One of the very best comedy movie ever made. Also, Les Grossman (played by Tom Cruise) is a word play from the french words "Les Grosses Mains" which literally translate to "The Big Hands". It is very clever from an english perspective, though very on the nose if you are french like me (or if you are just fluent in french).

Possibly and arguably, the greatest comedy to date. And Danny McBride is always welcome in any comedic offering. The dude is so naturally funny… Thanks Jax👍🏻
I’ve seen this film 100 times, but I think I just realized that it’s a metaphor for men and the female orgasm. I might be completely incorrect and off base, but all these guys go into the jungle, not realizing what they’re doing. Then, they all try to navigate the environment with no success. But luckily, in the end, there’s a massive explosion, but only thanks to the cameo Matthew McConaughey?! 😂
And Simple Jack is a subtle commentary on our “stumbling and fumbling” with the ladies. I might be drinking, but I’m very certain that I’m making absolutely amazing points! 😂

Tropic Thunder is a great and one of my favorite comedy movies of all time. The whole cast was brilliant including Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., Jack Black, Steve Coogan, Danny McBride, Nick Nolte, Dave Baruschel, Brandon T Jackson, Mathew McConaughey and Tom Cruise. Lol, so when I went to see this, I was visiting one of my friends out in Las Vegas. When I saw the "ad" for Booty Sweat and Bust-A-Nut, I legitimately thought they were real. I turned to my friend and said "You got some wack-ass concessions out here." lol. And I didn't even realize that was Tom Cruise until he started dancing in front of McConaughey, lol. This movies OUTRAGEOUS, lol.
In the theater, so many people thought that the movie trailers were actual trailers, so people were still getting up for last min snacks and bathrooms stops while their friends had a big "oh shit" moment of realization 😂 Also on the actual DVD, if you turn on the commentary, RDJ is still in character as Kirk Lazarus and the cast is there with him just dying laughing
Definitely one of the greatest Comedies of all-time, and a movie that truly could not be made these days (people love to say that, but it's really accurate in this case). Brilliantly funny writing, some fairly impressive action, a stacked cast, and an awesome soundtrack add up to make this one an absolute Classic. Cheers and Happy Weekend to all Y'all out there in the Jax-Verse. 🥃☮❤
The amount of layers in this movie is crazy. The characters have depth and there are setups and payoffs. Some are funny like Alpa saying "Lance" and then seeing him at the premiere with Lance Bass from Backstreet Boys and others are serous and subtle like Four Leaf. He is set up as this grizzled vet and the "payoff" is that he's a fake, they make him look like a coward. This is actually not the payoff, it's a misdirect as he proves to be brave during the escape holding off the baddies with the flamethrower and running under fire to detonate the bridge. This movie really is a masterpiece in story telling.

One little touch many would not have caught is the author's uniform is classic stolen valor, being cobbled together like someone who did not know the meaning behind the patches they wear in public, so people in the army might have caught he was fake even before the hands came off (though also could have initially thought it was just poor research by film staff).
I love that Matthew McConaughey's character actually took Les Grossman's deal, got the jet, and used it to fly the Tivo to Speedman.

Exactly, the world needs to lighten up!
We live in a world that has a lot of rules that we take for granted but are actually pretty stupid if you think about them. The purpose of great comedy, from the ancient Greeks to Shakespeare to court jesters, has always been to point that out.
@@charlize1253 Love this comment. Quite true and insightful.
@@gregkrueger331 Ya thiink? Hahahaha. I totally agree. I don't bruise easily, but it seems like so many other people do. We chould be able to laugh at our weaknesses without getting butt hurt about it. I don't think people attack that often, but I see people interpret a joke as an attack.
''Just a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude''. One of the greatest lines ever! Amazing reaction
It's such a great line!! 😂
This film was a trip, a complete organized chaos with criticisms of the film industry, criticisms of ethnic prejudice and prejudice against sexuality in the midst of super funny humor.
Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Junior were very funny and their transformation was extreme, although we can still recognize them. The entire Casting had big names and none of them disappointed, it was great to watch it again and be able to see Jax's reactions to the excessive blood. It was like watching the movie with my sister again. And I'm looking forward to next time
the double feature grindhouse a two movie feature with tarantinos death proof and rodriguez planet terror also had fake trailers between the two movies, and they were so amazing they later made them as real movies lol xD
Machete Kills!
"Everyone's gay once in a while it's Hollywood"
Given what's come out in the last 15 or so years, this line hits way harder.
Tobey Maguire Is Not In This Movie But That MTV Award For Best Kiss IS TRUE!!! It Was For the Upside Down Kiss From Spider-Man 2! MIND BLOWN!!!
Love watching people react to this movie for the first time 😂
Your laugh is so contagious. Every time you giggles, I laughed all over again even though I've seen this movie dozens of times.
The entire cast was incredible. When he throws Half-squat i die laughing evrrytime. 😂😂😂
Stiller is a very underrated comedy giant, if you take a look at his resume from scripts, TV, film, series, sitcom, etc. it's amazing the amount of top level comedy that guy has released into the world, even on things people didn't realize he'd written.
Un, NOBODY underrates Ben Stiller. WTH?? He is royalty in hollywierd. WTH??
@@nielgregory108 Work on your reading comprehension...and spelling.
3:00 Why did my mind immediately go to the gutter when she said this?
5:43 This is the earliest I think I’ve seen any reactor recognize Tom Cruise.
16:21 Even though she edited it out, having bar backed at a strip club a number of years back, I always laugh my ass off at the, “Amanda, that’s probably not even her real name.”
Best! Tropic Thunder! Reaction! Thank you!
THANK YOU!! 🎉🎉
All your reactions to Tropic Thunder was hilarious 😂
Especially with Robert Downey Jr's role as Lazarus, i loved your reaction tords them all.
This was a great movie & definitely one of my favorite comedy movies to watch since it came out in theaters.
Keep up the good work, Jax!😊
Possibly and arguably, the greatest comedy to date.
And Danny McBride is always welcome in any comedic offering. The dude is so naturally funny…
Thanks Jax👍🏻
If you haven't seen it, "The Hangover" would be an excellent choice for the next movie to watch. The two sequels are fantastic as well.
Watching Jax is always such a treat! You're so adorable watching the most unhinged movies as a sweetheart. XD
In the opening scene, the Vietcong shooting Fourleaf have Reverse-Stormtrooper Syndrome. They can't miss.
Asians using aimbots? Never......
I always love your reactions. ❤️
I love you reactions to watching Tropical Thunder, seeing you delve into your dark and wild side on how you express yourself, something I want to see more often,Jax.
One of the greatest comedies ever made, on so many levels. The story, the writing, the acting...all amazing, and hilarious.
Easily one of the best reactions I've seen to this movie! Thank you Jax for being intelligent enough to understand comedy and not get offended by everything
Jay Berenthal threw me for a loop. I KNEW I knew his voice from... somewhere. Then I rewatched "How to Train Your Dragon" again and there he was, as Hiccup!
Jay Baruchel. I know he's Canadian, but the dude deserves some respect.
Absolutely hilarious from start to finish. Your reaction to Tropic Thunder was, as with your other videos, delightfully entertaining.
This is one of the best Tropic Thunder reactions I've watched. Even though I've seen many reactions and have watched the movie several times, you still had me giggling throughout the entire reaction. Thank you! I had a blast! 😄
Robert Downey Jr was absolutely brilliant/hilarious as Lincoln Osiris. Tom Cruise was great as Les Grossman as him dancing is just iconic. Loved your reaction/analysis. Take care and have a good one. Big up
Lol, so when I went to see this, I was visiting one of my friends out in Las Vegas.
That smelled like bologna for some reason 😂😂😂😂 i forgot that part 😂
In the theater, so many people thought that the movie trailers were actual trailers, so people were still getting up for last min snacks and bathrooms stops while their friends had a big "oh shit" moment of realization 😂 Also on the actual DVD, if you turn on the commentary, RDJ is still in character as Kirk Lazarus and the cast is there with him just dying laughing
Another great one. Your delivery is the best.
Speaking as a Millennial, this is one of the last great comedies, before everyone got so sensitive.
I Love this Channel so much her smile is everything ❤❤❤
Thank you so much!!! I'm so glad you enjoyed this! 🥰
RDJ knowing its real but cant break character and can only try telling them as Osiris is both brilliant and fucking hysterical
So true!
I don't think I have seen you laugh so much before. That is why I watch your reactions. Such a good one. :)
"Tropic Thunder is sorta my Catcher in the Rye." 😂 Underrated joke.
" What do you mean you people?" LOL
I often say:
"I've had a belly full of you people!"
"And by 'you people' I mean everyone who's not me!"
I lost it when you said he was the only one who knew it was real. But he's also delusional🤣
one of the best comedies of all time
I love this movie so much!!!! Thank you for watching it!!!
I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. Too many reactors are afraid to laugh at something that's not PC.
RDJ really doesn't drop character till after the DVD commentary. It's so funny, he just rips on stiller and black the whole time.
Finally, Tropic Thunder dropped in.
I heard that Tom Cruise is working on a spinoff movie about Les Grossman. I hope it happens.
no shot, that ship has long since sailed
There are so many gifs I've used from this movie when I was more active on Social Media... 11:23 19:51 20:57
20:21 Yup, that's Reggie Lee (Wu from Grimm). Good catch, M'Lady. 👍
I watched this movie with my buddy when this came out in theatre
We didn't realize Les is Tom Cruise until end of the movie
We were dying laughing when we found out it is Tom Cruise 😁
Luv your laugh and reaction Jax!
20:03 Les Grossman fully embraces the Hannibal Directive
I found out about this movie about 18 months ago when a co worker told me about it and it has had me in tears laughing multiple times possibly one of the funniest movies I have ever seen just brilliant
Oh And One More Thing:The MTV Movie And Tv Awards From June 10,1992 To 2022! And 2 More Years To Come! Another MIND BLOWN!!!
One little touch many would not have caught is the author's uniform is classic stolen valor, being cobbled together like someone who did not know the meaning behind the patches they wear in public, so people in the army might have caught he was fake even before the hands came off (though also could have initially thought it was just poor research by film staff).
I literally could not have asked for a better bday gift. Ty for this Jax I'm gonna enjoy a slice of cookie cake with it! :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!! Cookie cake sounds delicious! I hope you have an amazing day! ❤️🎉❤️🎉
@@reactswithjax Thank you!! You too!
Holy shit she guessed Grossman right away! 😆 That's gotta be a record.
Perfect reaction. Thank you.
I always laugh so hard when Half Squat starts to stab speedman 😂😂😂
