Van Der Beek and Biggs's chemistry is on point. They should have done more stuff together.
Like the Affleck Damon chemistry in Dogma. Kevin always gets the best out of the actors.
@@MichaelBradley1967 The difference being though that Affleck and Damon have been close friends for years (obviously writing Good Will Hunting together), while Biggs and Van Der Beek didn't know each other before this movie (and ironically didn't work together again until Jay & Silent Bob Reboot).

James Van Der Beek was so obviously smiling and holding back the laughter in 90% of the scene. Makes you wonder how many times he must have cracked up needing this take/compilation to be the best one.

Two nice, subtle jokes in this scene.
- Jason Biggs calling Jay "Ray" is an inside joke to the live-action Clerks TV series ABC wanted to make after the success of the original film (different from TAS), where execs threatened to replace Jay with a character named Ray because they didn't want Jason Mewes on the project.
- Again with Biggs, it makes sense that he doesn't know there's a script. He's playing Silent Bob. Who's silent.

You should watch Rules of Attraction. Great movie and he was really good in it. It was adapted from a novel written by Brett Easton Ellis, the same author who wrote American Psycho. The character he plays is even the brother of Patrick Bateman.

This film is a really strong late 90s early 2000s time capsule.. you really had to be living in the time or at least extremely familiar with the film and TV culture of the late 90s and early 2000s to really appreciate the cameos and references.
