The height tool is called a "HOC" bar. For height of cut. You can get one with a digital reader on it for extreme accuracy which is what we use on our mowers at the golf course.

Anyone who is thinking about reel mowing expect to do a lot more work and spending more time and money on your turf and more water but it does look good if your area is flat

Pete, I asked in the comments months ago how to level existing fescue. Thanks for the new videos and tips. I ended up spreading a sand compost mixture and dragging an old length of chain link fence over it and it worked out great. Sprayed for weeds as a preventative maintenance measure and fertilized and things are looking great. As far as your camera setting, check the white balance setting if you have that feature. That should help. Keep up the good work brother. God Bless
It's usually called a "height of cut gauge" or "height of cut bar" if you're searching for it online 👍. Love the reel mowers that Allett is a beast, do you still use the little baby Liberty 43?
Also one thing that wasn't done in the video (since you were showing him how to reel mow/use the mower) was to check the reel to bedknife/cut test with some paper, just a thought. Keep up the nice work!

The beauty of bluegrass..... it shines in the spring and sometimes fall. But once that heat kicks in it sloughs off and wants to check out if it dont get the water it wants. You can tell up here in the north who has an all blue yard as its first to check out in the heat vs rye, fescue or a complete mixed yard which is most around here. but can always tell where the blue at

Pete, I love the videos as always. Would you mind wiping your camera lens down? I think you have grass debris on there and I’ve noticed it the last couple of videos. Especially on the middle left side. In regards to color, I think if you get your white balance right, you should be able to see the darker green tones in your grass. Right now, you’ll notice how the white in your hats is blown out. If you get that right, I think you’ll be set. You’ve mastered all the other angels, drone shots and everything else. I wouldn’t have paid much else attention if you didn’t mention it. Keep up the great work.

@@GCITurf It's not you lens, its dirt on your sensor - take off the lens and the dirt is on the sensor. It will be on the opposite side to what you see in your videos, so that big one on the left will be a speck of dust/dirt on the right hand side as you look in where the lens was. Don't clean it with a tissue or anything like that and don't try blowing it off, you need to blow it off with a special camera sensor blower, or use a special brush to clean the sensor. If you don't have this equipment, take it to any camera shop as you can ruin your camera if you do it wrong.

The mower at the end had a brush in front of it, what is the purpose of that, to stand the grass back up before cutting or to lay it down? Also did that rotary mower at the end have a roller as back wheels? Lawn looks amazing !!

Pete , What the best thing you have ever found to get rid of KUDZU ? i am getting ready to try Detonate herbicide. What do you think? It's in the edge of the woods in the field behind my home ,not in my yard .

Pete what is the best product to keep grass from sticking to under deck of lawnmowers or is a deck wash the best way ?
I sprayed mine with 100% silicone last year before mowing season just to try it. It still caked up a little, but it washed off extremely easy in the fall. I think my deck was just makes green water. I haven’t seen much success in actually washing it even somewhat clean.
As a professional photographer for two decades. You’ll never get your camera to resemble the colors of the grass on video, as it does your eyes. Now if you were taking still photos, it would be a closer resemblance, but still wouldn’t be how we see it with our eyes
The more I read about this the more I know you are correct. So frustrating that it looks so much better to the eye than on the camera…

For my online business it’s the only “advertisement” I have. For my local company I have no clue
I don't understand I live in Charlotte and you are not that far away and I don't think you can grow bluegrass around here. As far as I know I've never seen any. I've seen quite a lot of zoysia which I think it's beautiful and seems to spread but I don't know. I would buy some alpha elite but I would have to take down two big oak trees and at my age 80 and my money situation I can't do that.
12 years ago I sinned by planting Kentucky 31 seed. Now that I've discovered turf fescue I'm curious what you would recommend? Scrap my lawn this fall and start over with turf fescue, or just reseed with turf seed from now on?
2!options.
1 - Overseed with turf type heavily and consistently for the next 4-5 years and it might blend in fairly good.
2 - smoke it off and start over.

It was nice going home with the scag for sure. Would I had driven 4 hours just to reel mow Pete’s lawn? Probably not. With that being said , Pete is a great friend and we always make the minimal amount of time we usually get to hang the best time. So no I wasn’t just there for the scag.

Dang, that's a lot of clippings for just 2 days worth! I would probably leave the clippings being so fine, but that's just me.
