- Hey guys, welcome back to the channel. Soooooo sorry about the lack of videos this week! Life's been....well life, and I was having some technical difficulties with making videos, so I had to sort those all out. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy my latest Ninjago Theory video!

I think the Overlord is like a shadow of the First Spinjitzu Master. Everyone has their dark side, but for a being as powerful as the FSM his dark side probably manifested itself into reality in order to balance his meer presence in the world. That darkside was Overlord.
Same I thought it was the oni side of the first spinjitsu master since we never see him upset for nothing and we know he never picked a side so what if in order to keep Ninjago safe, he tried to destroy his oni side but ended up separating him from it entirely

In the last season the overlord was seen as kind of oni form and in season 2 like a dragon, so that could be true because the FSM is stated to be both oni and dragon. So the FSM could be the good side of oni and dragons and the other side is the overlord.

Yeah in hindsight these are perfect opposites. I do not think that the overlord must be FSM's brother. I think that he originally might have been born from the power of the 3 oni masks: vengance, deception, hatred. These 3 character traits are very much a part of the overlord. Nothing can really describe him further.
And if you look at the crystal king in crystallized (which has been confirmed to be the overlord) looks a lot like an oni and the brick built crystal king has four legs a tail and wings

Well the overlord doesn't really hold a grudge, he doesn't really want revenge or anything he just wants to control Ninjago, he even tried to recruit Lloyd to his council which isn't something that someone with a grudge would do
I have a Ninjago theory. Has anyone ever stopped to think who Wu and Garmadon’s mom is? Remember Mistake? The oni lady from the Hunted season? Not only did she meet the FSM, she seemed to know him quite well…
the master can create anything, he just created them out of thin air

I remember they said the overlord was “born out of the shadows” somewhere. Now, I get that they were both born to balance good and evil, and honestly it makes sense. The first spinjitzu master was “born” and the overlord as well.
In episode 20 season 2 Lloyd's mom said after the creation of the Ninjago there's even the darkest of shadows he is called THE OVERLOAD if you seen the scene where you see a shadow-like-wicked smile before it become a frown
Actually, I've alway thought the Overlord could be The Master's brother. Both despite having the powers of Creation or Destruction they always favor one over the other, and have only ever used the other element once (Th Overlord using Creation to make his Stone Warriors and The Master using Destruction to Split Ninjago).
And it would explain why the Overlord acted like he knew Garmadon personally, as he was his Nephew.
So I guess It makes sense.
Maybe it'll be revealed as true in Ninjago season 16, a secret even Garmadon and Wu didn't know about their father and their uncle.
What?? It doesn't even say how fsm was born? and it says thaat the overlord was born in ninjagos darkest places? he literally feeds off of negativity and is made of darkness? how would he be related to the fsm when he was made to counteract him

If they are truly brothers, then Misako really missed that part and the ninjas should´ve connected the dots after March of the Oni.
Well, Wu, Misako, and Garmadon have all hidden or straight up lied to the ninja before. And sometimes, the ninja just take things at face value. For example, they never questioned where their powers came from until season 4, Tournament of Elements. In fact, Garmadon didn't even want to explain it to them. So, if this theory is true, then it could just be Wu and the others hiding the truth until it becomes relevant.
Misako left Lloyd UNTRUSTWORTHY. Garmadon is evil! UNTRUSTWORTHY. Wu said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING(!) about overlord, wojira, aspheera, Chen, morro, I could go on. UNTRUSTWORTHY! MISTAKE IS A FLIPPING ONI!!! WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT!

@@ZT-Unseen actually no wu straight up told the ninja who and what the overlord is in full backstory the overlord is the expelled dark energy the was created when the wu’s father told him the story’s around a campfire after Ninjago was created the world needed to balance the scales since only light and the powers of creation existed at that point so the leftover darkness was birthed into the overlord at the exact moment Ninjago was created we know this because Ninjago did not exist until wu’s and garmadons father got there this was confirmed in sons of garmadon by mistahke the good oni lady as she retells Ninjago/Lloyd’s history so if anything overlord was birthed by wu’s farther possibly making wu and the overlord and garmadon brothers but definitely not wu’s fathers brother, we have gotten confirmation on this multiple time up until this point
There is a theory that the overlord is the oni side of the fsm that he cast out
It’s backed up by the fact that he said to garmadon that his power (implying his oni powers) were a gift from him, he knew also new about the oni which if he was only created as the darkness to the fsm’s light he likely wouldn’t know
The power which the overlord holds is referred to as the power of darkness which is either stated or implied to be the purest form of destruction, which would make him the opposite to the fsm’s power of creation which in it’s purest form could be light, just as Lloyd’s element of energy appears to be a less pure or potent form of creation.
the new masks for the crystal king definitely have a mixture between oni and dragon, so i've been assuming that as fact since the sets were shown
I think that the first spin jutsu master might have accidentally performed mitosis and expelled all of his negative or dark emotions and desires thus creating the overlord.
My theory is that overlord is something like a counter part to the FSM, like the Anti-Pops and Pops from regular show. The overlord is basically born to balance the good in the FSM but proceed to remain after FSM death.

Ive been wondering this lately. It seems like they shoudl give the Overlord more lore/make him more 3 demensional if hes gonna return.
Well let's see.
There's the theory of it just being the evil of FSM which he cast aside, I feel like maybe someday Lloyd may finally defeat him for good, perhaps by merging the Overlord with himself in order to restore TRUE balance and unlike the FSM he manages to keep his evil side under wraps, this could be why they had Garmadon training him to control his 'Oni side' as it would teach him later how to tame his dark side so he could merge the Overlord with himself to forever keep their souls intertwined.
Doesn't this mean Lloyd should have sibling to balance him out?🤨
That what I was thinking…. I actually came up with a whole fan fiction storyline for it. Maybe I’ll do a video on it sometime

In these type of stories there is always an asteroid that crashes, so the overlord came from that asteroid.

Random Ninjago thought, remember In the tournament of elements when Kai betrayed Chen and said that he forgot one element ,the element of surprise. Well he did actually forgot one and that's the element of water because nya did not know she was a master yet

This theory actually makes a lot of sense the 2 beings being brothers, both Oni-Dragon Hybrids with one being similar to an Oni in body but having the morality and using mostly the same powers as a dragon while the other has a body similar to a Dragon but acts similar and primarily uses the powers of an Oni, with the 2 brothers also being mortal incarnations of light and darkness, good and evil, prospority and surfering, Yin and Yang in-order to represent the balance and insure that the balance of good and evil will continuin to go on as long as they live
the overlord is darkness the stone army is different how its hard to explain but the creation of the stone army is he can only create darkness stuff

But the 1 st master of spinjitzu is born from dragon but can use less of destruction
imo the fsm(first spinjutzu master) left his dark side(oni blood) apart from him after wu and garmadon was born using some type of technique and got his blood to be mostly dragon blood while somehow maintaining human shape and that side came back to take revenge for being left behind

what if overlord is a oni, the last one to follow the first spinjitzu master to the ninjago and the great fight between the first spinjitzu master and the overlord started because the overlord wanted the first spinjitzu masters powers, to him to become a golden master and to rule all 16 realms in the ninjago
I think it'a true, in season 3 we can see Overlord do spinjitsu as well
But that's only because he had the golden power (which is made by the power of Creation).
Yes but how can he wield the weapons if in season 10 the oni feared them because they have the power of creation

I’ve had my own theory, why does the overlord hate the fsm so much, my theory is that before ninjago there was a ruler above wojira the overlord hence the name and when the fsm intervened and replaced darkness and destruction with light and creation he swore to destroy idk about the related part much but it’s a good theory just thought I might put mine here
I do believe the first Ninja to master could be brothers with the overlord it is a perfect match

@@ZT-Unseen I want Lego to do something similar to what Joshua Deck (joshuad17) did in his fanfiction. What if the FSM and Overlord were just two of an entire pantheon of god-like beings who were all children of Oni and Dragon. The only thing I’d change would be to have the First Spinjitzu Master and Overlord be twins. However, that might not be good as it could potentially side-line Wu and Garmadon’s bro vs bro arc. Thank you for this extremely relevant video! I honestly don’t know why more people aren’t talking about this.
@@chrissavage1449 Yes, with the Overlord possibly coming back in Ninjago’s upcoming season, I feel like some lore more should be added to his character.
With your thoughts about them not being the only descendants of Oni and Dragon, I’m beginning to think so too! There is so much lore to be explored here, like how were the 16 realms created and why are there only 16? We know that the Oni and Dragon live in the First Realm, so did they create the others, or did their descendants?
It is kind of hard to create a story that is not a direct parallel to the story of Garmadon and Wu, but that might just add to the garmadon family always being the ones who must keep the balance. They didn’t choose this life, but destiny choose them. Idk, it’s just an idea after all, but an interesting one for sure.

Good. Okay. What do we know about Overlord? Most importantly, he is the ONLY immortal character in the series. This already destroys the theory that FSM and Overlord are brothers. Also, the Overlord cannot leave the Ninjago realm, unlike the FSM. In fact, the Overlord acts as something like a "god of darkness". There is also no confirmation that Over did not exist before the creation of the Ninjago realm, so it could also be before One and Dragons

Good explanation, one question though: When in Ninjago does it say that the Overlord is actually immortal? Also, how could he exist before the Oni and the Dragons? They are from the "First" realm, which implies that all other realms came after it.

Theory Imagine The FSM was a god to the Islanders and the FSM shadow was alive and got fed up he didn’t get treated like the FSM so when the FSM visited the Islanders the FSM shadow took over the body of a Islanders dragon and quickly escaped to the other side of Ninjago and called himself the Overlord

I think this is fax because the first spinjitsu master have a humanoid form just like the oni and the overlord true form is a dragon just like the dragons now the oni and the drangon are enemies just like the ying yang.
Hold on I made mistake
When I said ying yang I meant that there is balance because if both the overlord and the master were dragons there will not be balance the dragons will be more shown
It said on the Ninjago fandom Wikipedia that the OVERLOAD was created from the darkest of shadows after the creation of Ninjago witch started the FIRST war of the new realm in it's golden age the grandfather of Lloyd garmadon didn't know that the overlord existed till the conflict began they fought but their powers would balance each other out so the overlord created the stone army to even the score as a result the grandfather had to spilt Ninjago in end as a result the war didn't finish till thousands of years later.

Also he's a spirit and his Original Form was a Dragon, The definition of spirit is the soul of a living being or a ghost,
He never displays any of his powers from his backstory as a disembodied voice meaning in his backstory and the fact his Original form is a Dragon, means he was originally a Dragon made of Darkness and could use his own form of creation and maybe oni powers( he seen using a oni temple in the new season), which means he was killed in his dragon body but he still had his army and his soul remained after death thus Ninjago was spilt into two

The Overlord is an ancient Evil Spirit.
You can say it's his supposed "brother", yet I doubt that.
If the Overlord is a dragon yet can also be a Spirit, then what does that say exactly? Plus, why is it that he can manifest new forms, if he isn't a dragon?
Unless, he started as a Dragon and later became corrupted and turned into an Evil Spirit. I feel the Overlord is just the embodiment of malevolence is all. He is an Evil Spirit. That's it. Though, he is pretty badass.

If so, the I doubt it. The original elemental masters were the guardians of the First Spinjitzu Master, so I don’t think they would be his kids or anything.
If there most always be balance then Lloyd most have a biological sibling with distucion power.

i don't think they're brothers, the overlord was made from the darkness of ninjago not made from oni and dragon's, he's not part oni part dragon. the FSM represents balance while the overlord represents darkness and evil. also mistake would've mentioned they were brothers and that the overlord was part oni part dragon in the tale of oni and dragons. the overlord may have a dark fog like the oni, but the effects are very different, the overlord's fog brings out the darkness and evil in people, the oni's fogs petrifies people and things, also the first realm dragons have wings on their back, the overlord's wings are apart of his arms also the overlord dragon looks vastly different from both oni and dragons. the overlord may have created the stone warriors but that doesn't mean he has the power of creation, being able to create things and the power of creation are very different. also if the overlord was part oni part dragon, he would've been defeated in a similar way to garmadon or the oni or even have similar weaknesses to dragons like vengestone, but he was defeated by lloyd or zanes heart exploding. he prbably knows about garmadon and was expecting him because he probably corrupted the great devourer who then bit garmadon, giving him the overlords corruption. also if the over lord was the FSM's brother and/or part oni part dragon, he wouldn't pick a side, he would probably use both powers to their full extent, and the overlords power is very different to the FSM's, he even needs the golden armor/weapons to have the golden power, if he was the first spinjitsu masters brother and part oni part dragon he would have automatically had this power, yes i know he was in a weakened state but he still would have had them. also the analogy that the overlord is destruction using creation and the FSM is creation using destruction is flawed because the overlord is darkness and created things, he doesn't have the power of creation, and the FSM, again, represents balance and uses both powers, and when he splits ninjago he isn't necessarily using either power. finally the FSM and the overlord take on very different forms, and the overlord isn't shapeshifting, he's just entering different states, also in the legend of the FSM and the overlord when we see the overlord being made, and in the rest of the legend, he takes a form that is vastly different from both oni and dragons. so yeah, the overlord and the first spinjitsu master are not brothers.
The overlord was created bc where there is light there is always shadow plus the overlord cannot be an oni bc the oni cannot be a dragon and the overlord became the dragon is S2

Ok, the overlord and fsm are definitely opposites, but not brothers. It's not a garmadon situation where one got transformed by something, and they are from different realms! It's a fun theory backed by good evidence, but they are not brothers.

And since he was both light and dark Ninjago appeared as one side light and one side dark so of course a dark evil appeared on one side since part oni and the other side with nothing but light and it even said without dark there cannot be light so basically what I’m saying is
The first spinjitsu master had a darkness in him which appeared on the other side ninjago since he’s oni and dragon light and dark
