Very quickly, I think you are one of the better reviewers out there - you clearly explain yourself and get straight to the point. And I can tell from your play footage that you can sling the ball around. Many racquet reviewers can't play very well, which I think is problematic when trying to convey racquet characteristics. In any event, I DO think you should make mention of other common strokes like serves, volleys, slice, etc., even if briefly. That would level-up your already no-nonsense reviews.

I have both. Based on my sensations, I agree with everything you said except that I felt VCore performs better with the flat shots. I can almost generate more spin with the Ezone for some reason. I can also generate more pace with the VCore and feels more satisfying when hitting with the sweet spot. I agree also with the better stability especially with hard hitting opponents. That said, it doesn't forgive lazy or incomplete swings and it will get wild. Ezone is pretty much good at everyhing...the only negative aspect is the control when playing a hard hitting opponent. It's a lot sensitive and I tend to hit long more often
I've been playing with Wilson Prostaff RFs the past 15 years, and I demoed the VCore 100 yesterday, and the power and spin felt God-like -- certainly alot more spin than the RFs. It was so much easier to whip the head around to generate the spin I always wanted. Felt like I could easily get the head around to hitting cross-courts or down-the-line. I'm going to demo it again, and if it feels the same, I'm probably going to switch. Your review completely aligned with what I felt and explained it.
I honestly think you give some of the clearest and most nuanced reviews anywhere. You explained the differences perfectly. Do you feel these characteristics carry over to the 100in versions of both these racquets?
I'm having a properly hard time choosing between these 2 and the Aero 100. Ezone definitely has that killer flat ball in it and isn't as hard to work. But if you commit to ripping the VCore with spin its so, so good. The Aero is nowhere near them for feel but man it is so fast and manoeuvrable for a 100. Its kinda nice to have that extra real estate sometimes too. Still no idea which way I'll go!

Best tennis videos ever ! I prefer the maniability of the Ezone 98 but i prefer the higher launch angle and spin of the vcore 98. Vcore 98 is a bit too hard to swing for my shoulder. I used both with polytour pro at tension 51 pounds. Do you think it s possible to get the same launch angle of the vcore with the ezone if i use a spin string hyper g with lower tension at 44 pounds ? Thanks a lot
Hello, Fantastic review. Love watching your videos. I've been playing with the Ezone 100 for quite some time now and really like its ease of use and power (sometimes a bit too much power). Looking to change rackets to get a bit more feel and comfort as find the Ezone 100 can be a little muted with not alot of feel. Not that the 100 is uncomfortable but perhaps something slightly easier n the arm would be nice. Maybe a bit more flex? Will changing to the Ezone 98 be a good choice? I would say I'm an intermediate with a good all round game (don't think i excel in any one area but would like to get a bit more topspin more regularly). Should i consider the Vcore 100 also? Thanks
You will get more feel and comfort with the 98 but you may want to go away from Yonex if you want something less muted. Perhaps try the Speed MP or Gravity MP.
Other option ...thinking about how to make ezone 100 more spin &.controllable. Maybe restring it with spinny-string + higher tension than usual to tend to control. Feel that sensation before you decide to switch on another sticks.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver I second this, please do a 100 comparison similar to this. Been playing with Ezone 100 for about a year now, and two weeks ago I received my Vcore 100. So far I'm loving the Vcore. That being said, I'm not sure I'm switching away from my Ezones. Feedback from opponents have been that I have noticeable more topspin with the Vcore. So thinking it should be my choice when playing on clay. I'd say my level is around 3.5. I string both the Ezone and Vcore with Lynx Tour Orange 1.25 at 48pounds/22kg. I really prefer that string over both PolyTourPro Yellow and PolyTourRev Orange.
One additional thought about the vcore98 is that because the string pattern is gradually becoming more open towards the tip, you will have different feeling where the ball landing on the string bed. You will feel firm and more control in the middle and blow, and more picketing, power and spin when the ball landed higher on the string bed.
Been playing ezone 22 weighed up to 345 grams strung, 6pt HL and 324 SW. it’s an amazing stick. I play w hybrid setup of Polytour pro 17 on mains and gamma live wire pro 18 on crosses. 50/53. Feel is outstanding, ball pocketing is plush. Launch angle low. Sometimes I crave more heavy spin but I’m not willing to play full poly anymore. I also have the ezone tour which is better from the baseline but I lack rackethead speed due to the head balance. Recently bought two Vcore 95 2023. Doing the same string setup as above and wow. Love the precision feel and spin. The one thing I notice compared to my ezone is I don’t get as much weight behind the shots. I have my Vcore with 4” strips of lead at 9 and 3. Single overgrip and they’re at 334 gram static, 7ptHL and 325 SW. it’s a great setup. You do have to put more effort into your strokes as the Vcore doesn’t provide any free power like the ezone, however I still play both as I like both. Just depends on how I’m playing. I tried the Vcore 98 and it was just way to wild. Spraying balls, super high launch angle, just felt like it needed to be tamed quite a bit. If you’re a heavy hitter and want precision, feel and accuracy I say Vcore 95 hands down. If you want some occasional free power from the racket the ezone will do that for you however the exone doesn’t swing through the air as effortlessly and those mid court put away shots might not drop as quick.
Great explanation. New to tennis, I think Vcore 100 is a good compromise. sweet spot feel is amazing, though located bit upper on the frame. Not the biggest tho (ezone 98 is still tad bigger!)
Just add lead to the Ezone98 then there you have it. Easy playability with world class stability :D Tuned mine with 9 grams of lead and playing with a hybrid setup of Solinco Tour Bite in the Mains and Poly Tour Pro in the crosses. This thing is a monster in every aspect and the best racket I've ever played. The Ezone is just a crazy good platform racket for some customization
@@arturonava9725 3g in the handle (optional, depends on if your racket is on spec. I actually have 4 rackets and only have lead in 2 of the handles to match them exactly) 2g at 4 and 8. 4g at 2 and 10. I am super happy with that setup
Sounds like the Ezone would be a little more arm-friendly being that it’s sweet spot is larger than the VCore’s, but is that actually the case? And how do each compare when making contact in the sweet spot?
having play a bunch of different racket now settle with ezone, because is overall good nothing too shortcoming which i guess as you progress to some extend that is the one you need.

With stability, just 1.5gs of lead tape to 9 and 3 and counter with 3gs in the but to counterbalance and you have a very stable racquet thats still very light to generate a high swing speed.
Thanks for the great video! I’m an upper intermediate player getting arm pain from the Pure Aero 100. I’m looking at these for better comfort and control, but still want to get spin and power like the Aero. The VCore sounds ideal but would you only recommend for advanced players?
Go for either of these 100s if you want something more intermediate focussed. They are very muted so vibrations won't be an issue and they're more user-friendly than these 98s.
I switched from the Pure Aero 100 (2023) to the Vcore 100, and it’s been a blessing for my arm. This week, I also tried the Vcore 95 and really liked it, but I’m not looking to switch-what matters most to me now is playing without pain.
Ezone a great racket but the vcore 95 is exceptional IMO, if you get the right string set up. If I lend my racket to a friend on court, I have to ask for it back because they like it so much! I now have 2!
Nice video. I can only agree with the "wild power" term for the vcore 98. It definitely demands better positioning and spin when hitting hard while the ezone has a more controller power. The vcore 95 is a damn good racket too. Much more control, more manoeuvrable at the expense of a smaller sweet spot.

Hi! I wrote in some of your other videos... I want a suggestion. I am currently using PS97 315g with leather grip I play with RPM rough at 55lbs, I am not in love with the racket, last racket I loved was Prince Exo3 tour, my spin was like crazy and really good control, however after several years playing with those I cannot find them anymore :( I tried Vcore 95 2023 1 year ago but I felt it muted, so was difficult to me to understand what to hit. I played with Vcore 98 last week but I feel a lot of power and lack of mass, however I liked how improve my spin (I usually play with lots of spin) but with Vcore rackets my spin was like crazy. I am considering to switch to Vcore 95/98. I think that If I use string aroung 60lbs will fix the control issue. But After checking this video maybe Ezone or percept will be good options. Any suggestions?
good content dude ! I think you should talk about the fact that Ezone 98 is an absolute arm killer for some people. There are many reviews who mention that and i experienced it myself. It's the only racquet who kill my arm like that (I don't know why, i use to play with a 315g racquet)
Its only an arm killer because people use a fully poly setup with a high tensions, its fine if it strung at 48lbs and better with Gut crosses with a poly on the mains
I have both and i can say that after playing against big hitter, specially if i hit a bit late, it's a bit tough on the arm. But if you manage your timing to hit at the right time in front of you it feels soft and nice. No problem with vibrations either.
I am a senior tennis player, playing mostly social doubles. I want to transition from using player's rackets { like Prince phantom pro 100p and Babolat pure control 95} to oversize 105 rackets. I am interested on what you think about Ezone 105 Thanks
The Ezone 105 is one of the best oversized frames because you still have pretty good feel for the ball and control despite the bigger head. Definitely a go!
Is the vcore 98 2023 very different from the 2021 version? If so, how do they differ? I have the 2021 version, and am not sure if I wanna buy the new version, or try something completely different.
Ezone vs. Radical Pro is an interesting question. I may do a video about them in the future, actually, but the Ezone has more power/spin and the Radical more control.
Do you think this racquet (vcore 98) is too different compared to blade v9 16x19? i'm planning switch to vcore 98 or 100. I was using blade v6 and i realized that i lost power after switch to blade v9.
Yes, adding lead at 3 and 9 will always do that and I think the VCORE could definitely do with it. It's actually not a bad candidate for lead at 4 and 8, as well.
Is it my idea or is this version of vcore 98 much slower and more controlled than the previous version? It has been difficult for me to accelerate the right, something that did not happen to me with previous versions
Where would you place the Vcore Pro 97 among the 3 Yonex verticals? I have the 100sqin variant of all 3, and as a rec player I find the Vcore pro to be the easiest to use surprisingly. It is however the lowest-powered.
The VCORE Pro 100 is one of the most underrated rackets I've tried in a long time. I didn't love this version of the 97, but it's by far the lowest-launching/most controlled compared to the other midpluses.
i just demoed them, slice and one handed backhand with the Ezone is not great at all. But the forehand is enormous. VCORE has better slice and OHBH and forehand is ok. IMO

Yes, there is a huge difference between the two rackets. Yonex completely redesigned it for this generation so they don't play very similarly at all. I could say more spin, more power, more stability but it goes beyond even that because the shape has changed so drastically it's just a different swing pattern and response in general.
I've never played with a 1 hander so I'm not the best person to ask but it seems a lot of 1 handers like the feeling of a more whippy frame, so I would say the EZONE.
I’m looking for something more forgiving than my 330Sw V8 blade 98. Luca help me man! Leaning towards the Ezone 98,Ezone 100, and perhaps the shift 300 weighted up to stay in the Wilson camp. What do you think? (Bet Luca be like Gravity brooo).
Hahaha, I'd go for the Gravity MP bro. Just kidding (although I'm not kidding at all you should definitely throw the Gravity in the demo bag). EZONE 98 is a great shout, the Shift as well but also maybe give the Speed MP a go - such a good racket.
The Blade has a more traditional control and feel profile whereas the EZONE is quite unique in its response. It's more powerful and spin friendly than what you would expect from a player's racket.
Take it easy with the fake tan, guy. But aside from that :) this is the best racket review I've ever listened to. Most of them are a complete waste of time but you are a different beast!

I must be a contradiction cause I’m a 4.5 and definitely hit flat and love the vcore and think it’s extremely forgiving. Originally tried the ezone and thought it felt horrible and like hitting with a bat and had no control
@@Le-Chuck it was a demo that hadn’t been strung in a while now that I think about it. Pretty sure it was luxilon element so I don’t think the tension was too high but it could of been that the strings were just dead.
@@Luciene3 I had pretty much thé same first experience with an ezone 98 strung with a dead yonex ptp... I hated thé (muted) boardy feel. When I asked, thé answer was : "it s thé same string since... Well wait... Oh one year..." So I waited and tried a friend s racket with fresh new string, string way less tight (20kg). And : ok, that is a dawn good racket !!! 😜👍
I haven't played with the 95 enough yet but from what people are saying it could be the perfect head size to tone down that new shape's wild side that I mention in the video.
I haven't technically tried the Tour but I've weighted the standard up to around Tour specs before and as you can imagine it makes for a fantastic frame - sort of what I said about customization at the end.
I’ve played the tour for six months. Finally set it down. It’s more controlled and more plow. However timing demands are greater, can’t quite get the swing speed up as fast as I’d like due to the weight and balance. Balance is like 4 points HL so fairly head heavy. However from baseline you can drive the ball really well. If you hit w heavy topspin and play semi western you might start aching at your wrist u less your swing is dialed! I weighed up my ezone 98 to same static weight as tour and I prefer the swing speed on regular ezone. It’s more HL though. Both great rackets

But if you Say "much more" I think I will pass on thé speed pro. I had the ezone 98, great stick but I thought it lacks mass behind the ball (on my 2h backhand). I think I ll stay with my (both weighted) gravity mp v2 and blade 100 v8 (you should try and review a customized one 😊)... Or maybe an extrem tour with lead could be the answer...
Both racquets are for intermediate and advanced players, intermediate players still struggle with the Ezone because they cannot control the power consistently

Absolutely. Similar to the Boom you almost get an ability to hit different types of shots by choosing where you make contact in the string bed.

I haven't spent enough time on-court with the 95, but from what everyone is saying it sounds amazing.

Tuned mine with 9 grams of lead and playing with a hybrid setup of Solinco Tour Bite in the Mains and Poly Tour Pro in the crosses. This thing is a monster in every aspect and the best racket I've ever played.

@@arturonava9725 3g in the handle (optional, depends on if your racket is on spec. I actually have 4 rackets and only have lead in 2 of the handles to match them exactly)

Sounds like the Ezone would be a little more arm-friendly being that it’s sweet spot is larger than the VCore’s, but is that actually the case?
And how do each compare when making contact in the sweet spot?
having play a bunch of different racket now settle with ezone, because is overall good nothing too shortcoming which i guess as you progress to some extend that is the one you need.

i play a very spinny game, been using the Vcore98 in v5 and v6 but just ordered the ezone v7 after trying out a friends.. so lets see what that has in store for me!
update, i returned ezone and ordered a new vcore.. weight distribution (light head) on ezone was really hard for me to control.
just put 4g of lead on 3 and 9 on the ezone and stability resolved.
With stability, just 1.5gs of lead tape to 9 and 3 and counter with 3gs in the but to counterbalance and you have a very stable racquet thats still very light to generate a high swing speed.
What do you mean, add weight to ezone/vcore or both?
Thanks for the great video! I’m an upper intermediate player getting arm pain from the Pure Aero 100. I’m looking at these for better comfort and control, but still want to get spin and power like the Aero. The VCore sounds ideal but would you only recommend for advanced players?
Go for either of these 100s if you want something more intermediate focussed. They are very muted so vibrations won't be an issue and they're more user-friendly than these 98s.
I switched from the Pure Aero 100 (2023) to the Vcore 100, and it’s been a blessing for my arm. This week, I also tried the Vcore 95 and really liked it, but I’m not looking to switch-what matters most to me now is playing without pain.
Ezone a great racket but the vcore 95 is exceptional IMO, if you get the right string set up. If I lend my racket to a friend on court, I have to ask for it back because they like it so much! I now have 2!
Haha, I agree, it's an exceptional racket! The Ezone is close to exceptional and a couple tweaks here and there and I think it could be.

Nice video. I can only agree with the "wild power" term for the vcore 98. It definitely demands better positioning and spin when hitting hard while the ezone has a more controller power. The vcore 95 is a damn good racket too. Much more control, more manoeuvrable at the expense of a smaller sweet spot.

Hi! I wrote in some of your other videos... I want a suggestion. I am currently using PS97 315g with leather grip I play with RPM rough at 55lbs, I am not in love with the racket, last racket I loved was Prince Exo3 tour, my spin was like crazy and really good control, however after several years playing with those I cannot find them anymore :(
I tried Vcore 95 2023 1 year ago but I felt it muted, so was difficult to me to understand what to hit. I played with Vcore 98 last week but I feel a lot of power and lack of mass, however I liked how improve my spin (I usually play with lots of spin) but with Vcore rackets my spin was like crazy.
I am considering to switch to Vcore 95/98. I think that If I use string aroung 60lbs will fix the control issue. But After checking this video maybe Ezone or percept will be good options.
Any suggestions?
good content dude ! I think you should talk about the fact that Ezone 98 is an absolute arm killer for some people. There are many reviews who mention that and i experienced it myself. It's the only racquet who kill my arm like that (I don't know why, i use to play with a 315g racquet)
Its only an arm killer because people use a fully poly setup with a high tensions, its fine if it strung at 48lbs and better with Gut crosses with a poly on the mains
That's very interesting; I don't find it to be that way at all but maybe that's because I've only tried it with Poly Tour Pro which is a softer poly.
I have both and i can say that after playing against big hitter, specially if i hit a bit late, it's a bit tough on the arm. But if you manage your timing to hit at the right time in front of you it feels soft and nice. No problem with vibrations either.

Play with a hybrid setup. String poly at 50 and below and use a soft poly like hyper G soft or big hitter 7 black from Tourna.
I use the Vcore 100L 2022 and the head shape is so much less square. The 2022 in my opinion is better than the new one
It's a very different response and doesn't have that same wild & launchy side IMO.

The Ezone 105 is one of the best oversized frames because you still have pretty good feel for the ball and control despite the bigger head. Definitely a go!
Did you find it challenging hitting slices with the vcore?? Trying it at the moment and I could hit a penetrating slice! 😢
I didn't think it was too bad but it's certainly not my favourite racket for slicing.

Yes, they completely changed the shape and design on this one.

Yes, there is a lot more power with the Vcore so that makes sense!

Yes, adding lead at 3 and 9 will always do that and I think the VCORE could definitely do with it. It's actually not a bad candidate for lead at 4 and 8, as well.
Is it my idea or is this version of vcore 98 much slower and more controlled than the previous version? It has been difficult for me to accelerate the right, something that did not happen to me with previous versions
It is slower and more stable (which could lead to more control). The new shape has changed everything.

Where would you place the Vcore Pro 97 among the 3 Yonex verticals? I have the 100sqin variant of all 3, and as a rec player I find the Vcore pro to be the easiest to use surprisingly. It is however the lowest-powered.
The VCORE Pro 100 is one of the most underrated rackets I've tried in a long time. I didn't love this version of the 97, but it's by far the lowest-launching/most controlled compared to the other midpluses.
Wich one is better for slice backhand? And better for serve ?
i just demoed them, slice and one handed backhand with the Ezone is not great at all. But the forehand is enormous.
VCORE has better slice and OHBH and forehand is ok. IMO
Slice is a little better on the Vcore IMO. First serves: Vcore, second serves: Ezone.

Difficult comparison as the Gravity has much more directional control and feel but not nearly as much power/spin potential.

Yes, there is a huge difference between the two rackets. Yonex completely redesigned it for this generation so they don't play very similarly at all. I could say more spin, more power, more stability but it goes beyond even that because the shape has changed so drastically it's just a different swing pattern and response in general.

I've never played with a 1 hander so I'm not the best person to ask but it seems a lot of 1 handers like the feeling of a more whippy frame, so I would say the EZONE.

Hahaha, I'd go for the Gravity MP bro. Just kidding (although I'm not kidding at all you should definitely throw the Gravity in the demo bag). EZONE 98 is a great shout, the Shift as well but also maybe give the Speed MP a go - such a good racket.

Blade vs ezone whats the difference?
The Blade has a more traditional control and feel profile whereas the EZONE is quite unique in its response. It's more powerful and spin friendly than what you would expect from a player's racket.
Take it easy with the fake tan, guy. But aside from that :) this is the best racket review I've ever listened to. Most of them are a complete waste of time but you are a different beast!

I must be a contradiction cause I’m a 4.5 and definitely hit flat and love the vcore and think it’s extremely forgiving. Originally tried the ezone and thought it felt horrible and like hitting with a bat and had no control
Was the tension too high or the string very stiff ?
@@Le-Chuck it was a demo that hadn’t been strung in a while now that I think about it. Pretty sure it was luxilon element so I don’t think the tension was too high but it could of been that the strings were just dead.
@@Luciene3 I had pretty much thé same first experience with an ezone 98 strung with a dead yonex ptp... I hated thé (muted) boardy feel. When I asked, thé answer was : "it s thé same string since... Well wait... Oh one year..."
So I waited and tried a friend s racket with fresh new string, string way less tight (20kg). And : ok, that is a dawn good racket !!!

I haven't technically tried the Tour but I've weighted the standard up to around Tour specs before and as you can imagine it makes for a fantastic frame - sort of what I said about customization at the end.
I’ve played the tour for six months. Finally set it down. It’s more controlled and more plow. However timing demands are greater, can’t quite get the swing speed up as fast as I’d like due to the weight and balance. Balance is like 4 points HL so fairly head heavy. However from baseline you can drive the ball really well. If you hit w heavy topspin and play semi western you might start aching at your wrist u less your swing is dialed! I weighed up my ezone 98 to same static weight as tour and I prefer the swing speed on regular ezone. It’s more HL though. Both great rackets

They are two very different rackets. Much more spin and forgiveness with the EZONE but more directional control, stability and power with the Speed!

I think I ll stay with my (both weighted) gravity mp v2 and blade 100 v8 (you should try and review a customized one 😊)...

Both racquets are for intermediate and advanced players, intermediate players still struggle with the Ezone because they cannot control the power consistently
I agree with you to a certain extent but I think there are much better options for intermediate players than the VCORE 98.
