    If there were an Academy award for best Car Restoration series on You Tube... this Jade build would be a runaway winner

    I believe there was black caulk strip along the upper fender flange that acted as a anti squeak from the bolted fender edge rubbing against the inner aprons. Most people don’t put in back on but I think the factory did.

      I've seen that stuff before. I like it clean, but I understand the purpose.

    I'm following all the progress. Thanks for the effort and great tips. You sure have determination. Greetings! I would like to make a suggestion: put some original-like style tires. That would be awesome. The way it is now seems out of place... Just an opinion.

    If you also cut a slit, from the edge to the hole, in the pieces of plastic, you would not have to completely remove the bolt to remove the plastic.Just loosen the bolt and pull the plastic out.

    Panels are really lining up very nice. Good tip on the plastic protector too. Cutting a small slot in plastic would allow removal without the need to completely remove bolt. Illustrating how just by moving the front of the fender affected the gap at the rear was interesting too. Just proves that for every action there is an opposite reaction.

    You might consider hollow punches for the holes in the plastic. My paint dealer sells a 3m rubber block which works great for the hollow center punch.

    looks soooo gooooood. i figured out the hard way.. its soooo much easier to put those extensions on the fenders before they're on the car. hope you have someone that can give you a hand. its a pita to do solo with them on the car.

    Awesome. Not recommending that the fenders are painted after install?

    how many attatchment points are there at the rear of the fender and what type of bolts. I got mine dissassembled. Is there one in the center of the rear brace(access thru kick panel)? rocker to femder, upper rear corner ( boltgoes in from the door frame.

    • @JoDaddysGarage
      @JoDaddysGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 67 and 68 have one at the bottom, one at the top behind the door. 4 or 5 where it meets the hood. There are 2 at the front on the core support. Standard 1/2" head bolts. There is also a bracket at the bottom of the fender that connects to the kick panel. Where the wheel arch starts at the rear.

    Did you buy a bunch of parts prior to covid? Mustangs unlimited is closed and it seems like CJ pony wants an arm and leg for some of them.

      I may complete some things on the convertible and see about getting it out of my garage. I have a 67 coupe that I will make into a fastback. Other projects on the horizon.
