Makuta Teridax, the main villain from Lego Bionicle, while not representing the concept of evil incarnate in that world, did many, much worse things than the Overlord. That guy, when he was on the side of good, ended a war by feeding the warriors to the local animal exhibition. When he became evil, he commanded an army that wiped out all live on several islands, erasing entire species from existence. He hired bounty hunters that wiped out an entire team of elemental heroes that protected the capital city. He murdered at least three people by himself, two of them were villains though. He also executed a plan that resulted in the death of eight of his siblings because he considered them competition. And then he ruled the world as a godlike being for two months before a moon crashing on him ended his career. And people were so scared by him and his mysterious powers (shapeshifting, darkness, destruction etc.) that they started to believe that he was an evil brother of the Great Spirit they worshipped. Fun fact: when the character was brought back for the 2016 Netflix show the designers showed a version of him that looked a lot like the Crystal King titan, which the community since then called Overlord Makuta. There is certainly a meta connection between those characters.
I honestly wish that the overlord would have a chance to fight the ice emperor, imagine the fear of fighting someone who has defeated you before, now stronger than they could’ve possibly ever been before. It would’ve been a really good scene showing the dynamic between the two and how much they have grown.
I just gotta say, I love how the writers included the Great Devourer bit. It turned the overlord into the villain from S2-S3 to the villain of the entire series. The Overlord started the conflict, then was defeated at the end of the series. As much as people rip on crystalized, it made sure the Overlord will go down in history as the biggest Ninjago villain and I couldn’t be happier about that!!!
Exactly! It made it so the Overlord was the true orchestrator behind Garmadon’s fall and how he has been planning everything out since the very beginning. One of the best things Crystalized has done honestly.

When he eventually returns with the merged world I wonder how strong he will be with all realms being combined think of the speed he also gets his strength back, I’d also say with the departed realm he’d have a really strong army and maybe he’ll get close this time for his villian council (I think with the merge clouse would become human as I’m guessing the departed realm will be a secluded island and you need some sacrifice or just someone who knew the person you want back and sacrifice a pig or something and then anyone who escapes/is freed/is resurrected becomes human so clouse would) but just imagine his power

I still suprised that Scott McNeil The Voice of Dinobot, Rattrap, Silverbolt and Waspinator in Transformers Beast Era Voices The Overlord. Scott McNeil did an Incredible Performance Bringing This Terrifying Monster To Life.
I am wondering if the overlord is the first spinjistu masters oni half which was expelled from the first spinjistu masters body? it would explain where he came from and why he turned into a dragon of all things in season 2, and maybe the reason he wants the powers of creation on his side is because they technically belong to him it would also explain why he knows spinjistu in the third season. the overlord might genuinely want to bring his twisted vision of peace to ninjago.
Could you do a complete history of Aspheera and Morro? (Maybe even Nadakhan, since I've seen the comments you've made to people asking for a certain character to be next being "Your wish, is yours to keep.")
You also forgot to mention that the Overlord's Crystal King form was destroyed by the Golden Ultra Dragon after it picked him up and flew around his temple, before tossing him into the central crystal, destroying it. I believe that the only reason the Overlord wasn't defeated earlier in the season was because of the central crystal, and that his physical form emerged from the crystal.
Can we talk about the fact the first and last times we see the Overlord both of his plans (excluding Rebooted) involved corruption like plans… one was with Darkness and one was with Crystals
I was disappointed when the Overlord had no interaction with Zane, i mean sure his interaction with Lloyd and Garmadon was cool but i wanted Zane to be included And i don't really like it how he went from Invincible Stone Army to Nindroids with Laser eyes just to an Cristalized Stone Army, why not a mix of both with his Dark Abilities and new Technology
"Humbly, I am Pythor P. Chumsworth. And since you've freed me, I am eternally in your service." - Pythor P. Chumsworth, Rise of the Snakes, Episode 4: Never Trust a Snake
Say what you want about the overlord’s return. There was genius behind it. To make him the one behind everything and be the one to pull strings behind Garmadon and Harumi, while also playing an indirect influence in most other villains in the series. It’s also clear why the Overlord cannot be destroyed. There can’t be balance without Darkness, so the Overlord literally has to exist.
The dangerous thing about the Overlord is that his plans get better over time to the point he will have victory one day. He is nice and patient with his servants but deceptive to his allies and enemies. The main question is why didn't the Overlord incorporate the Oni into his dark army since he should be seen as a god to the dark entities.
Can we talk how pretty much the most climactic ending for the story happened at s2? Granted, I am now 22 years old, and I did not commit to watching the rest of the series since even as a kid, I felt spent after the battle with the overlord (thatvsaid I did watch the tournament season along with rebooted, unfortunately, and the master class that is the sons of Garmadon) Of course, they thought that it was going to be discontinued after this, but it’s still a bummer that the most climactic battle happened at the beginning of the series rather than at the end
The death of Zane is the saddest episode to me lol. But who says the Overlord will not return? Light and shadow cannot live without each other. So that means, just because you defeated the Overlord doesn't mean he will not return, for he will get his revenge again. As Misako said: "Where there is light, there also will be shadow" As the Overlord said too: "Where there is light, there will also be shadow" They were right. Same goes for human nature too. Where there is good, there will also be evil.
I hate how ninjago makes everything about Lloyd…he didn’t defeat the overlord twice…he defeated him the first time and Zane completely defeated him the second time (he was resurrected by harumi, so he was killed by Zane either way) But they should’ve have had an interaction him and Zane.
Okay, lot of things wrong here. I 100% agree Zane should’ve had an interaction with the Overlord in this season. First of all, Harumi didn’t resurrect the Overlord, rather, he resurrected her. The Overlord was never killed, his physical vessel was destroyed, rendering him harmless. He is an immortal spirit and cannot be destroyed. Harumi merely just granted him another physical form. The sad thing is, the Overlord is actually still out there, and technically could be brought back once again, but I find it unlikely Ninjago will bring him back. Making everything tie back to the overlord’s influence was brilliant planning, but that saga is over, so I doubt the overlord would return. And also, Lloyd’s the main guy, he’s the green ninja and the overlord is essentially his polar opposite. Though I will admit they completely dismiss Zane’s sacrifice in this line here: “I have returned. Your grandfather fought me and failed. Your father fought me and also failed. You tried twice and failed just like your forbearers.” Correction: Lloyd defeated him once. It was all Zane the second time. The Overlord is Lloyd’s arch-nemesis. Don’t get me wrong he hates Zane just as much as the other ninja, but Zane merely just sacrificed himself to save his friends, though again, the writers could’ve at least had Zane and The overlord together on-screen. It was poor foresight to have Lloyd be the only ninja who actually got to personally confront him in this season. Okay, sorry for the rant, I just really needed to get that off my chest. Got a little of track but my main point was saying the overlord was never killed, since he’s Darkness, and if there is to be a balance, he literally has to exist.
@ that’s all fair, except one thing. Lloyd may be the green ninja but doesn’t mean he should had more attention than the others. He’s had like 3 season dedicated to him and the ice emperor season was meant to be a Zane and Kai season but lo and behold it was Lloyd.
@@archieoutdoors3340 agreed. They do not need to focus on Lloyd that much. We had seasons 2, 8, 9, and this one as well. I do like how season 13 finally gave Cole some focus. Zane is like my favorite Ninja so I wish he got more focus season. For him, it was just season 3 and 11. Lloyd somehow managed to get some sub-mini arc in the ice Emperor season when it was mainly focusing on Kai and Zane. I love Lloyd, but it’s okay to shine the spotlight on the other ninja every once and a while.
He is.He deserve the one and final batlle with ninja for one last time as a final boss.If that would be the thing in dragon rising i would love this to be a similar situation like with emperror Garmadon where he have reached his goal and got defeated in another season. But honestly that may not happen because overlord is indestructible as he is the evil itself which is a part of the balwnce.

Ok guys who would win? Overlord or the guy who created pop-up ads?
He is a great bad guy
He is.He deserve the one and final batlle with ninja for one last time as a final boss.If that would be the thing in dragon rising i would love this to be a similar situation like with emperror Garmadon where he have reached his goal and got defeated in another season. But honestly that may not happen because overlord is indestructible as he is the evil itself which is a part of the balwnce.
@@Sen7513 now it's either that they reintroduce overlord or they create a new bas guy. But to be honest I don't think garmadon should be the last bad guy.

Unpopular opinion : I hate overlord’s crystal king voice his original voice is better
All of it so far
Will the overlord come back in dragons rising?
I assume so since he’s immortal, but he’s come back so many times already that it just seems repetitive now.
Do lord garmodon pls.
My favorite villain is piethore 😊
Do Master chen please
The only way I could do that was if you had to do a lot more work and then you would be done by yourself so you would be fine and then
The oni are the devil but they embody destruction not evil the overlord embodies evil
