I like the wall decor you guys have done , under floor storage and the back of the camper! Seriously that little fold out stairs/tiny porch and that outdoor kitchen storage with the generator mounted on it were seriously brilliant! Thank you Kingstar Company!!
I’m no hater, the video was good and you covered it all. However, It was hard to much because it felt like you didn’t want to film the video or something. Both of you guys were really monotone. You have some great content and would get a ton more great feedback if you guys were excited
She’s beautiful!! Oh, the camper too 😁 Nice setup, I’d love to see how the jack setup works. Waiting on my lance 960 non slide. Hopefully will be delivered this fall.
Does Kingstar have any future plans to make the roof one piece from front to rear to eliminate those seems that require caulking? I already like the rolled edges idea. It seams counter productive to have those but then have one or two seams on the top that can potentially leak without constantly having to re-caulk them. Most everything else is awesome! This camper doesn't look cheap or fragile like most truck campers. It looks simple, sturdy, and the interior looks like a small condo. Would rather have a Maxxfan than a Fantastic fan, though. It's a great base to improve upon over the coming years. Kingstar is now in my top 3 truck camper list along with Northern Lite and Cirrus.
Hi there and thank you for questions and interest! No, we don’t have plans for a fiberglass roof. The seams you are referencing are S locked and buck barred riveted. The whole front cap is preassembled and receives Sika 221 on the back side of the seam as well Acryl-R on the exterior seam after installation. Again, thank you for the questions and we hope to make you a proud Camino 88 owner!
@@kingstarcompany5621 Just an fyi, I didn't ask about a one piece fiberglass roof, I was asking if you have future plans to make the stainless steel roof one piece. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I should have been more clear. The two S-lock and buck barred riveted seams on the top of the roof are very strong, but they still require the Acryl-R be maintained/replaced. Still... I don't mean to argue, there is still so much about your camper that I love! I'm still a few years away from purchasing a camper, so I will anxiously await future videos to see what future improvements you make to the Camino-88! :)
I would be interested if an oven was offered, luxury vinyl floor rather than carpet, a grey water tank, and an exterior storage compartment for shore power cord.
Hello, thank you for the feedback! Our standard layout comes with an exterior storage compartment for you shore power cord, see 2:13 in the video. Also stay tuned for content but we do now offer the option for a stove. As well snap in floor mats for the 3 floor lids.
We also offer an externally mounted 15gal 3.5 season grey water tank. It is meant for temps 15 degrees and above, with the option to go directly to ground in colder conditions
Nice rig. I love slide in campers. @ 8:41 in your fridge door are the nastiest tasting drinks. My wife loves those drinks. I told her she has bad taste she replied that's why I married you.
Minor detail: in that rear box, where the fuel jugs are, it should be vented. Just let a bit of outside air in to reduce the remote chance of explosive vapors building up. Like a said, a minor detail....
Is the only way to view your beautiful campers at your shop? Where can I see one in washington state?. Ive norrowed a very wide market down to King star, and northern lite as my top contenders. Backing up with cirrus and artic fox. Ordering a truck in about a month with a camper to follow for full time use. Would love to see and possibly stay in one of your campers for a test drive.
Hello, so sorry for a late response. Thank you for your interest in the Camino 88. Yes, you are welcome to come tour our facility anytime and see the process as well campers in various stages. We offer up to three, 100 amp hour batteries, 600 watts of solar, truma combi, closed cell insulation etc. it’s a remarkable Overland/Off grid camper. Purchasing any other before sitting in a Camino 88 would be doing yourself wrong. Form and Function really do meet in the middle.
What's the pros & cons between the slick-side and the aluminum siding? Which is heavier? Which is more watertight and/or will color-fade more over time? Is there a price difference and which one is more cost-effective and easier to repair/maintain?
Sorry for the late response, We only make slick side campers now. Aluminum siding was hard to get and prone to damage in shipping. The slick side, like any type of glossy finish needs/should be waxed. That said, the roof is stainless, so no fading issues there.
Hello! Please tell me if your camper is suitable for winter? I live in Russia and I need the highest quality and reliable camper. I chose Northern Light, but I saw your camper and I liked it. Can it be comfortable in -15? Is additional insulation possible? Is it compatible with Ram 3500 with ramboxes ? How is the construction of your camper better than fiberglass? Thanks
Hello, thank you for reaching out. I’m not certain that the Ram boxes are offered on a 3500. I believe they are offered only on short bed 2500 and 1500 trucks. The Ram short bed is the least desirable short bed trucks for most truck campers due to how short the bed is, our camper does fit however, with it without Ram boxes. Yes, our camper performs well in cold climates, we would however, recommend the Truma-Combi option for campers in extreme cold climates. Our campers come standard with thermo pane windows and are closed cell spray foamed insulated with an R value of 10. With 20 and 22 gauge stainless and aluminum roof systems with fiberglass sides, the Camino 88 is well suited for the arctic environments. Thank you for reaching out! What part of Russia are you from?
@@kingstarcompany5621 Thanks for the answer! I am from the cold part of Russia - Siberia. We have mostly European campers with diesel heaters and they do an excellent job. Due to recent events in Russia, the purchase will have to be postponed, but I am closely monitoring the truck camper market, in particular your company. I would like to see Awning, ventilation and a hard door in the shower and other options.
I really want to like it, but the cabinets and carpet make the interior look really dated. The outside looks good though. It's not for me as is but thank you sharing.
Hi Dan! This one is sold. We do have a champagne slick side, north/south bed, lounger layout for sale at a factory demo price. Let me know if you have any questions!
Hello, thanks for your critique! Actually, a fully loaded Camino 88 North/South with a Rack Pack and Rack Pack Tower with the two, 16 gallon auxiliary water tanks (62 gallons total/over 500 lbs of water) full, full main tank and two, full 20 lbs LP tanks, has a wet weight of 4310 lbs.
That first set of ‘soft close’ overhead storage compartments? I can tell by the sound they make when they close - you could put an inexpensive subwoofer in one of those, and it will perform beautifully…. Put a higher end sub in there, or even a good full-range speaker in there, and it will sound like there’s an 18” subwoofer and a thousand watt amp mounted under the floor. Movies, videos, and games will take on a whole new dimension. An enclosure that boosts bass sounds by virtue of its dimensions is often a pure happenstance, and should be taken advantage of. You might look at these … most bang for your buck .. oh wow I made a pun … anyway, they get glowing reviews as well … Bose SoundLink Flex Portable Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker, Black

Any chance you might consider pop out windows, and a combination of bug screen and privacy shades, instead of the dated blinds?
At this time, no. The plastic pop out windows in time fade and scratch. Thank you for asking!

Real nice 👍👍👍
Thank you! Weight with full fluids on the east/west edition is just over 3050 pounds
Nice, looked on your website but dont see an option for a side awning, really need to add one. Also would prefer any drains to be on the exterior.
Is that the long or short bed, didn't think i heard if you said. Was looking at these Kingstars earlier, very nice! Thanks for sharing.
This is on a long bed! Thanks!

Hi there! It’s vented on the bottom of the box.
Do you make a camper for flatebed trucks.. but useing the whole flatbed for walking space.
We don’t, there would be no room for cabinets or seating.
Will you be making any new changes in your camper this year? Longer version maybe? Larger windows etc?
Hi there!
We now offer a north-south bed (which extends the front 20 inches). Stay tuned for video/photo content of that and more.

Is the camper electrical plug cable long enough to connect to a 7 pin receptacle inside the truck bed?
Is there a link to a factory tour to see how these are built?
Hi there!
As of now, there isn’t. But interested clients are more than welcome to come visit the factory and get a tour.
I'm in South Carolina, I was hoping there was a video tour of construction.
Perhaps a 40 + gal fresh water tank?
Stay tuned! We are addressing that currently!

Será legal en California vivir en la ciudad con este hermoso camper truck?
Hello. It depends. Different cities and states have certain regulations. I’d suggest researching that in your local area.
Awesome.

NYC one i wanna buy it
This thing looks like it was made in the 80s. Did you reclaim all the materials?? Lol
Seems like a lot oh heavy materials involved, 2x4s2x6s. Lots of stainless nice but heavy? Just sayin.

Fully loaded needs a Dually for sure, that 3500 SRW is still too small
Pretty nice rig...but for $70k for truck and camper I would rather buy a house and get a used early 80s camper...
$100K just for the camper.
$51k for a standard build.
