liked the Pumpkin Hill edit.
Those poll choices though.
Funny thing. The reason why the Special Stage Knuckles UFO's pupil is not present, it's because the developers did not put in pupils because they knew that they wouldn't be seen in the stage. With some modding, it actually is easily able to put on the pupils.

The pupil-less knuckles model is actually in the game, the model was never intended to be seen from the front, so the developer never molded/textured the pupils

The reason why knuckles was blue underwater is because a problem with the color palettes. This may happen in many regular sonic prototypes.

You know what I'd like to see? A mod for Blue Knuckles in S3&K. A character that looks like blue Knuckles, has Sonic's speed and jump height, but can also glide, climb, & smash walls.

@redhotsonic , The reason why the massive Knuckles "sprites" have no pupils is because they were used for the special stage models. They were seen from the back so it wouldn't matter, except in cool & Knuckles mods and ROM hacks like these.

RHS, Knuckles didn't get pupils to save texture space. They would never show his front, so adding textures would be a waste.
You can tell which Knuckles is the real one in KK&K, because the real one has a brighter tint and the shoes are off colored.
Have you ever played the "Sonic Mania & Sonic" mod for Sonic Mania (Try the Plus version maybe)?
You missed the Sonic 3D Blast music playing in Hydrocity from the Sonic 3 hack.
Don't know why but the character replacing Metal Sonic is Maki Nishikino from the anime Love Live (no I haven't watched anyone trying to shame me). I didn't realize it till Silver Sonic showed up as Nico Yazawa and the machine said "Nico Nii" which is a meme people make as a troll as it's cringe AF. After looking back at it, it actually says "Maki" when Metal first appears as well. Don't know why they put that in a Knuckles mod, but whatever.
You'll be pleased to find out that KJnuckles Mania and Knuckles has been converted to plus and now every zone is complete
