Fun Fact: The U stands for "unabhängig" (German for independent), because the Stadtbahn is independent of road traffic.
Second fun fact: As it sometimes shares the road with cars, it is not completely independent. 🙂

Thats an interesting fact Graf Pompedu! I always thought the "U" is for "Untergrund" (underground) - and indeed in Stuttgart its not really independent :)
