A beautiful Rail Color 🇫🇷🇨🇭 💕 TGV Lyria 🇫🇷 🇨🇭 Since 2019, all current Lyria TGVs are 3rd-generation Euroduplex TGVs (4700 series). The 4 in front of the series stands for "multi-voltage". These trains are also called TGV 2N2 3UA (1.5 kVdc, 25 kV 50 Hz, 15 kVac), equipped with STI interoperability, TVM 430, and are not equipped with Germany-specific LZB/PZB technology, which has been replaced by ZUB. They are also equipped with brakes and a quality capture system specific to Switzerland (15 kV_A), as well as a pantograph bow. The ZUB 121 system is specific to Switzerland: it replaces the driver in the event of signal non-compliance. They replace the TGV POS (series 4400) and Paris Ostfrankreich Süddeutschland , which are modified TGVs with center-cab locomotives specific to Germany and Switzerland, powered by 9,280 kW three-voltage asynchronous motors, similar to the TGV PBKA (series 4300). To mark the opening of the LGV Rhin-Rhône on December 11, 2011, the first Euroduplex TGVs (TGV 2N2 3UA series 4700) bound for Munich were put into service, replacing the TGV POS series 4400, which now carry the Lyria colors with equipment specific to Switzerland. The TGV POS 4402 Lyria trainset is derived from the V150 trainset that set the world speed record on April 3, 2007, with a speed of 574.8 km/h. Since the 2012 Paris-Lyon timetable, Lyria TGVs have been running in France on the LGV Rhin-Rhône, as well as in Switzerland. Together with Euroduplex trains, which have replaced POS trains since 2019, they provide the Paris-Zurich link in four hours, with six round trips a day according to the 2024 timetable. Previously, this link ran via Strasbourg on the LGV Est Europe from the Gare de l'Est, but since the opening of the Rhine-Rhône line, it has used the SBB line from Paris Gare de Lyon to Zurich HB. LYRIA is a subsidiary of SNCF and CFF, and not a railway company in its own right, as it does not hold a traffic certificate. LYRIA is a simplified joint stock company (SAS) 74% owned by SNCF Voyageurs and 26% by CFF marché voyageurs. LYRIA has given its trains an identity: the livery features the emblematic red color of the TGV, as well as the Franco-Swiss link and the CFF FFS logo. Its trains serve major cities: Paris, Dijon, Geneva, Zurich, Lausanne and Basel (to name but a few). Excellent New Year's Eve weekend
