- The IS 500 F Sport Performance still brings V8 power under the hood. This Molten pearl special edition is 1 of 150 produced. On the outside are forged wheels, and an Invidia exhaust. On the inside there is an 8in digital gauge cluster and sport seats. Under the hood is a 5.0L V8 pumping out 472HP. @@johnkraft6053 It's old, but durable and dependable. The Eurotrash interiors are modern, but built with inferior materials and poor workmanship. It will cost you to keep them functional.
Sporty interiors are supposed to be Spartan - party on the outside, business on the inside. Foo foo interiors are for fat lazy drivers.
As OG 2011 ISF for 13yrs I’m very familiar with this platform. I can say that the IS500 and M3 are two totally different cars. The main thing they have in common is that they are both four-door rwd sport sedans. IS500 is GT car with great N/A V8 fantastic exhaust note with tons of character that will do 300k miles. The M3 is much more focused sport sedan with one of best motors BMW has made in well over decade. Now if you want to address the softer side of IS500 Add PPE jet hot coated equals length headers, hi flow cats, tune with good cat back exhaust looking at 40hp to 50hp to wheels that’s between 510hp to 520hp. Add some KWv2 or Olin’s coilovers, Figs Engineering of RR Racing LCA bushings to helps steering feel and control. Get rid of mono block calipers from the IS350 and replace them with ISF 6 piston brembo calipers that bolt right up, they have great stopping power and don’t fade with right brake pads. Now you have sharper handling,more powerful car with better braking and still all best parts of Lexus quality, build quality materials, bulletproof motor, and trans. Just a well built car.
The Lexus people sure know how to do a potent V8. Another good overall review.

No you moron..these new models with the s58 have insane performance and reliability. These are not the n54 n55 of generations ago. Lexus is basically built without performance and reliability but it s competitor. Main customers for lexus are 50 year olds and older.

Literally what I was just thinking!😂 but I love this guy man I’ve been watching him for years. One of the most informative, honest and funny car reviews in history.
Lexus is missing out on huge opportunity by not redesigning the interior. Add some orange stitching, some new elements from the RX, and ambient lighting and they would have way more buyers interested. The IS has one of the most interesting exterior designs out there. I saw one over the weekend at night.
It’s the best color I think for the IS500 F performance period. Stuns in the sun. Remember it’s a 340i alternative.

@@bsmoove69 older 340i 330i....nothing full M as its not a F car. Modern F cars are more an ode to a refined E92 Era M cars not G/F series in my view. . Older M cars like full F cars have suspension , proper cooling etc this is more like the LC500 a fantastic road car like the MXXXi series cars.

I have been dreaming of a review of this baby you delivered! The V8, rear-wheel drive, Lexus reliability, great sounds and awesome interior. Thank you so much for the review.
From someone in the market recently and test drove a tesla model s plaid, lexus RCF, lexus LC500, 2021 bmw m4 comp RWD, and a ct5v blackwing. I decided on the LC500 based on the driving dynamics of the steering feel, and most importantly the gorgeous design and visceral v8. I had all the documents sent to me and was a docu-sign email away from buying the car. Then I watched some videos of people comparing the rwd m4 to the XDrive version and to sum it up they all said it was the best of both worlds allowing u to go RWD and when in xdrive it could grip on the worst of surfaces and fly. So to make a long story shorter I test drove a 2023 bmw m4 xdrive and had a "bmw genius" show me all the mind blowing new tech thats in the car that the other cars flat out didn't have and or bmw made it more seemless. The bmw m4 xdrive is truly the best luxury sports car u can buy. It drives on a string and comes with a sense of confidence at all times. I now have an AA equal length midpipe with MAD front mount intakes. It's not a v8 but the whoosh noise from the intakes is argue is even cooler of a noise and is addicting asf. It's speed and handling with the xdrive system is a game changer. Just my thoughts.

It’s closer to a BMW M340i which is faster but priced closer. It’s not match for a true M Series. I know because I have 2023 IS500.
If you spend the money you saved on suspension, chassis upgrades, brakes, wheels tires etc., you can make it a very good M competitor

@@DM72513 Correct. I cannot speak for the IS500, but on the flip side, there are videos of intake/header/exhaust + tune RCF (on pump gas) beating an A91 Supra with downpipe + tune (on pump gas) by a few car lengths.
Who cares about the top speed and 0 to 60 anymore. It’s about the experience, if you want speed, just buy and ev and crush them both….

This is probably the only sedan I'd buy. BMW isn't as reliable.
The dash needs a refresh and the track pad belongs in the trash. Other than those things, it's a great car.
The track pad sucks. I had a 2007 Toyota Prius that had touch screen GPS that worked like a charm, so I don't know why they would use that horrible track pad in a 2024 Lexus - 17 years later.

I’d take that awesome looking IS 500 over any BMW on the road. Not because of any specs on paper. But because it’s such an awesome overall 4-door sports car that will last more than 3 decades.

The color and exhaust are worth the price of admission. This looks way better than an m3. This has a large grille that looks good on a bmw no. M3 sounds terrible. Got to work on their exhaust sound

Joe, pretty much a majority of auto manufacturers consider manual transmissions a thing of the past. Which really sucks, cause I’m an avid manual transmission enthusiast. And less and less cars are made with manual transmissions. I think Honda (Civic Type R and Integra Type S) are the few 2024 cars that comes with manual transmission option. It’s too bad Lexus didn’t want to do so with this premium IS. I would have like to have it as a manual as well. This color is wild though! Great review as always, Joe! Cheers!

This is a car I would keep forever (and it will probably outlive me, 🤣). N/A V8, RWD, and Lexus reliability. Yes please.
1. another special orange car, very original Lexus and Nissan, 2. too much $ for "special " 3. it needs a new design specially the interior. 4. We love the V8 but 500 plus hp would a monster. 5. BMW interior is better but LEXUS is more reliable. excellent review Joe as usual 👏 👍🏼 👌🏼.

I sold a 2022 BMW M240I XDrive and bought a 23 IS500 after driving a CT4 Blackwing and the IS. The caddy was definitely more of a driver’s car but Chevy quality or lack of was very obvious unfortunately. The IS drivers better than the Beamer which felt like driving a video game with zero feedback and just numb. The Lexus just feels way more premium better steering brake feel and sound from the V8 and the infotainment is on another level.
Say what one will about IS 500 F Sport being out dated but I’d take it over the M3 any day. I miss analog gauges but I love this car

Those calipers are not stock. Those come from the ISF. They bolt right up but definately not stock.
