I moved to the Philippines a few years back and just purchased one of these Carry's about a month ago. We purchased some property high up in the mountains where there are no roads and these little trucks go just about any place. I couldn't get up the mountain with my Toyota suv. But this little thing just climbs. Even in the mud! It's stock right now but soon lift kit, wheels and a winch.
My father. In law had one of them in the uk. He used it for delivering milk. I remember once filling it with milk crates and then having a puncture on a dark farm track. No lights 4 am. I had to take the full load off to change the tyre then re-load it as the jack was too small to lift with load. Those trucks can take a lot of stick. We used to fill it to the top of the cab with milk on a Saturday when we doubled up. He didn’t deliver Sunday.
Look after it and it will last a long time.
I use to have a suzuki forsa back in the day (1988). I had trouble starting it in -20 and lower temperatures, it just wouldn't turn over fast enough. But then I bought a battery blanket, which plugs in like a block heater. No more problems starting in cold weather ever again!

Great video. Constructively, the stereo being on distracts from what buyers want to see and hear. I never even power up the radio when test driving used vehicles.

They make battery warming “blankets” that help out a bunch too.
battery sits outside...perhaps a battery heat wrap helps a ton.

@@frankcastle8090 that was from a dealer. i imagine you could save a few grand if you get a few people together to fill up a shipping container with these. from the japanese sites i've looked at you could get them starting at around 2-3k usd.
how that wheels compare to originals in fuel millage ?

I get quite the amp draw with defroster going and headlights, sometimes at stopsigns it will squeal the alternator belt.
I have set of the reaper tire on my Mitsubishi. They work awesome! I'm wondering where you got the bed liner?
Definitely one of our favorite tires. The Bed mat was original from Japan. You may be able to go by your local Farm supply store and see if they have some stall mats that might work
I do a spray liner on the ones I resell, including the headache rack. Looks good and doesn't interfere with the hood opening.
Japanese mini trucks are said to be the strongest on snowy roads.
The temp inside the cab is 18c which is 66f. To convert Celsius to Fehrenheit just times 18c x2 = 36c +30c= 66

I think it's really cool so you don't have to run wires and install speakers, but it's more ergonomic and permanent than just using a bluetooth speaker.

Hello, I just got a 1999 Kia Metro Towner which is the same as the Hijet and I want to put new tires and rims. Can you share the link where you got them and information of what I need to buy ? Does golf cart rims fit? I see very nice ones on Amazon and ebay but don't know if the bolts pattern are the same. Thank you in advance for you help.

Do you sell windshields i need one for my 2002 Suzuki Carry 4x4? A rock popped from a truck in front of me a cracked mine bad!? I'm in the states Arkansas. Likely bumpers and a stereo also.

For sure that would make it hotter for sure. +18c doest sound like much but when your dressed for -30 it's too hot!
Only had the fan at setting 1 too- I’m sure it would be warmer if the fan was running faster

All it needs is a good heavy duty winch up front...Plow snow, be able to pull yourself out of a bad spot etc..I look at it as a street legal, warm, utility SXS.
Basically what it is. A lot of people would buy these if they were more available.

Interesting little radio. I’d imagine with a 1500lb or so curb weight and no engine over the front wheels it probably is still pretty easy to turn the wheel without power steering. Looking at getting a mini truck only down side is I have to get a 25 year or older model to register in the US.
They steer super easy without power steering. With power steering you can turn the wheel with 1 finger
I have a 94 with manual steering and it's not an issue at all

Nothing factory in Canada. I have seen lots of custom made ones guys build for themselves.
Interesting. I have seen older ones for as little as 5000 dollars. Would be great for work around the farm and getting feed and fertilizer . Maybe even go to the grocery store.

With the research I have done on them I don't believe I will be getting one. They are really quite dangerous. It would work well on a farm but I wouldn't use on the highway.

@@dynocompe there is an importer less than an hour from my home. He has everything from late 80's all the way up too 07 suzuki's .... year doesnt seem to make much difference in price. His stock pricing varries by features like heat and A/C, mileage or 2x4 vs 4x4 ....

I own a right hand drive Toyota Hilux. Only takes ya about 15 minutes of driving to get comfortable driving RHD was my experience. Not only are you driving from the right side, but you are shifting with your left hand (clutch, brake and gas peddles are the same as a LHD standard, so nothing new to learn there).
You do have to be more cautious when passing, as you don't have the same sight lines as a LHD vehicle does, when driving on North American roads.
Other then that, these Japanese RHD vehicles are super tough, very economical to buy, repair, maintain and run!
With right hand steering do you still clutch with left foot ?
Steve Zielonko yes. Foot pedals are the same. You have to use your left hand for gear though.

The one that takes getting used to is the turn signal stalk - it's on the right side of the steering column. Left side is the wipers; ask me how I know... 😁

Kind of mileage do those little pick ups make?
My 94 (carbureted, 4 sp trans) gets upper 30s mpg, but I also tend to drive it wide open. Go easy on the pedal and I'd say low 40s easy.
