They aren’t cheap, but they took good care of me in exchange for some promotion. The concept of a truck and camper though works fantastic. I think you’ll dig it. Headed to AZ in a bit with mine to deliver some kayaks. Going to bring my bike this time around, maybe I’ll check out Sedona. You make it look incredible.
Love the camper!! Great Design and will bring you many of memories!! I want to thank you for the reviews you did on Kayaks under or around 300. I bought the field and stream Blade and have really enjoyed it!! I've been using it for 6 months now and have paddled. Washington, Oregon, Maine, New Hampshire and now in Rhode Island!! Thanks !!!
Man I really appreciate your videos, don't even have a kayak yet , but you have very good info on your videos 👍. Glad I found your channel. Enjoy the rig .
I must've watched this video 30 times before deciding on buying a new Kingstar camper with my fiance. They're nothing short of spectacular and the guys at Kingstar were great to work with! Thanks for making this walkthrough, it really helped!
@@djaj423 We ended up selling ours due to lifestyle changes, but absolutely loved it and still often talk about how great it was. The quality was top notch and it was very comfortable. Highly recommended :)
Fun! Thanks for sharing! Yours is more elaborate, but it reminds me of my childhood back in the '60s and being with my grandparents when they camped out a nearby reservoirs and took their boat! My tiny little grandmother "Nana" water skied (single ski) til she was 70. Had some awesome catfish dinners fried in bacon grease back in those days. :)
Dan, I met Marcus this weekend at an event. Great guy and fantastic product. It'd be great if you'd do a one-year review to cover the highs & lows. Thanks!
You would think a man of your stature would have a big old Dooley truck and a fifth wheel pulling on down the road with marble floors and countertops gold fixtures chandelier etc. etc. LOL just kidding that’s a sweet set up🤙🏻🤙🏻
I would think you might opt for at least a low-rise rack on the top. Although with the pitched roof it might be suboptimal for kayak & canoe carry? I realize when you are on the road delivering boats, you will have the trailer, but it would be nice to be able to stow a couple on top for a quick weekend trip and the like. It's a nice setup, and hopefully we'll get a second review after you have been using it for a couple months. What you love, what improvements you've made (or discovered), and whatever shortcomings you see.
I agree I went a rack. That was hard to let go of, but I have a little Malone trailer for weekend trips. It was a sacrifice, but ultimately I still found this to be the best value for what I was looking for. Lance 850 was the other option but the inside build quality seemed cheaper and the overall cost was almost $15k more. I just couldn’t justify it.
It works OK. It’s very low fuel consumption which I like. However you always Gotta make sure that it’s on. It turns itself off while driving on occasion. Also in cold weather it freezes stuff pretty quickly.
Was just wondering what the weight was on this layout? Looks like you have it setup pretty well. I see in another comment you recently did a solar system, what all did you add?
Hi there! We do not have a black tank, just a cassette porta pot or compost toilet. We do offer a 3 season gray tank as an add on also. Let us know if you have any more questions!
On a trip with it as we speak. I’ve stayed 200+ nights in it now. Some little things have broken like the outside shower which seemed cheap to start. But all and all I still love it and would buy it again in a heartbeat.
Seems audio is only coming out of left channel. Im not getting any audio on right channel. I'm deaf in left ear, so switched my headphone ears and that is how I found out. Just a FYI. Great video otherwise :)
Not at the time of this video. I’ve since done roof mount solar, inverter and Lithium Batteries. I haven’t plugged in since I did that install in December.
I haven’t thought about it. Since this video I’ve driven it over 100,000 miles and slept in it 200+ nights including last night. I still think it’s the best investment I’ve ever made.
I want one. I’m shopping around and I’m sold
That thing is sweet! Nice video Dan! That looks kinda similar to the Cowboy campers, too. Anyhow, likely beyond my budget, but wow, NICE!!!

I'm glad to see that you now can see all your customers and clients and not have to worry where you lay your head.
I have watched lots of your kayak videos - you are a great MAN 👍❤️🙏😊
Bunk setup was awesome! I have 3 kids.
Sweet truck and Camper.id put a Walmart bag in the toilet.no black tank at all then just throw it away.very impressive setup.

Nice set up Dan
Happy trails to you. Nice!
Way to go, Dan! For all the time you spend up and down the road this is a big improvement. Lots of fun family ahead for you!😎
Love it thank you for sharing🤩

Sounds epic.
Kingstar looks to be a great option
Awesome road rig! Hope to see many of trip videos in the future.
Very cool setup. I'm new to truck campers. My rig is pretty basic in comparison. Looks very comfortable.
bring that thing to NC!

Yes I need too. I’ve spend over 100 nights in it this year.
woow great
That things sweet man!
The Dog was cool
Tight setup man.
You're wise to not worry about interior arrangements.
Your wife will *nest* the living areas.
Just wait...
Nice set up Dan
I drive a f350 Dulley and I like kingstar truck camper
Beautiful. Do find breakfast or dinner difficult with the kids with no dinette table? Thanks
We’ve never eaten inside as a family. The kids just sleep inside and live outside.
Wow perfection
Does wife still like it. Do you like the toilet? Climbing in back looks a little tricky
Man, you’re gonna make me have to buy a one ton truck again!
I’ll never buy anything else now that I have one. This does handles anything I throw at it.
I transport bikes and boats for a living and I want to bring my family with and I’m sold on it
Same it's the perfect little unit for families. Just got back from a week in AZ. Life is good on the road!

I love it we were looking for one of those I was thinking would it be possible to make it solar
It would be easy to make it solar. I’m gonna do that at some point
Nices camper
Puppy!
About that step - I’m sure you have a receiver hitch. Get a hitch step.
After having the camper for awhile now, how is the LP fridge working out? Great video and we’re looking at buying one.
It works OK. It’s very low fuel consumption which I like. However you always Gotta make sure that it’s on. It turns itself off while driving on occasion. Also in cold weather it freezes stuff pretty quickly.
Can the indoor shower be deleted , or is it required? Will they build cabinets there instead if you dont want the indoor shower?
I have no clue. I’d ask Marcus at Kingstar.
Cool, u think u can haul in a 1/2 ton truck like Tacoma?
Great camper but where do the kayaks go? We are thinking of an Aliner because we can carry the boats on on the car still.
I’m always hauling a trailer these days.
well how is the truck camper working out? any complaints?
Was just wondering what the weight was on this layout? Looks like you have it setup pretty well. I see in another comment you recently did a solar system, what all did you add?
I forget the weight. I’d say 2500 but I can’t remember for sure. Yes added two 2000 watt solar panels, 200p hour lithium batteries and a inverter.
Hey I'm in texas I want to buy one
Do these have a black tank or gray tank? If not how does it all work?
Hi there!
We do not have a black tank, just a cassette porta pot or compost toilet.
We do offer a 3 season gray tank as an add on also.
Let us know if you have any more questions!
Looks good how does the dog get up there?
He puts his front paws up and I hoist him in. It’s not pretty.
Rig up a ramp for him. Thanks for your videos, I purchased a lifetime tamarack kayak and found there are holes in the bottom is that for stability?
How are you liking it after owning it for this long. looking to purchase this or the northern lite. grey tanks are now avail . safe travels
On a trip with it as we speak. I’ve stayed 200+ nights in it now. Some little things have broken like the outside shower which seemed cheap to start. But all and all I still love it and would buy it again in a heartbeat.
it's ok to admit that you're a bit of a diva...😆😆 JK. Nice ride. Hope you and the fam will be more comfortable now.
Seems audio is only coming out of left channel. Im not getting any audio on right channel. I'm deaf in left ear, so switched my headphone ears and that is how I found out. Just a FYI. Great video otherwise :)
The newer KingStar truck camper looks more of stainless steel construction- $26,000 each
How much do you pay for your truck and camper?
How much did you pay for it ?
Probably 25-30k maybe more
I've got to have the electric Jack's and delete the microwave save $500 and get another cupboard
Solar on the roof?
Not at the time of this video. I’ve since done roof mount solar, inverter and Lithium Batteries. I haven’t plugged in since I did that install in December.
Music but no voice
I found out it’s a wooden frame, are you worried about it rotting and safety?
I haven’t thought about it. Since this video I’ve driven it over 100,000 miles and slept in it 200+ nights including last night. I still think it’s the best investment I’ve ever made.
@@HeadwatersKayak thank you
