That is a beautiful car it checks all the boxes.i get up In this Era and a fellow in town had one of these red row your own and next to the Mopar hemi winged warriors these were some of my favorite cars . That 427 was a beast
My friends dad had one of these. This was the car that made me a Ford fanatic. It was such a beast. I miss going for rides with them on weekends when he would take it out.
The coolest! My parents had a '66 Galaxies 500 2 door hardtop with 390, a/c, power windows and locks, etc. Back in the late '60's. Had it several years. Neat full size hardtops!😁😁
I'm so glad you guys actually get the cars out and lay a little bit of rubber with them and not afraid to get on them that's what they were built for and we love seeing it
Hey from Australia. Not a car you see every day is an understatement here. All the big Fords were available here, except the big block Galaxies, as far as I know. A few self imported coupes may have existed, but the cost of converting to right-hand drive, really kept them out of people's hands. Damn shame really. We also had tariff protection, which made self imports about 25% more expensive.
My father had a 1966 Galaxy 500 with a 352 cu inch engine and a 4 barrel carb stock. Yellow with black interior and a black vinyl roof. Was an excellent car.
The reason you closed the windows at high speed is because the headliner would get sucked out...or the roof bows would invert and you would have a face full of cloth. It happened with remarkable frequency.
Hi, I lost a windscreen on a dirt road, and when I pulled onto the freeway, I had to limit my speed to 50MPH, as the rear glass was visibly bowing outwards. That era of Fords came with toughened glass all around, and the replacement was a laminated screen, obviously. Very glad it was a warm summer night.
That car was in the collection of Mike Patak of Mike's Classic Cars when I photographed it for my book, "Full-Size Fords: 1955-1970," in 2008. It's a spectacular car!
I think it was 11.25:1. I could be wrong though. But it was at least 11:1. They had a very nasty sound to them. I'm a Mopar guy but I love the 427 Galaxie's...especially the 1965-67 models. The 65 is my favorite but I'd love to own any one of em. This 66 is beautiful
Really like Ken’s presentation, but whoever did the video was a total amateur. Lots of in and out motion with the camera leading to out of focus shots and a motion sickening effect and funky transitions … like they just found all the “cool” toys in their editing suite and used them all. Totally ruined Ken’s work and coverage of this beautiful car. Would like to see an updated version of this video produced by someone who knows what they’re doing.

Kevin , A lot of people are fans of this body style but try to find one , is the hard part.
Another great muscle car. This car is truly amazing. Thanks for sharing
This video and car will never get old to me.

Gorgeous car, but that motor is pure eye candy.

Great bit of trivia.

I would love to shell that with my 2000
Thanks for watching, glad you like it! We REALLY liked this car!!
Very Nice rare car.
Thru week 8 I think this car is the most special
That looks like an evil shark. So unusual!
Crazy how much HP these things made, even by today’s standards, that’s a shit load of power 💪🏼
@AG, back then, HP was gross, today HP is net. So a quick rule of thumb is deduct about 25% to 33%...to get to todays HP

If Keanu Reeves was a car.
I guess Jay Leno didn't know he could get that engine
The Galaxie line was the finest Ford produced. 1971 was the year of their decline.
True ❗️
My favourite year for Ford. Conservative or not, they got everything right. Then came the '67 . . . too bad!
what was the compression ratio of 427 side oiler?

The only two known R-Code '66 7-Litres are in Miami. Fun facts.
Sexy box, like most things it has to catch on you either like it or not
Do you have it for sale
Not for sale, part of The Brothers Collection.
Awesome car, but no a/c. Only option missing really. Gads. this one is spectial.
I don’t think you could order A/C with the 427. (❓)

Not a very streetable engine. Like the 426 Hemi.
