Clerks 2 was a fine ending. They bought the store and had a shitty life after that.
He also got fucked over on both movies financial wise which on the first one he obvious forgave.
Jason Lee is such a great actor, he played 4 different characters in the View Askewniverse (Brodie, Banky, Azrael, and Picklefucker) and they each feel like completely different people, each with their own attitude, way of talking, and everything. I mean even within this very movie you don't get Brodie and Banky confused for a single minute despite being played by the same actor.
An he also broke out of scientology. So there's that too

I love how each Jay and Silent Bob is like an artifact that says a lot about the film industry at the time of their release.
I mean the Super Hero craze hadn't really happened yet if that's what you're referencing this movie pretty much predicted it, or maybe Kevin Smith was just aware of the movement.

It is a great comedy....but only for Kevin Smith fans who know all the characters and references from his previous movies. At _best_ this would be kinda funny, dumb, stoner comedy to have on in the background at your birthday party when you were a teenager for most people.

It was weird enough to have various characters across different movies in the same universe played by the same actor, but here they brought them togheter, resulting in the same actor playing different roles in the same movie, and it was just surreal.

Chasing amy without a doubt is such a classic in my eyes n it's well deserved to. I'm proud of Kevin for writing chasing amy as a sorta apology to Joey Lauren Adam's during the time they were dating.

Fun fact: Brodie's Secret Stash in reality is really Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash in Red Bank, New Jersey. There was also one in Los Angeles until it closed down in 2009. Inside were props from Kevin's movies AND even the 2003 Daredevil suit.

There was an alternative sub culture in the 1990s, and we were into star wars, marvel, comic books and generally being childish and stupid. All Kevin's characters are based on this subculture and what was going on at the time with young people.
Hard to believe now, but Marvel and Star Wars just weren't popular in the 1990s. You were only into these things if you were living an alternative, bohemian lifestyle.
Kevin didn't invent any of this. His movies are just a commentary of what was going on at the time, with some young people.
