My friend, I know you're busy but it's been a year and we're all waiting for part 2. Are you guys okay? Sorry if I coming off rude, I really don't mean it, just excited to see and hear about your rig
Just bring a dc to dc charger and a 1oo amp hr battery and you good to go. The best advice I can give today is buy you a jump pack it’s a Norco good for up to a 8.8 diesel and it has a lite and a strobe and ports to charge phones it’s not cheep but believe me it’s the best of the best and I have jumped several cars and trucks and mine is in my truck 24-7 it’s that good and don’t try to cheap out because you will have one too small and the big one that works and my wife can run her laptop with this boy it’s all that and a box of cherries !!!
I see you’ve been months since you last posted and many of your viewers have expressed much interest in parts 2 and 3. While I hope you’re ok I suspect the workload and mental overhead of making these videos is losing its charm. No offense but I won’t wait for you and I won’t see how these turn out.
A little bit of info buy some citric acid and mix it with water and get a bug sprayer and spray all that aluminum with your mix will keep it shinny with very little work. The big tankers with the shinny tank, this is what they use it does not etch your aluminum just keeps it shinny like new and your wife can use it like a mirror to fix her hair .
That is a pretty cool adventure. I’ve been looking at Kingstar campers. So far, i haven’t seen anything that says they construct a 4 season camper. Is yours custom for 4 season? Will you be giving specs like tank capacities and solar/battery set-up capabilities? Nice video. Looking forward to the next episode. Safe Travels.
After serving in the Bundeswehr (German army) over 40 years ago, there are two things that must be installed in a car or truck: Webasto Coolant Heater and AC!! From the outside the car may look like it's going to fall apart at any moment, but at my age you don't want to sweat or freeze (anymore)
You need a air mattress, you just put in spread it out and air it up when it’s inside your truck and it forums to the shape of your sleeping area and it fits like a glove !!
If you need to dump some weight take the whole back seat out , the bottom and the back and I think it was like a 150 lbs and that’s a lot and I just fold out my deck and have a heavy rug to cover it with and that way no rattling .
Wow , what a fantastic new rig! Can’t wait to follow y’all on all your trips in it! I’ve been thinking of buying one of these and I’m anxious to see how if it functions as good as it looks. Looks like you made a great buy. Keep the videos coming.
I'm curious why you turned on the exhaust brake and high idle when the truck was cold? We have a RAM 3500 diesel dually and it has the exhaust brake (we're not even sure about the high idle--ours is a lower-end model) but it seems to be something you do generally. We're doing a lot of winter camping and don't want to miss an advantage. And, we're excited to see more of this series of videos, not just because it's cool to see what you got but also because you got it in Houghton, where my husband went to school. Fun reminder of a recent trip out there!
You probably have the high idle option. While in park, just turn on the cruise control and tap the set button. That will set high idle to 1000rpm. You can use the + button the increase the idle in increments of 50-100 rpm up to 150 RPM. Using the exhaust brake put the truck into a warm up mode. The exhaust brake partially closed to our car it a load on the engine which speeds up the warm up process. If it’s really cold out, I let the truck idle for about 30 seconded before I do this process. Also, modern diesels don’t like to idle, it causes issues with the emissions systems. So, whenever I need to idle my truck for more than a minute or so, I always turn on the high idle. It keeps combustion temperatures and oil pressure higher. This helps keep the EGR clean and provides better lubrication to the engine. Granted, you can just let it idle, but the high idle tends to reduce emissions problems. It’s also very helpful if you are using Dc-Dc charging. Higher engine RPM helps the alternator stay cooler and boosts the amperage output.
Just found your channel....again....liking what I see (again), and I subscribed. This video was a tease for me and I'm looking forward to the remaining 2 videos....Unless you already posted them, if so please disregard because I'm an idiot. Great stuff here, please keep it coming.
25:28 2003, we built our ExpeditionVehicle on a 1996 Ford CF8000 commercial truck. To retain the quarters on any road and during any manouveur, I used standard HeavyTruck 'U'-shaped .5"/12.5mm threaded rod. . For your camper, I prefer you bolt through the frames at multiple points using Grade 8 hardware... backed by steel plate to spread the load. . Our rig? Twenty-four months twenty-four thousand miles around South America. Alaska, Panama, all over North and Central America. Summers up rough logger tracks to remote mountain lakes. Winters on isolated Baja beaches. Over two decades full-time live-aboard. And we don't have near the leverage of the height of your rig. . If any of our caravan chums saw such minimal attachments as you use in this video, we would automatically suggest something significantly more durable. . Do you understand your camper is attached to your tray... but not your truck? That may be adequate for traveling slow on pavement, but do you intend to camp only in-town?
25:17 Are those chain-couplers from Harbor Freight? Are they rated at 30#? Using something so light-duty is irresponsible to other people on the road. After you lose your camper, how many pedestrians will it crush?
Just curious, how often do you use the backseat as a seat for passengers? If never, why not remove it? Also, what is the other device mounted above the truck screen?
Nice rig!. Started looking at the 2023 F-350 crew cab chassis gas 6.4L V8 and was surprised the payload was 9800lbs. I think that is without the truck bed though, I will have to check. I still may have to buy a F-550. I want the Host Yukon 11.6 truck camper and it is at 5200lbs with my options alone. I’ll have my girlfriend, and everything We own almost and full time. So, I am thinking 6900lbs total all said and done. Great video, looking forward to the next 2 vids. You keep showing travel in a truck camper. I will watch!
Mr God bless you an ah great video I'm ah Texan myself and to keep it 💯 to be able to afford ah truck an kingstar loaded out like yours on everythang I would have driven straight tru to Houghton got the kingstar mounted shook Marcus hand an rolled back to Texas grinning like ah large chesser😊 cat
Great video. I didn’t know Kingstar was in Houghton, MI. I plan to be in Houghton this summer on a 4-6 week loop of the UP in between doctors visits. Also, I noticed u didn’t need jack extensions for loading the camper on the flatbed. That’s good. Or did I miss something? Hope all is well. Tell Sasha that Teddy and I said Hi.
I just found your channel as I am considering one of these campers as well...looking forward to seeing parts 2 & 3. Do you talk about your truck setup anywhere?
I don't remember if you have already talked about it but have you found the flat bed limiting? I'm thinking Iof getting a F450 so that i can still have the traditional bed when I'm not hauling my TC. What's been your experience? Thanks for the content!
Hi Scott👋 Thank you🙏 Nice to see you on the road🛻🛻 I was waiting for this video👈 Very fun to watch😊 Give my greetings to Shasha. stay safe Thanks again
Nice but there is a pretty good space between the top of the cab and the bottom of the sleeper. Don't think I would want it that way but that's just me. I guess you're releasing footage that never got put out because I'm pretty sure I remember you already got rid of this camper and the cirrus.?
I’m am flat out excited to see you back on the road. Wow. I’m a little confused on what questions to ask since this was shot in 12/22 and you’ve posted updates on your plans since then so I’m not sure if they’d be ones that have been asked and answered. I do hope you and Sasha find time as new part-time RVers to continue posting new adventures along with your life ones. This camper probably answers some things but also prompts more questions. I look forward to discovering the answers.
Kingstar gave you the royal treatment, helping you modify your truck to get it on there properly. I hope I get such wonderful service when I finally get my own truck camper, trailer, or RV; I also hope that I'm ready to overwinter in it above the Sierra Nevada snowline if it comes to that.
High on my list for the next TC. I like the clean roof for solar where the A/C is configured on the side wall. Imo more TC builders should focus on solar first and A/C second since power is needed way more than A/C. There are better solutions for A/C in TC's than the traditional roof top mounting you see as the industry standard.
I purchase the same heater last winter to put on the bed of the truck camper. As soon as you pulled it out I said to my self that heater is going to cook him up. I cant believe how good that little heater works.
As I recall, he went from Cirrus truck camper to the 5th wheel. Waiting to hear that this is a collaboration with Kingstar, must have made a great offer/deal to have them provide videos.
@buckhorncortez I'm familiar enough, and I do stand by my statement. I do wish the price of a kingstar was more affordable, but they do offer many unique accessories, which makes them ahead of other brands who don't offer anything close (if at all).

Part one was a good episode. Waiting for parts 2 and 3. Any idea when they will be available?

Sadly I don’t get much better mileage in my 2011 Ranger 4x4. Maybe I should get a Ram duely for a daily driver. 😊
Congratulations!
That weather app was super cool, it is a native app that came with the truck or third party?
starting out with a rookie road trip mistake- Gotta get you service done and gas tank filled before you leave.... i oughta..##**!^!
Great temporary travel rig! Next time try putting electric heating blanket underneath you. Works way better! Love your truck camper content!!!

I don’t understand whey people fold their mirrors out when you don’t need them and then again that’s just me !
I’m excited for part 2, 3, and to see how much y’all love the new kingstar!
Please would you 'list' the small electric heater that you used, thanks.

After you lose your camper, how many pedestrians will it crush?
Correct, these are those cheap aluminum keychain carabiners? I think they are rated for 10# , the 30# versions were too expensive.
Scott, are you up for an epic caravan roadtrip?
Just curious, how often do you use the backseat as a seat for passengers? If never, why not remove it?
Also, what is the other device mounted above the truck screen?
If you look at older videos, I had it removed for 3 years, I put it back in when I got my trailer.
We do have passengers from time to time.
@@Stonybootoh! Okay, yeah, I’m a bit behind on your videos. The last thing I remember you guys were using the truck camper.😅

Bent wires to stabilize your rig?
Can any bent wire be unbent, then you lose your load?
Are you being serious?

Thank you🙏
Nice to see you on the road🛻🛻
I was waiting for this video👈
Very fun to watch😊
Give my greetings to Shasha.

Why are you going to do a truck camper again,
This was actually from Dec. 2022, almost year old.
Nice but there is a pretty good space between the top of the cab and the bottom of the sleeper. Don't think I would want it that way but that's just me. I guess you're releasing footage that never got put out because I'm pretty sure I remember you already got rid of this camper and the cirrus.?
This is an old video.
Does your truck have an ac plug that gives you around 400 watts? Wouldn’t that charge your power station faster?
That elevtric banket will make you sleep like a babby. Use that heater to take the shock off from getting up....
Amigo, ojalá pudieras poner subtitulos en español. Me gustan tus videos y quisiera entenderlos mejor. Saludos desde León, Guanajuato, México.

Part 2
Update?
Good to see you again and also that you’re getting a new camper which means you’re going to be traveling again. Looking forward to part 2 & 3.
we've stayed at that campground in Michigan but it wasn't snowing then! Nice and Sunny!

Keep in mind, this was December 2022. Speaking of that, I need some new tires soon!
@@Stonyboot oh ok . I'm sure u guys miss the open road
@@Stonybootwait what!? Dec ‘22!?
You need to report that AAA credit card as stolen and order a new one. You have shown it way too much in this video.
Why don't you just get a hotel room?
No fun doing that. And, too much money to sleep for 6-8 hours.
We're waiting for the part 2. 🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬
Cmon you gotta show the Cummins cold starts!
Fantastic job editing this video Scott great job
Damn! This looked like a lot of fun! Can't wait to see part two!
@stonyboot What did I miss?? A new truck camper? I thought you guys were going a different direction?
Gotta be some sort of a promo.
Cool trip Scott !! Cant wait to see the Kingstar !!
New camper looks great. Hope to get a full tour.
Heckuva trip! Nice camper, too!
Them little ceramic heaters are the bomb !!

Where is part two and three of the king star?
We are in Kazakhstan at the moment. I’ll get the videos out when we return.

I get kingstar ,my neighbor he must get kingstar !
