  • This video shows you how to present your PowerPoint deck in Teams without losing visibility of your meeting - using PowerPoint Live you can present your deck while viewing your speaker notes, the meeting chat, virtual hand raises and emoji responses from participants - all on a single monitor.
    You can also co-present seamlessly using the "Take Control" feature - no more "next slide please" needed!

    Very well done my friend. This is something I will definitely be using. Loved how you recorded this with the ability to show us the experience both the attendees and the presenter will have. It's often difficult to know what others will see, and you have saved us the trouble of trying to figure all that out by just showing us!

      Thank you so much! When I’ve shown this to people in the past they get worried that everyone can see their notes too, so showing the participant view really helps. High degree of difficulty to record with 2 computers and a fake persona but it was a fun challenge and worth it!

    Thanks Lisa, I recently walked a colleague through this scenario. I will now share your video with my Team. 👍
    It's also worth noting that PowerPoint live will cache the file on the local client for attendees. This approach is much lighter on bandwidth than screen sharing and can produce a clearer image as the attendees are effectively viewing the presentation locally - the presenter isn't sending a series of screen captures based on the frames per second used in the meeting, to render the presentation on every client.
    thanks again for the video.

    • @LisaCrosbie
      @LisaCrosbie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome and thanks for that tip and explanation about the caching.

    • @sarab89hj
      @sarab89hj 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Quick question - do you still get FPS drops when sharing video? the decks I use are often more than 1gb due to images and videos? Is there a size limit to the cacheing and I am guessing it will take longer to start the live mode the bigger the deck (presentation)
      Finally s there any risk of confidentiality breaches if somebody is aware you are using PPlive and can take control, see speaker notes or download the cached presentation?

    Excellent video - very clear and a solid case to give this a go. I have tried the Present in Teams button that is in PowerPoint when I am also connected to Teams. Looks like it achieves the same interface, but I have experience problems with the audience not staying synched to the slides I was on as the present. Also, this integration seems to leave attendees with control to move forward and back in the presentation on their own. Not sure if that's an optional control.

    Great video. I have incorporated this method into my classes. It is great as well bc it allows the class to interact with the presentation if you link images on the side for a bit of asynchronous learning too. There are a few glitches and challenges bw regular presenter mode and PPT Live but it is a wonderful tool.

    Thanks for this video. I've come back to Teams this week and I have really enjoyed the changes. I love the new functionality of presenter mode but was disappointed thats when I sent the rerunning of the meeting to absent students it didn't show any of the animations or my use of the highlighter pen. Is there something I am missing? Now I know this I will make sure I mention what I am referring to on my slides but, it also means lots more slides as I often have graphics overlaid and they couldn't see this either. Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thanks for sharing this Lisa. Quick question, do you know what might be wrong if when I go to share my powerpoint in Teams, the only two things that appear are "Screen" and "Window" tabs. I don't have the ability to scroll down to look at the powerpoint files you mentioned in your video. I can't for the life of me figure out why I'm only seeing those two options and nothing else in the "share content" box. Thanks very much for any thoughts you have on this. Sylvia

    • @LisaCrosbie
      @LisaCrosbie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A couple of things to check - is your PowerPoint deck saved in OneDrive? (it needs to be for this to work). If you open your PowerPoint deck is there a "Present in Teams" button in the top right of the PowerPoint deck (new feature added since I recorded this video which is actually an even easier way to do it) and does that work?

  • @donaey4215
    @donaey4215 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video . Do you recommend I join the meeting a few minutes early and set everything up . Already have the deck up and “spot light option “ clicked ? Or do you think it’s perfectly fine to do why everybody is in the meeting ?

    • @LisaCrosbie
      @LisaCrosbie  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on the formality of the meeting. If I'm doing a formal presentation to a bigger audience, then yes, I would get in early and set it all up. For more informal or internal things, or where I want to chat face to face first (e.g. go around the room and do introductions) then I do it after the meeting starts.
