Happy Birthday David. I wish you many more healthy and happy years to come🎊🎂💐 Now this is what I call lifestyle estates. There is so much to do without leaving the premises. Beautiful 👌
This kind of developments that only cater for the rich are the reason why we always have shacks mushrooming everywhere near major development , every city must accommodate low income earners who obviously work in this developments… but the place looks amazing 🥳
Now that would need a private public partnership but than u know the government we have corrupt to the core look at how corrupt jpc is swindling funds that should be used for maintaining properties n their infrastructure in the CBD
Good point yes this beautiful indeed but it also makes you question the values of our country, it's just more promotion of inequality, huge gaps in standard of living. Capitalism promotes that people are in control of their money but in honesty how many people can afford this life in South Africa, usually people doing the construction, service jobs, maintenance, cleaning in these areas they are the most disregard people and are usually from very poor communities. The positive side is it allows an individual to dream and have ambition in life. Again someone can challenge me on my opinion but you must look at things from all angles.

Private development = high quality life for the elite 10% = exclusion from rest of society = promotion of separation system = high level of inequality = capitalism = poor serve the elite: Im sure not so far there will be informal settlements. This is part of my study as a Town Planner
Informal settlements have as much to do with poor town planning, poor national and local governance (lack of provision of low income housing areas), and poor enforcement of the law, as people being wealthy. People will continue to build shacks randomly if the government allows it. Contrary to popular belief, the UK has huge poverty, but you do not get shacks mushrooming everywhere because it simply isn't tolerated.
@@marigoldbeam5475Exactly. Private industry and the government need to work to uplift these people and being then out of this dire poverty. Because someone is rich doesn't automatically mean that what they have was stolen from someone else.
Can't believe that a year later the city centre is still not complete, what a building thats gonna be... David, do you know if there are gonna be more Penthouses besides the 2 there are now ?
This estate is well-conceived for the security realities of South Africa, although I understand it is situated near a large, impoverished township; and the facilities look like they will be outstanding when completed. However, I find the identikit nature of the houses uninspired and aesthetically unpleasing. It would be beautiful to see individuality and creativity in the architecture, and indeed some splashes of colour here and there.
Steyn City is the best(and one of if not the most expensive) estate in the country by far.. Watch the 2 video's David made last year, this one is a continuation of them, nothing else comes close
So strange that with drone capabilities, you have not sufficiently showcased the deteriorating 300m iconic lagoon. A star feature that certainly does not appear to be well maintained. Very short pan during your intro. Considering a move and this footage does not look progressive, comparative to prior vids done. Really looks like a ghost town in certain sectors? How recent is this footage? Tx nonetheless for your insights.
