- 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 Lightweight Muscle Car Of The Week Video #61
This week's video features a car that looks sedate as can be but reveals a startlingly different personality once the key is turned. The factory-built 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 Lightweight features an R-Code 427 for power, and nearly all the non-essential items have been deleted or lightened for better drag strip performance in the Super Stock NHRA class. There were around 200 built, and this one is as true to form as they come. One of the many factory lightweight Muscle Cars in the Brothers Collection.

One of the things I like best about your vids is that you guys start em up, drive em around a little, and even squawk the tires some. That's awesome! Most vids on these high dollar muscle cars are just sitting in a shop. Good on you guys for letting people hear, and see them run. Best vids there is! Thanks
My dad owned the Ed Martin Ford car. It was one of the first 5-7 which were painted. It was red. He also had a body in white car. The first cars were called re bodies. They were the 63 body on a 62 chassis. Like I said there were 5-7 of those. Dennis Kolodziej owns the Ed Martin Ford car now and Charles Crites (Crites Restoration) owns one of the other (body in white) but has recently passed away. Dennis K. is a TBolt & LWG guru.
One of my favorites!
Another great show , but " the brothers " never seem to run out of cars ? How many of these amazing vehicles do they have ?

Back in the day when you couldmorder a car like this....when there were options and dealer installed parts....
Greetings from 'Down Under'.
Well at least one of these cars ended up in Australia where it still survives. Loving this series and seeing many cars that were unknown to me.

Ford should have made the light panels optionally available to street drivers.
How much does it weigh?
Around 3,500lbs. 12 sec.quarter with slicks and open headers.
Pretty good diet at the factory because a 64 was about 2 metric tonnes so the 63 was far off .
Not even arm rest on the door. I surprised that FORD didn't have an extra one gallon gas canister in the trunk to run the fuel Tank dry and switch to the Dragallon reserve to reduce weight and even only fill it to 1/2 a gallon.
Shifted with an all aluminum t-10 not toploader
