    I have one of these. 10 weeks in after 30 years of not playing. I have the 310 gram version and added weight at 9 and 3 for stability. This racquet is very unforgiving and makes me think what I'm doing wrong. I like it though cause it makes my form and footwork better. But, when you hit it well with good form dam it feels good. I'm relearning top spin forehand and backhand now and it feels better and better each time I play. I like the slight flex with hyper g 16. I would recommend stringing it a little looser then what your used to cause the sweet spot is not big on it. Again, this racquet is not forgiving one bit. If you want to challenge yourself or are an immediate player or higher, it's a phenomenal racquet to play with. Plays very well on touch plays. Serves are solid, again if you have good form. It's an under powered racquet, so you must be able to generate your own power with solid hits and good form. Once I work my way up to a 4.0 level, I'm definitely getting a 2nd one.

      Think the vcore pro 100 would be perfect for you! More forgiving 300g weight and string between 48/50 most pros go with that tension now 👍

    Hi Kent, pleasure to watch your channel. I’m a 5.0 player (46 old with still have a pretty good reflex & shape) & using Yonex VCore Pro 97L (290 gr) at present. While the control of this racquet still very good but for doubles volley when received a fast - heavy balls it become not stable. Also when received a big hit on the groundstroke, hard to maintain the defense.
    I just bought the new Babolat Pure Aero 2023 (300 gr), even it waaay too much power for my play (groundstroke) it’s more stable on the doubles volley. The high twist weight of this Pure Aero must contribute well.
    Well while the Yonex VCP 97L is still sharper & better feel on the volley I’m wondering does the Yonex VCP 97 (310) are the goldilocks for my needs. I’m kinda a simple person that if I can get 1 weapon for all it would be enough.
    I’m also very curious about Head Gravity Pro & Speed Pro esp. after seeing your videos about those (also seeing Bethanie Mattek-Sands video when she’s on the searching of new racquet).
    So my candidates for 1 racquet for all are : Yonex VCP 97, Wilson Pro Staff 97L, Head Gravity Pro & Speed Pro.
    I’m more a flat hitter player looking for control, more forgiving, stable on the net, good defense (a small amount of free power on defense would be nice), feel & comfort (my current Yonex VCP 97L are good already on control & comfort).
    I would like to know your comments & advice since our playing style & level are quite same. Thanks Kent !!

      Hi Danny! Thank you for supporting my channel.
      I understand your dilemna. Choosing a new racket can always be difficult if you want it to be everything you want. Sounds to me like the newest edition of the Speed Pro might be the best option for you. It has pretty decent power for an 18x20 and it's 100 sq. in. so it's quite stable at net and the baseline. I tried the Gravity Pro and I felt like it had no power at all.
      One other racket I recommend you try is the Boom Pro. I loved that racket and I felt it was great from everywhere on the court. I don't really have money to buy a new racket right now but if I could buy any one racket, it would be the Boom Pro.

      Get the 310g. 290g how can you expect something that light to be stable. Cheaper alternative is just lead up the 290g up to 300g for a start.

      Yes, I did it for my son Yonex VCP 97 L 290g + full frame ring with lead + supplement at 3 & 9. Racket strung withouth dampener is now 310 g.. considerably better from baseline and more stability for voleas keeping fast swing from thinner beam this racket has.
      My son stil cannot move (as expected) rackets 300 g unstrung ( means 315 strung + dampener). No hitting clean with sweet spot, not same swing speed, etc.

    I love this racket, i just found that it struggles a bit in the spin department! any advice on some durable strings which help with spin?

      You can try Solinco Tour Bite 16L or thicker if you want durability and spin. Solinco Revolution, Luxilon ALU Power Spin, and Ytex Quadro Twist are also good alternatives. Hope these help!

    Bro flexible racket means less power right? Plus the racquest has one of the thinnest beam same as last gen

      I am planning to make a video in the future regarding the misconception on flexible rackets. You're right in that really flexible rackets tend to have less power.

    Will you be switching rakets n why?

    • @opencourt808
      @opencourt808  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I will not be switching rackets because I still love my 2018 Speed Pro but the Vcore Pro is my favorite in the Yonex family

    Which strings broke?

    • @opencourt808
      @opencourt808  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I broke a full bed of Yonex Rexis and a full bed of MSV focus hex. But I kinda shanked the poly so that was why I said it was probably a fluke.
