Best 24 Ridgeline review yet, I have been waiting for a complete review on the Black Edition before I order one Thanks for showing all the options ( Need the ventilated seats for southern Heat) Thanks from South Ga.
I just bought my 2023 Honda Ridgeline sport which is the base model and it still comes with a ton of standard equipment.. I'm a No Frills person and don't like leather I am more of a cloth seat person so it fits me perfect
@@stw2186 No real difference other than the Trailsport suspension is softer and it comes with AT tires instead of street tires. It's not a true Trailsport in the way the new Pilot is, it's just a minor trim difference. The suspension isn't even any taller than the other Ridgeline trims.
Need to mention the mirrors can fold in electronically ...I just bought this exact truck today. Mine has black badging on the tailgate...looks great. This is my third Ridgeline. I'm a huge fan.
7:20 thanks for showing this off, this was my biggest question I had about the new Honda gauge cluster and no other video showed it. I'm used to having that display on my Ford's gauge cluster, and the previous Ridgeline/Passport/Pilot didnt have that. Glad to see the new digital gauge cluster does incorporate this.
This is the review I needed to see. Honda made all the changes they needed to make on the 24 to put this over the edge for me. Hoping to pick one up this year!
I love the Ridgeline, test drove a 2019 model when I was buying new 5 years ago. Unfortunately the local Honda dealers just would not budge on price. In the end I couldn’t justify spending $10k more for what I wanted/needed. Ended up with a F150. Although I’m happy with the F150 and have had zero problems, it’s more truck than I need. Granted the pricing breaks I received in 2019 would be unheard of today. Ridgeline will certainly be on my radar again if I ever shop new again.
We own this RIDGELINE best vehicle we have ever owned. My last pickup: personal F150 Ford Platinum- our Rental fleet =75-F150 crew-cabs all white as well Aloha my friends
It's crazy how everyone thinks they really need a full size truck when they don't. Unless you use the truck bed for work of course get yourself a full size. But for everyone else this is as much a truck you really need. I also had to be honest with myself, I'm not willing to go rock climbing with my 70K truck . The Trailsport is good enough to go to National Parks and hit the dirt. And with the money you are saving you can buy and tow your Polaris off-road vehicle with your Ridgeline and really go crazy rock climbing with it.
Why is the instrument panel only half digital on the Black Edition? Also, where is the larger center display, HUD, and digital rearview mirror? The Black Edition is supposed to be their top of the line model.
Bought the 2024 Ridgeline Trailsport last weekend. Absolutely love it. It was a toss-up between that and the black edition. The Trailsport won out because the front grill was more to my taste. But either one are winners.
I have the RTL. I test drove both. I’m an old DJ so music and sound are important to me. I didn’t notice a difference in sound. The BE wasn’t worth the extra money for me.
When I read last year that Honda was updating the model there was one thing I didn't see. The rear bumper, did they ever affix it (weld it) to the unibody? Co-worker had one (2021), and it actually tore out/off of it's plastic housing/clips. Honestly, never seen a rear (fake) step bumper on anything classified as a small truck at $40k+. and my buddy is like 160 lbs . Since I'm in the market and really like the Honda line, but this would be a deal breaker. Thanks
I brought a 24 Black Edition last week and haven’t had a chance to try all the features yet. Thank you for explaining the Lane Keep Assistance and Adaptive cruise. I’m going to try it the next time I’m on the interstate.
@@scottleatherman163 $46,350. But I added a roof rack and crossbars, HPD decal, weather floor mats, and I had the ridgeline blacked out on the tailgate. That was definitely worth it. Brown Honda of Toledo
Thank you for pointing this out. The infotainment screen shows a lot of redundancy due to digital gauge cluster. That large infotainment screen with a side mirror camera would be perfect. great take.
If only Honda would see fit to offer the Ridgeline in a 2.0 or 2.5 Hybrid. Give it 45 MPG average and a starting price under $25,000 and it would be a sure-fire winner.
It used to be that way. Now for 24', only the Black Edition in the U.S comes equipped like the Touring and Black Edition Canadian models did prior years and currently. Before the Trailsport Ridgeline came about, the Touring model in Canada was our RTL-E model, but it still wasn't equally equipped as in Canada. Now (in the U.S) the Trailsport has replaced the RTL-E trim. Thankfully, Honda finally realized (at least on our top model) to add ventilated front seats and heated rear seats... as well as a few other options that were once only found on Canadian models.
I hate the change to the center console. I wanted to buy a ridgeline after I pay off my current car. Now I might just have to buy used instead of new. I love the Capitan’s chair style arm rest that the ridgeline had, and now that it’s gone it’s a deal breaker. That sounds kind of silly, but it’s my personal preference
They need to make these vehicles more cost efficient not the price of a house, sorry in some cases a big down payment for a house all these vehicles are just way overpriced Honda needs to keep it simple get rid of All Those sensors it'll make it more reliable less costly, which means they can put the price down for the customer and they would sell more vehicles one reason because they wouldn't have all those annoying gadgets and features that don't make a crappy driver good and drop the price by thousands and they would sell a lot more vehicles, it would make a lot more money as well!!!
I’m confused by your statement of a refresh. That is the exact same vehicle as my 2019 pilot. Exact. So again, where is the refresh? No wonder these things don’t sell.
Just make it look better on the exterior Honda!! Looks like a suv minivan w a birth defect... I have no doubt it is great vehicle but the exterior front end just kills it for me.. If Honda just made the front look more like a truck I think they would take over the small truck market
No the vehicle was refreshed not full redesign. Only 2024-2025 Honda Pilot TrailSport,Elite and 2025 Pilot Black Edition get Multi-View Camera System. The Acura MDX Advance Package has it also.
@stevechimelski4557 It's not a redesigned vehicle just refreshed for the 2nd time. So wouldn't put this feature in a older design. The 4th Generation Pilot 2023-2025 has it available in 3 trim levels. The Pre-production spy-shots and Auto Press drives of the new redesign Passport has 360 Multi-View Camera System. So redesign Ridgeline will have it some trims.
All those features though are a gimmick nothing safety about that if anything they're very annoying and it's very technical and would be very costly to fix when it breaks, if anybody needs all these features to drive, then they should not be on the road driving, manufacturers are not thinking here don't put any of this garbage on, and the lower the price, I think when people look for a vehicle the number one thing to look for is price so get rid of all that garbage on there and all those sensors we don't need, if you are crappy driver even with all that technology and sensors you're still going to be a crappy driver!!!!!
Well most of the features are on these vehicles of today. When we got the 2007 Honda Ridgeline Pickup new. The Backup Camera was optional for the Navigation model.
Can you please ask this guy why is Honda still using timing belts in their trucks there should be a timing chain, all the Honda Civics have timing chain which is the best Honda makes such a nice truck everything about it is nice except for the timing belt they need to start using a chain, the only thing you need a belt for is to hold up your pants!!!!!
Honda is smart. Body on frame means nothing for mid-sized vehicles. Unibody only benefits it. You can do everything you need from a mid-sized without compromising drive quality.

My salesman in Mercedes knows nothing about any car other than the words “Monthly Payment”
Hows the wheel noise? It sounds very minimal but idk if any editing was done to supress it.
Happy to report that no editing was done to this audio to reduce road noise.
This or the tacoma 2024? 😏 Kinda leaning more towards tacoma tho 😅
I am trying to make the same decision.
If it wasn’t a turbo the choice would be made. That turbo isn’t outlasting this 6
You gotta try the Ridgeline. I traded my Tacoma for the 24' RTL. Never realized how rough the Tacoma drives.
Tacoma is filled with plastic, and rear seats are only suitable for amputees. And with a higher price and a terrible ride.
Great review. However you guys forgot to mention the outside bed sound system. The coolest. Great for outside party’s.
