The first Madagascar was amazing, I rewatched it recently and god I was laughing my ass off, and I felt emotional when it was trying to be emotional. It was a great movie, and no matter how young I was and how old I am now I thoroughly enjoy it. And I loved Madagascar 2 even more. I cried multiple times when Alex reunited and when he was separated, even now I start to tear up when I think of those scenes. It isn't just the nostalgia though, I watched some movies I loved when I was little and I didn't enjoy it when I was older. But no matter what I will always love Madagascar. I have to say here's my list on my favorite dreamworks movies, 1: httyd series (most favorite being 1, but my favorite scene being stoiks death in httyd2) 2: Madagascar series (most favorite being 2) 3: every tradionally animated film they've made (best one being spirit) 4: Kung fu panda series (favorite being 2) 5: over the hedge (amazing humor, I piss myself laughing every time) 6: flushed away (surprisingly serious, I love it!) 7: bee movie (I love it because it's terrible, also i used to watch it on repeat over and over every day as a child, and Barry looks like my dad who I haven't seen in 10 years)
I think it was just an okay movie. There were plenty of funny scenes to be found, but the emotional scenes were not that amazing to me, and the obvious references to classic films gets really annoying. Also, the story was not that engaging to me, it felt very generic. The sequels were also nothing that spectacular either and felt like so many stories that came before it. I think Kung Fu Panda, Shrek, The Prince of Egypt and How to Train Your Dragon are far better in every way.

Even though I do like "Madagascar", I definitely agree that the characters constantly move around like they have ADHD. And that there are jokes being thrown around, left & right. It's kind of like the recent "Lego Batman Movie". These kinds of movies are definitely not for everybody.

Overall opinion: I think that my opinion of Dreamworks movies and yours are indeed diferent, but similar enough for me to agree.

My thoughts on the worst and best DreamWorks films: I actually kinda like Turbo. Even with racial stereotypes, bland characters and an overused story, it does have some clever writing, some good jokes and pretty cool designs for the snails’ upgrades. Home is also pretty good but Oh does get very annoying after a while. Madagascar (the first one) is an DreamWorks classic and very enjoyable. Trolls does have some good music although the rest of the film is kinda bad. Shark Tale just plain sucks. How to Train Your Dragon 1 and 2 are awesome and really takes the child-pet relationship out there. I haven’t seen Spirit but I’ve heard it’s good. Same with Prince of Egypt. Kung Fu Panda 2 is another one of those DreamWorks classics which are good. I’m pretty surprised you didn’t mention Shrek. That film is what really started DreamWorks Animation in the first place.

Honestly, I loved home, especially the mother-daughter relationship. Also, oh is annoying but, I really feel bad for him. He was given that nickname after everyone hated him, so, yeah. But no hate or anything just my opinion.
I think Trolls was an okay movie. Not amazing, but okay. Yes, it's a bit pandering and the characters are a little bit bland, to the point where I ended up caring more about the Bergens than the Trolls, but it was an enjoyable movie with a lot of heart, and actually has a couple of quiet moments. I feel like they definitely could have done better, but it's certainly watchable, if not enjoyable
One question. Did you find Poppy at all interesting and caring about her as much as or more than than the Bergens? And don't forget about the animation mate.
To me, the worst DreamWorks movie I've ever seen is Bee Movie. And no, it's not because of the recent meme. To me, the characters in that film are either stupid, obnoxious, or both, the romance is just creepy, and the plot basically has ADHD as it keeps jumping from one conflict to the next. And it has pop culture references that would make Shrek and Shark Tale cringe in disgust!
Cure Hana while Bee movie has its moments I do ultimately agree because unlike Madagascar which was a great farce to me personally Bee Movie has that dialogue-driven humor of a Seinfeld episode and while I like that and it does have some great moments all in all it gets kind of boring to me. it's why I could never truly agree with the common opinion that Shark tail is their worst film because with all the problems of that movie it was never boring and I felt like I have more investment in the narrative which takes a bigger Focus. this is all just me talking though
Wow, this is the second time I´ve seen Patrick Warburton save a movie for you (first time would be Kronk´s New Groove). Nothing against that fact, I just think it´s an interesting coincidence!
I also think thay Madagascar 1 is not that great in retrospect, but 3 is amazing just for the Firework Circus scene (weirdly, I couldn't think of a better tie-in song than Firework from Katy Perry). Also, the Penguins are hands down the most iconic Dreamworks character ever and for good reason. They are hilarious. P. S. : Of course, #1 can't even be questioned. It'd Dreamworks' magnum opus. I always find Jambareeqi's videos to be enjoyable. Even if I disagree with him, he reviews such a variety of animation that it's easy for me, a huge animation fan myself, to get invested. Hope he keeps going for a long time! P.S. Yay! Kung Fu Panda 2 FTW! (Yeah Spoilers :P)

How to Train Tour Dragon (both 1,2 and 3) would be my first pick. The animation, stories, music, characters and everything else is perfect. The bond between Hiccup and Toothless is so heartwarming, the animation and music fits together perfectly and the designs are beautiful. That's just my opinion.

I disagree with the choice of Home. Yeah, it plays into typical alien humor and Oh is obnoxious at first, but other than that it's a great movie! It's inventive, Tip's storyline is absolutely amazing, and Oh does improve a bit in the end. It tugged at my heartstrings the first time I saw it. It's not really fantastic nor is it bad, but I like it!

In my opinion, I really like all the Madgascar movies, just of much I watched them and how much references and jokes I get when I watch the movies now.
I could not disagree with you more with Home. O is such an adorable and hilarious character that you feel bad for because he's been isolated by his alien friends. I never found him annoying at all. And it's such a creative sci-fi movie with likable and memorable, colorful animation, some really funny moments, and such a beautiful and emotional ending. It should not be even close to the worst list of Dreamworks. It's a very good film. If you want to know more of why I really liked Home, watch the Black Critic Guy's review of it. I pretty much almost agree with everything he says.

Firstly I'm glad you've started to credit your patrons in all of your videos from now on. My favourite Dreamworks film is Shrek 2 and my least favourite is Shrek Forever After.
I disagree about trolls, the interesting animation made it pretty tolerable, and although the songs didn't contribute much, they were all performed well.
I loved Madagascar and watched it so much as a kid, so it’s definitely very nostalgic for me, but I can totally see why people don’t like it. I doubt it’s aged very well with me and the humor and characters are pretty hyperactive, so it’s not for everyone.

Even though I do like "Madagascar", I definitely agree that the characters constantly move around like they have ADHD. And that there are jokes being thrown around, left & right. It's kind of like the recent "Lego Batman Movie". These kinds of movies are definitely not for everybody.
The difference for me being The LEGO Batman Movie did take a break at times for some slow moments and drama, which it does well in my opinion.

KFP 2 is definitely my favourite, but HTTYD would be a close second and Shrek 2 close after that. All three are amazing films in my opinion.

My thoughts on the worst and best DreamWorks films:
I actually kinda like Turbo. Even with racial stereotypes, bland characters and an overused story, it does have some clever writing, some good jokes and pretty cool designs for the snails’ upgrades.
Home is also pretty good but Oh does get very annoying after a while.
Madagascar (the first one) is an DreamWorks classic and very enjoyable.
Trolls does have some good music although the rest of the film is kinda bad.
Shark Tale just plain sucks.
How to Train Your Dragon 1 and 2 are awesome and really takes the child-pet relationship out there.
I haven’t seen Spirit but I’ve heard it’s good. Same with Prince of Egypt.
Kung Fu Panda 2 is another one of those DreamWorks classics which are good.
I’m pretty surprised you didn’t mention Shrek. That film is what really started DreamWorks Animation in the first place.

Honestly, I loved home, especially the mother-daughter relationship. Also, oh is annoying but, I really feel bad for him. He was given that nickname after everyone hated him, so, yeah. But no hate or anything just my opinion.
Personally, I though Trolls was better than I expected, but that doesn't necessarily make it a good movie. It was based mostly around marketing.
I think Trolls was an okay movie. Not amazing, but okay. Yes, it's a bit pandering and the characters are a little bit bland, to the point where I ended up caring more about the Bergens than the Trolls, but it was an enjoyable movie with a lot of heart, and actually has a couple of quiet moments. I feel like they definitely could have done better, but it's certainly watchable, if not enjoyable
One question. Did you find Poppy at all interesting and caring about her as much as or more than than the Bergens? And don't forget about the animation mate.

To me, the worst DreamWorks movie I've ever seen is Bee Movie. And no, it's not because of the recent meme. To me, the characters in that film are either stupid, obnoxious, or both, the romance is just creepy, and the plot basically has ADHD as it keeps jumping from one conflict to the next. And it has pop culture references that would make Shrek and Shark Tale cringe in disgust!

Cure Hana while Bee movie has its moments I do ultimately agree because unlike Madagascar which was a great farce to me personally Bee Movie has that dialogue-driven humor of a Seinfeld episode and while I like that and it does have some great moments all in all it gets kind of boring to me. it's why I could never truly agree with the common opinion that Shark tail is their worst film because with all the problems of that movie it was never boring and I felt like I have more investment in the narrative which takes a bigger Focus. this is all just me talking though

I also think thay Madagascar 1 is not that great in retrospect, but 3 is amazing just for the Firework Circus scene (weirdly, I couldn't think of a better tie-in song than Firework from Katy Perry). Also, the Penguins are hands down the most iconic Dreamworks character ever and for good reason. They are hilarious.
P. S. : Of course, #1 can't even be questioned. It'd Dreamworks' magnum opus. It even beats many Pixar movies in my opinion, with the exception of Up (duh) and maybe Toy Story.

How to Train Tour Dragon (both 1,2 and 3) would be my first pick. The animation, stories, music, characters and everything else is perfect. The bond between Hiccup and Toothless is so heartwarming, the animation and music fits together perfectly and the designs are beautiful. That's just my opinion.

I could not disagree with you more with Home. O is such an adorable and hilarious character that you feel bad for because he's been isolated by his alien friends. I never found him annoying at all. And it's such a creative sci-fi movie with likable and memorable, colorful animation, some really funny moments, and such a beautiful and emotional ending. It should not be even close to the worst list of Dreamworks. It's a very good film. If you want to know more of why I really liked Home, watch the Black Critic Guy's review of it. I pretty much almost agree with everything he says.

I disagree about trolls, the interesting animation made it pretty tolerable, and although the songs didn't contribute much, they were all performed well.

I loved Madagascar and watched it so much as a kid, so it’s definitely very nostalgic for me, but I can totally see why people don’t like it. I doubt it’s aged very well with me and the humor and characters are pretty hyperactive, so it’s not for everyone.
