    This is the stuff that I have been waiting for - -The PowerApps! I hope to see more Kevin Cookie's tuturial about this (Power APP with Sharepoint List perhaps just throwing out an idea lol) because this channel is absolutely my "GO-CHANNEL" if I want to put forward innovation in my organisation :)
    Love that he always incorporates the Cookies side of things in the tutorials and thus I don't get bore watching from the start until the end!!

    If you add data in the app you created does it update the original data source?

    • @davidadams421
      @davidadams421 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes.

    • @PowerPlatformGeeks
      @PowerPlatformGeeks 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you connect directly to the data source the answer is yes. If you export your data into Dataverse the original datasource not affected and you will deal with Dataverse tables

I'm not clear on what the app is supposed to do. I would have loved to see a demo of the app in use regarding marketing ideas after you finished working on it.

    Hey Kevin, I want to create an app and I cannot figure out how to design the data base. I'm sure, it's simple but it just doesn't click.
    The app will be needed to standardize information about sensors.
    All i want the app to do is:
    1. Select (or add) the customer
    THEN
    2. Select (or add) a project with that selected customer
    3. Add sensors
    4. Add sensor information like location, time of calibration, etc.
    I think i need more than 1 data source but i don't know how to implement it...
    Can you help me?

    I have a lot of concerns with this sort of thing, particularly with soft locking yourself into a closed ecosystem but this is nice for quick and easy app development for businesses with locked down work systems that need a app that will work on all platforms and wont cause security flags within their locked down windows images... But I do see many hard limitations but I have only seen so much to be fair.

    • @ricardofraser4243
      @ricardofraser4243 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought the same at first too but then I reasoned Rest API Websites using any framework can connect to the data and also one can export out the data using Power Automate or rest. The data can then be ingested for use by another system

    • @devdylan6152
      @devdylan6152 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ricardofraser4243 this defeats the purpose of this entire tool though as now you are having a bulk of the entire project running on code you wrote out in another language running in another ecosystem and having to handle security etc accordingly to then interface with all of that through what is effectively just a front end tool you can only use with teams and select other ms exclusive apps/websites.... and likely have to secure them all in a way that plays nice with MS security standards and SAML...
      the goal/theme of the platform is it is something that someone with little code knowledge can use to do these things and all within the protected umbrella of MS making it easy to deploy within a enterprise business and it falls very short due to these flaws.

      Hi Linda - the type of Power App that Kevin showed is really intended to be accessible with users within your organization (aka tenant). However, there is the ability to share externally to licensed users with Azure B2C authentication. Also, there's a different type of Power App called Power Apps Portals which are meant to be used by external users
