Yonex Vcore Pro 97 (310g) 2021 Review by Gladiators

  • Guys, if the intro joke was bad let us know for real. The Yonex Vcore 97 Pro (310), the second most controlled focused, and precise racket in the Yonex lineup. Featuring a thin beam and a small head size, this racket should be perfect for those who like to play an aggressive game with long swings. From the first glance at the specs you'd think this is a racket that would suit Grisha way more than Areg. Was that the case though? Watch the video to find out ;) I'm surprised you're still in the description section.

    Surprising to hear about such huge power from you both considering this is supposed to be a very underpowered, control racquet according to most other reviews, where they say it needs weight to hit anything big. Perhaps the power from you guys comes from the freedom to 'hit out' so you're able to really swing without fear of the ball going long, hence the power that way vs a more powerful (Pure Aero) type frame?

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It definitely is quite powerful for a racket of it's class, considering the head size and the thinner beam. It obviously doesn't get near to the power of the Pure Aero don't get me wrong. Also in case of the Vcore Pro the power is kind of long lasting and requires a long swing whereas rackets like the Puere Aero have that explosive immediate power.

    You both gave a low number for spin. For me that’s also the case unless I really focus the movement on spin. Can the stringtension or type help for more spin? If so what would you recommend?

    • @gladiatorstribe

      Thanks for the amazing comment! It's stiffness is definitely quite a bit lower than the aero. However the head size is pretty small, making the sweetspot small ass well. Therefore whenever you're gonna miss that sweetspot you'll get pretty uncomfortable vibration into your arm. You should find and play older yonex sticks like DR98,Ai or Xi. Modern yonex sticks with VDM are way too muted. You literally don’t feel the ball…. specially with VC98 I couldnt even stay on a 4-5 ball exchange. I read comments that latest VCP97 is flexy around the throat and provided decent feel/feedback. Ezone 98 also no great feedback if you compare it with previous ezone sticks.

      @@TheodorosKolokotronis799 agree, new line (above all the vcore line) feel very muted but the last gen vcp 97 vdm was a Gem, am hitting with much power, such heavy balls. Thinking of trying the new one.

    Same shit difference paint job each year. I had one 5 years ago exact same specification . Just less expensive . Still do the job on the court . Just let the play do all the talking.

      The looks aren't the most important aspect of a racket obviously but don't underestimate it. You're gonna be holding it for many consecutive hours in your hand and if you don't like the way it looks, it's not gonna help.

    absolutely loving the Vcore Pro 97 now. you remember Marcelo Rios, prob one of the talented players EVER, was numero UNO for a few months, but had a major back injury. He USED THE YONEX (RTi 400) that is the Father of the VCore Pro series. I used that racket then, and some similarities. check his sheer talent here. th-cam.com/video/r8HeMYzD-NQ/w-d-xo.html Watch this point at 0.5X speed. Only 60 seconds.. It's one of the most remarkable points I've ever seen: the variety of stroke play, sheer RAW skill and instinct. NO ACTUALLY WATCH THE WHOLE 15 MINS, The touch, the instinct... Simply Priceless. Rios was Numero UNO! around 1998/99, but then suffered a serious back injury and never recovered. I think he left pro tennis the following year. He's my new hero!! [12/05, 22:33] Sunil Shah: Tell me what you think of his technique. Same height me, left handed, same racket...wonder if he shouts a lot too 🤪
    [12/05, 22:41] Brendon Tenn: He totally serves like you and volleys the same 🙌He definitely does not shout as much as you do, haha 😂
