    Hello Dave, just bought these for my birthday a few days ago. I know that opinions are devided on the V-moda headphones but as a primarily listener to electronic music I always liked V-modas. I had the LP2, WIreless 2, Wireless 2 Codex Edition and I can confirm that these do sound better especially in wireless mode compared to the previous ones. I know people talk about Sony and other headphones kinda sounding better in some ways but what drives me away from them is the build quality kinda feels cheap to me even on the higher point models, they just feel cheap and plasticky and I don’t feel like they hold on to my head to form a proper seal. That's why I never minded V-Moda not having ANC because the seal on the head and at higher volumes I can't hear anything around me anyways. I am glad that you gave them a try and it's nice to see that you've like them.

    Thank you! This is the most honest review I have seen on TH-cam. Other reviews seem to have their bias tied into their reviews. They clearly were not their favorite brand or loved them too much. Your video is honest.

    Their over ears headphones are built like tanks and they have a great replacement warranty.
    Their portability is outstanding. And for general everyday on the run use they are a viable option.
    Chances are if you have a pair. They will end up with more daily use time than most headphones in your collection.
    Will they wow and amaze you with the whatever audiophile term you want to throw at them.. Probably not.
    They’ll sound good and wear even better.
    It’s kinda like the moped analogy. “Hella fun, wouldn’t want my audiophile friends to see me wearing one” …
    Great review ad always!❤

      @@TheHonestAudiophile i have to mention the headband leather peeled off, i repainted it also there was rust behind the cushions caused by ear sweat so I definitely recommend the XL cushions overall it's build like a tank.

    Thats shicking. Everytime i see a review of something with a lot of bass, typically vocals take a back seat. Nice to see they managed to balance the two

    Thank you for reviewing the cable mic. I have had VModa headphones for over a deacade, currently on the Crossfade LP-2's and I agree I often get complaints about the muffled mic. The problem is when the opening of the mic is facing your shirt. I often find myself adjusting it to turn it around and once I do that it's no problem. Rubbing on your shirt is also a problem, I solved this by simply clipping it to my shirt with any ole clip.

    Great review! Thank you so much! I have the CROSSFADE m100 master's and there are amazing, the issue is I just got a cat and he wants to eat the cord, so I was looking into what v-moda had for wireless. I love their sound signature and based on your description, they have managed to keep it alive in a wireless version which is great news to me. Thanks for the lively review, cheers!

    Wow, what a surprise, I didn’t know they were coming out with these. Thanks for telling us about them!
    I have the Crossfade 2 wireless, and my reaction to them is exactly the way you reacted to the Crossfade 3, surprised that they were as good as they were. But, I prefer them wired over wireless, maybe with the new ones the wireless is improved?

    • @TheHonestAudiophile
      @TheHonestAudiophile  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Interesting. Possible updated Bluetooth version might help. The difference is minimal between wired and wireless but is better slightly wired. For my use cases though the difference wasn't enough to bother with a wire.
      Thanks for watching and commenting.

      @@TheHonestAudiophile you are welcome.
      I also have the Momentum 3 wireless and I just did a head to head with the Crossfade 2 to see which one was coming with me on vacation after Sunday church, and the Momentum 3 won, for comfort and for sound quality.

    Thanks Dave for the great reviews. As for Bluetooth, I'm the same, but I heard good things about the Moondrop Little White and snagged one on Prime Day...The app is ridiculous but fuctional, but the sound...My mind's changing on Bluetooth. You should try it if you haven't gotten a unit in yet for review.

    I mean do they on paper beat out all the competition, no. But let me tell you as a vmoda owner for 8 years. they are built to last. They do not break. like ever. I think they sound great and I’m happy to spend the money when I know I will have them for years to come

    Thanks for your thoughts and time. I would be curious on your opinion about the Momentum 4, and how they compare to the Crossfade 3s. I had the Crossfade 2 before and now the Momentum 4; I think the Momentum 4 sounds better and is more comfortable, but don't know if the sound is still better vs. the Crossfade 3.

    Well done lad. My problem with the cans is the price point with no bloody active NC. That's insane in this market today. Look at their competition. Sony, Sennheiser and even companies like Soundcore will be absolutely trouncing them in the marketplace.
    Thanks for your honest impressions lad. Much appreciated notwithstanding the competition.

    • @TheHonestAudiophile
      @TheHonestAudiophile  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Totally understand that active noise cancelling is priority for some but I also think there are some, like myself, who don't put a priority on it . Price is a bit steep for sure. Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing.

    hi dave i just found this channel and i love the way you describe things! i habe the hd650s and im considering these for on the go. could you speak on where these would fall short in comparison to those? Thank you for your video and ill be back

    • @TheHonestAudiophile
      @TheHonestAudiophile  ปีที่แล้ว

      V-Moda is bass heavy in comparison and lacks the details and resolution of the 650. Also the 650 has more space and air and is better with imaging.
      Glad you enjoy the channel content. Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated.

    Would consider them if price was $150. Also should have provided xl earcups at that price point.
    Still too much, with xl earcups the price would be more agreeable at around $170

    Over priced garbage, with multiple design faults......
    Been thru 3 pairs of their pro range in the last 4 years.......
    Every single pair failed becasue of bad design or poor workmanship.
    and no... their warranty is bull S*** as well, it is country specific.
    but you only find that out when you go and try to register for the extended warranty...

      Take a look at the cable entry, they claim that there is over a million cycles available on the cables they use , but where the metal "Y" fork passes over the cable, it bends it a 90 degrees and "fluffs up" the outer cable. leading to failure.
      Next up the metal grills inside, should be concave inwards, becasue they are convex they
      press against your ears and over time they get corroded by sweat & grease...
