    As always Barry your attention to detail is fantastic and the video shows all of the issues that may come up and options to address them. The timing is perfect as I am about 1 month behind you simply following in your footsteps.

    I am just at this stage to put all these parts on and was dreading the barrel clips for the letters. Great tip with the self etch and the 1/8th drill bit. This is why I contribute to your channel as you save me time and money and I encourage others to also become a patron so that Barry can make more of these very helpful and well done videos. Thanks again Barry and keep up the great work.

    Back in the day the Triumph Spitfire and Herald had the Decklid letters TRIUMPH , 99% of owners dont know that the H was higher than the other letters, Factory Deck/ Bootlids are all the same .

    Now the barrel clips don’t have paint on them ! Now what where does it end? Lol when I get to this point I think I will use a little bit of silicone caulking clear to keep water from getting on in the holes . Great video Barry very detailed !! Can’t wait till I get there too !

    Just a side note to anyone researching- installation for the trunk trim is very different on a Fastback.

    We were on vacation when I saw this video. Of course, I had to look at my trunk lid letters when we got home. I THINK THEY ARE ALL CROOKED! Mine is factory original.

    I am in possession of none of my mustangs right now, and there you are getting so much work done on your car. Urghhh I just want to get back to work.

    I might have missed it, but did you end up leaving the seals between the quarters and extensions, after all? I think I'm going to have to use mine to line up the deck lid as well. Looks great!

  • @badharryshideaway3665

    Just one question Barry did you stay with the rubber around the 1/4 panel extensions? I would think it would stop the paint from eventually chipping also.

    • @JoDaddysGarage
      @JoDaddysGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t use the rubber. I adjusted everything so that the edges don’t actually make strong contact. May be able to shim the gap between the quarter mount holes and mating surface of the extension. That way the load is on the mount bolts and not mating surfaces.

    are the letters after market ? if so theres your problem

    • @saabtech3510

      Chinese. You fight with the body panels, and then insult to injury, in your last steps end up with crooked letters. I got all new dash bulbs for a '67 Mustang that were too loose in the sockets and the base metal actually bent against the contact springs. Had to find NOS bulbs on ebay in an old Westinghouse box. Nothing made like they used to. My wife showed me her hair pins so flimsy they bent after one use and into the trash.

  • @hughphillips67Mustang

    What if there are no holes in the body panels?

    The “N” is upside down.
