  • Do not try this yourself. I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
    I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
    Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

  • @erpbridge
    @erpbridge 2 ปีที่แล้ว +169

    Might sound strange, but... your heat is mostly going into the air, piling against the ceiling, and then finding a way out. If you remember the culvert, the concrete absorbed and held the heat. Use that concept... put something thick, like chunk of metal (the TV) or porcelain (the toilet), or stone (the lamp body) near the heater, possibly even directly in the path. They'll act as heat sinks (just like that metal bedframe), hold that temperature, and then slowly release it. Hold that temperature NEAR YOU, down near floor level, not going straight up.

      Or finally falling asleep that night… and just never waking up ever again!? 😱🥶😱 Holy, snap-dragons!!! 🙅‍♀️ Nope. Thx, but no thx… that could NEVER be me in there. 😌
      Besides, I’m from (& still in) the Deep South… we do not experience anything like this. The coldest winter-weather I’ve EVER experienced in my life (thus far), was during that “deep freeze” & light snow (actual snow, too! Not the wet/cold slush we usually get, if anything.) we had back in 2017. Which got down to 20-22°F during the day & about & a few places with temps in the teens, esp. at night (15-17°F +/-) on the Northshore, but that’s about it. 😂🤷‍♀️

    Just a FYI, typically, hotels/motels are insulated on the exterior walls, and only top floor ceilings. A running hotel/motel will be heated from within by the individual rooms, as well as the common areas of the facility.

    Wow that's a temperature I've never seen, never been in....
    Humidity is the killer here in Ireland 🇮🇪, we get so damp, cold wind and luckily rarely get big snow events or serious ice where the water would freeze like I see you get over there....
    We did see back in 2010 -17C which was crazy as I'd never witnessed anything like it.
    That year people were actually able to walk out on lakes and that but still nowhere near sage to do so.
    Great to see you doing these explore and love seeing all the different content too.
    Have to say quite risky doing that stay, could be the time some tolls would come in to set on fire.
    Hello from Ireland 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
    If you're ever doing this again, what I'd do is bring more with you, pillows, sleeping bag, tape to tape up the door, a generator to get a hot blanket going and a light and you could do some other stuff having one, when moving stuff open window and door to get air to circulate, then close it all up. Definitely more blankets, another heater and mattress protector etc... That mattress has to be damp

    I loved the video. When you talked about how you might freeze to death without the heater you kind of got me thinking however. In a previous comment there were tips on quality clothes and sleeping bags etc. and I totally agree you'd be safer and more comfortable with better gear. What would you have done had your heater malfunctioned? What if you'd been unable to get back to your car for some reason or your car not been accessible for another reason? Stay safe. I like your videos and I would hate to see you get hurt.
