@@RandenMontalvo those boosted six cylinders will win the race to the mechanic’s shop every time. But I think that has more to do with inexperienced owners that don’t follow the maintenance schedules. Boosted engines have more maintenance intervals than NA. This also raises the costs. Which owners ignore and end up paying for it down the road. (Or not and just sell them on craigslist).

@@RandenMontalvo Those mcclarens are bought, then sat on until the warranty expires. They aren’t daily driven. But I bet that same owner dailys a modified Nissan GTR 1400hp AWD. Boosted engines and carbon fiber parts started off in the aftermarket realm. A place where Warranties never existed and which is why the used car market always beat new car market in sales.
Cars like the IS500 and hellcat are only popular because it gives consumers an option to buy boosted and high performance cars with a warranty instead of having to build them like we did before that first fast and furious movie gave car engineers ideas to sell to their marketing departments.

@7:30 i highly disagree with the impressions of the transmission on the track.
The car is not letting you downshift if youre too high up in the rpm band to prevent you from over revving. You have to learn the powerband. I’ve taken my (older) ISF with the same transmission on the track and its an absolute blast to shift (sure manuals are funner).

A 2023 IS F with twin turbo V8...now that would be a thing if Lexus goes that bold. Short of that I'm done with Lexus performance. Just sold my LC500 (superb tourer) and had the RC F before that. That’s why you are seeing the decline on these engines.

They sorta gave the LFA away. They didn't really make any money on that car. It was originally meant to be a Toyota, but due to lengthy production delays and other problems they decided to badge it under the Lexus name in the hopes that it would still sell. Very nice review but I disagree with what you said about the transmission. Most car reviewers don't get how Lexus' Direct Shift 8-speed works. Put it in Sport +, tran on manual, traction all the way off, and push the car as hard as you can. Only then you will reap the most out of this two-faced transmission.

“Bad ass V8s”?!! It’s a 5.0 V8. It’s probably the smallest NA V8 on the market and it has been reused since the ISF release in 2007. The new IS is a pretty but it’s the same car as the last. They recycle the same shit and then pay channels on TH-cam to do these BS reviews. It’s really very obvious. Lexus F failed. The RCF track edition is a joke of a track car for 100k with the laughable “3.96” 0-60 😂.
