Tropic Thunder - Movie Reaction - I Could Not Stop Laughing - Lord of the Reviews - Reaction

- In hopes of creating an epic war movie, a group of actors embark on what they believe to be a regular movie role. However, through a failed attempt at "Gorilla shooting", the actors are thrown into a real war type of environment. With a star studded cast consisting of: Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., Jack Black, Brandon T Jackson, Tom Cruise, and Matthew McConaughey, this movie made my sides hurt with laughter.

RDJ killed this role. I'm black and I loved his performance! He made the movie.
Granted, I haven't dove deep on it, but I have been hard pressed to find someone who is genuinely upset or offended by his performance. I think he did such an amazing job of showing that it's satire but also acted the hell out of the role.
I’ve said this before but this movie could definitely be made today. Just would require some to have the balls to do it because it’s funny as hell. The scene where Downey says to Sandusky to spit that shit out, is where he obviously break and start to laugh. One of my favorite scenes. Tom Cruise is great in this. One of his best roles. Downey does do the dvd commentary in character.
Soooo true. I’m hoping within the next few years more studios start to take chances and create more comedies like this. I love the early 2000’s comedies

@@LOTReviewsthe streaming platforms have killed the industry. The executives have always been about the money but now there's no real way to make revenue from anything that's not a super hero film. Until the filming process becomes less expensive or some new format comes around its unlikely.
@@russellward4624You can't solely blame streaming for that. Movie budgets have become so incredibly bloated that no one dares do anything that's not super flashy anymore. Excessive woke and cancel culture exacerbated by social media algorithms have done some serious damage as well.
But I think this is only going to be a blip in the timeline. Things will calm down, some things will shift around and they'll find way to make money from mid sized movies again. Executives are great at finding ways to make money.

All the actors did a good job, but Tom Cruise and RDJ stole the show 😂 At 20:09 RDJ is trying so hard not to laugh 😂😂😂😂
I cannot imagine how many cuts had to happen because the actors could not hold in laughs 😂
The adoption plot line is a commentary on how all these white celebs travel overseas to adopt children rather than the millions of children who need adoption in America.
Ok. I definitely see that now. Did seem a little forced into the plot. But it was hilarious at the end 😂.
Every line from RDJ is quotable, just like Val Kilmer in Tombstone. Iconic and hilarious!

RDJ really did do the entire DVD commentary in character as Osiris. Plus there was a whole mini-mockumentary included in the special features, showing Kirk Lazarus going through the process of assuming the character. It's hilarious.

It's hilarious don't get me wrong but I couldn't give it a 9-10, that's for like movies I have to watch all of the time. There was a few things that were like meh for me. Jack Black's character was funny but not at the level of the others. A case could be made for an 8. I really should come up with a concrete rating system so that it's consistent. Definitely quotable! Why is it when multiple people sacrifice themselves to save one life, we call them heroes instead of idiots? I mean, I'm sure there are cases where the math works out if you're willing to say that one life is more valuable than another, but most of the time?

By accident, Your reaction was displayed on the YT home page. I must admit that I had a lot of fun watching Your film. Tropic Thunder is one of the best comedies in my opinion. Especially now, when "political correctness" would prevent it from happening. I'd love to see Your other reactions. For my part, I recommend two of my favorite movies - Tenet by Nolan (if You've seen Interstellar, Inception, You should like it) and my most favorite movie - Alita: Battle Angel (cyberpunk movie based on the manga) by Cameron, directed by Robert Rodriguez.

Theyre not in Vietnam. If you remember he says you have to take them way out in the mjddle of knowhere. So theyve probably ended up in Myanmar because the Flaming Dragon guys are speaking Mandarin and nobody speaks Mandarin in Vietnam. Theyve got panda's and speak Mandarin there and its a heroin producer.

To say that nobody speaks Mandarin Chinese in Vietnam is just incorrect. While it is not popular, Mandarin is indeed spoken by some, a few, people in Vietnam, mainly in the north of the country. As well as Cantonese and other Chinese dialects.

This is a parody of Hollywood and references movies like the deer hunter, saving private Ryan, mission impossible, Indiana jones, platoon, we were soldiers, apocalypse now etc
