You should point out that the microphone on the phone should be muted and speaker on the phone should be turned all the way down so there are no audio issues.
Dear Kevin, you can show your ppt and the chat at the same Time on the pc screen by sharing the desktop and making the ppt slide show set up to individual window. I use it in teaching.
I wonder why it is so difficult for Microsoft or Google to copy some of the features from Zoom and allow the host to share and still see all the participants, not only their comments but the actual video of each one on a scroll mode in case there are many. This is a must for many of us teachers.
I'm wondering the exact same thing. It's so frustrating because now ZOOM won't allow calls to be free after 40 minutes.. and my lesson last longer than that.

Very good tip...but there is a simpler option for putting PowerPoint into presentation (slide show) mode without it taking up your full screen (at about 2:30 in your video). Before you put it into slideshow mode, go up to the ribbon in Powerpoint AND click "set up slideshow" and select the radio button for "browsed by an individual (window)" instead of the default full screen option, then click OK. now when you put your PowerPoint into slideshow mode, it will open in its own window which is completely resizable and movable, so you could easily move it over to the side and still be able to see the team chat and attendee panels while still displaying your PowerPoint in presentation mode to your audience. ☺️
Ha, that's one source of my video ideas... Teams UserVoice captures all the issues that people have. I also had a previous video and a bunch of people called out this pain point. A great video topic = an unmet need + a potential workaround or solution 😁
I didn't know about this. Great idea. Alternatively, I use application view, opted for windowed view on my PowerPoint so when I begin the slideshow, I can adjust its size so it doesn't fill the whole of my screen. The audience just see the PP (as per application view) on their screen but I can see both the PP and chat to the right, within mine.
I don't know what I would do without your videos ... this semester I started using Teams after using Zoom for months ... and it's been a change ... So.. Thanks :P

Hi Kevin you can just avoid all this by using two screens. Then at presenting you just swap left the presentation and on the left, you keep teams open. Hit the like for him to see it :)
Hi Kevin, great tip! And really well presented. I'm going to check out your other videos now. One complete alternative - sometimes coming out of the presentation and having you/the presenter on screen instead of slides can work well. The audience feel a bit more connected with you when they get your answers, and it breaks things up. The key is to inform people you'll do this and stop every 8-10 minutes or so, and have a slide that shows 'Questions'. Then interrupting your presentation and taking questions is a controlled and planned approach. Thanks again!
This is exactly what I do! I deliver some content using my ppt slides for about 5 mins, then come out of slide share completely and ask for insights/reflections/questions. When I am presenting the content via slides I turn my camera off so the learners can focus on the great visuals and my voice. I think this 'mixing up' approach works well and can actually boost engagement. A bit fiddly for the presenter but you get used to it after a few sessions!
Your videos are the easiest to follow for me. I love how you showed how to upload a file inside of a Teams meeting window, so that I can see my students while viewing the file. Is there a way to do the same thing with a web browser? I'd love to be able to play a TH-cam video inside of a Teams meeting rather than have to share my web browser and not be able to see my students at the same time without toggling back and forth.
Appreciate the work-around but surely they are working on a way for the software to accommodate having this all on your one screen. Seems it wouldn't be so complicated and it's certainly a constant painpoint.
I was really hoping this was going to show us how to see chat AND hand raises at the same time. I do have a second monitor, so one screen is the content I'm sharing, and the other screen has the meeting open with the chat. I teach, and my chats have been very busy so far, so I don't want to close them. How am I to see the hand raises/participants list at the same time? It's too much to watch both of my screens, and my phone all at once :)
Hey Kevin, thanks for everything you're doing! I have another challenge tho, don't know if you addressed this before, still diggin': for interactive online trainings, it would be great if participants would have the option to view whatever the trainer is presenting (Powerpoint...) on half of the screen, and the other participants' cameras on the other half. Would that be possible with what Teams is offering right now? Also, can the presenter's camera be enlarged at choice? Thanks!

Hey Kevin. I like your channel, and upvote you a lot. What baffles me when I present in Teams is knowing what the participants actually see. Sometimes I have been presenting thinking they are seeing what I am presenting, but sometimes it isn't the case, like when I switch tabs in a browser and then go to another program. Any tips on that? I want to KNOW what they are seeing.
This same technique of using your mobile phone as a second screen will show you what your audience sees. It’s a quick way to verify what they see. Hope that helps!
Hi Kevin awesome tutorials. You mentioned using dual monitors to present and use Teams chat/hands at the same time. How is that achieved? Also how do I insert myself into my presentations using green screen or PIP while presenting? Thanks so much for your help.
The fact that Kevin recorded multiple videos to explain how to do this or that or find ways (mostly cosmetic fixing) to perform so many tasks tell me that Microsoft Teams is completely flawed. Basically, Microsoft Teams is just a sharing screen software - that is all. You ought to improvise for all the other tasks that you need for, let's say, a presentation or class.
Thanks for these tips. I am a trainer and I've been using a second monitor - one to see my presentation and the other to switch between the Chat box and Participant list. I would love to see the videos of participants (they have their videos on) yet it seems I can only see the video of 2 people max below the PPT. For others I just see their initials in a circle, even though I have 'large gallery view' selected. How do I get to see everyone's videos below the PPT? (I am logged into both monitors using the same account by the way). I'm wondering... do I have to set up 2 accounts and be logged in using 2 separate accounts - 1 on each monitor? Thanks
You are amazing Kevin thanks a lot for your support👍 . I would like to know is it possible to copy from chat on my phone n paste it to my screen while presenting.
Great idea! We regularly have one student as the Teacher's 'Helper' and they make sure the teachers know there is a question. In staff meetings the VP is responsible for carrying this aspect of the meeting for the Principal. Do you know how to share Android devices such as phones or Chromebooks to MacBooks? Is it possible?
Does anyone know if you can have two organizers/presenters/administrators in the case of teachers that co-teach the same classes just on different days?
Hi Kevin u am a teacher in Johannesburg ( South Africa). I have been promoting you channel to my school colleagues. Would you consider doing an intro video that targets my school. We use Microsoft and your videos will greatly assist our school get up skilled
Hello Kevin, Your videos are awesome and I learned a lot from your videos and just now I have some Recording upload issues in Teams as it is showing Unable to upload, Please help as I have checked each settings and Internet Connection too.
Impressive how Teams is impractical to use in class - I think I'll rather use Zoom with its 40 min limit than this unwieldy piece of software. So many workarounds to achieve what Zoom just... does.
I was doing this, but if I was trying to play a video, I would start getting messages on the chat on my phone saying that they couldn't hear the video or me anymore, and then I would find out I was disconnected. I found out from asking, that Teams doesn't work well when logged in to more than one device and it would disconnect on me constantly. Had this happen easily 15-20 times.
I didn't understand how you moved the ppt to half the screen. I use .docs every time I use Teams and this would help me tons if I could open/use chat on the side of it. When I try this, it just shows one half of my desktop. Can you go into detail of how to do this please? And/or how to "toggle" into chat or Teams, as you described? And/or explain how to open your phone chat on the screen? Thank you!!
Hello Kevin, thank you for the class. Today the problem I had when working as moderator is that I could not see the chat, neither 10 other attendees, only the facilitator of the meeting, do you know the reason and solution? When we went into break out rooms, we didn't have that problem. I could see 1) the chat, 2) the participants, but not in the main meeting. Appreciative for your help
Thank you for all your helpful insight into Teams. I watched another One of your videos on using the PowerPoint view Option in the share tray Instead of desktop Or window view to present, you touched on that option a bit here too. This format to share is great for allowing me to see students while presenting but I can’t seem to play any of the music that is linked into the PowerPoint from this option. Is there a trick to getting the music to play when presenting using the PowerPoint option in the share tray? Thank you
Awesome! How do I disable or "mute" chats while I'm in class? Not sure if I really want this but while I'm talking/presenting I don't want a gazillion outside notification chats.
Using your cellphone as a second device is really useful. I want to use the microphone on my phone as the sound quality is better but I want to view the shared content on my monitor. I keep getting the echo even after muting from my laptop. What am I missing?
As a presenter, sometimes jumping straight to the point is to formal and less personal. Making a connection to your audience draws them in and makes them feel you are speaking directly to them. It's just a technique and I personally enjoy the less formal intro.
Hi, I love the easy way to explain, I have a problem I don’t know if you can help, when sharing my screen the audio didn’t share as well and when it does you can hear the audio but there is no image the only thing they see is a black screen and the mouse but nothing else, for me is important to be able to show videos, I’m a teacher and I work with little kids virtually and a lot of the material has videos with audio, can you help?
Hi Kevin, do you need a Microsoft business account to access this ability? I was told I couldn’t do that with my Office 365 family subscription. Thank you for your help
Hi there! I had a question for you not related to this but... is there a specific recommendation for using Team meeting links for long term use? My school is recommending we use the same meeting link for live lessons for weeks on end. In trainings, we were told to change daily.... any advice?
You should point out that the microphone on the phone should be muted and speaker on the phone should be turned all the way down so there are no audio issues.

I'll add screen casting to my list of videos. For this, I didn't screen cast. Instead, I screen recorded my iPhone and then synced the audio with my main video in my editing software. This ensures the best picture quality for the iPhone video.
Thanks for sharing this info! Very helpful.
I will definitely definitely use this trick thank you very much
Hi Kavin, your tutorials are very helpful. please share with me your monitor size, brand and model number. thanks
This is my current monitor: Dell UltraSharp U3417W 34"
Hope that helps!
fantastic however you did not show how you connect ted your phone to your laptop or device
Very useful tip thanks!
Hi Kevin awesome tutorials. You mentioned using dual monitors to present and use Teams chat/hands at the same time. How is that achieved? Also how do I insert myself into my presentations using green screen or PIP while presenting? Thanks so much for your help.
You're the best bro thank you.
Thanks
Yup I will for sure use this! Now though I really would like a chocolate chip cookie!!!
You are amazing Kevin thanks a lot for your support👍 . I would like to know is it possible to copy from chat on my phone n paste it to my screen while presenting.
Another great video, Kevin. Can you do a video on Canva?
nice work great
Yes, it helps. Thanks so much.
Hi kevin doing it from a long time 😎
one other method, to present PowerPoint in a separate window and divide the screen with teams
Thanks for the note! Video coming out tomorrow morning on how to cast from phone to Mac. Stay tuned 😀
Does anyone know if you can have two organizers/presenters/administrators in the case of teachers that co-teach the same classes just on different days?
The answer starts at 3:47
Hi Kevin u am a teacher in Johannesburg ( South Africa).
It’s really annoying that we can’t see all the students while presenting....I’ll have to use my phone or iPad as second monitor 😕
Impressive how Teams is impractical to use in class - I think I'll rather use Zoom with its 40 min limit than this unwieldy piece of software. So many workarounds to achieve what Zoom just... does.
The more I use MS Teams, the more I think what were the UX Design team doing.
Such a horrible app imo.
Thank you!!
Great thanks!
Thank Kevin.
Thank you
Have you tried ticking the box that’s says something like use computer audio? It appears when you go to share options.
What am I missing?
i think u could get away without saying - "what a fantastic day today.........." and all that and come straight to the topic!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the feedback! Will continue to adjust flow in future videos.
In trainings, we were told to change daily.... any advice?
Thank you a million
Thanks but already doing it 👍
