    Thanks for your video! $25/hr seems ok, but you have to consider other expenses (oil changes, tires, etc.) - most driver's expenses are around $4-8/hr.; and then tax you will have to pay at end of year. :)

      So true. When you minus ware and tare it does bring the hourly wage down quite a bit. I still personally would rather be driving for Uber than working 9 to 5 at a retail store.

      If you track your mileage you don't pay taxes at the end of the year. Regardless of what anyone else will tell you, as soon as you hit the button to go online and accept rides, all mileage that you drive is tax deductible. Some people will try to say that you can only use mileage when you have someone in your car, but that is incorrect information. I know someone who who worked in the IRS for 40 years who has confirmed that any mileage driven while under the assumption of work can be deducted. If you keep track of all your mileage it will offset all taxes that you owe at the end of the year. You still have to fill out the correct forms, but it will offset.

    Let me save you the time, As of Nov 10, 2023, the average hourly pay for Uber / Lyft Driver in the United States is $17.76 an hour. Sure, some markets can do $25 an hour on average. But when most Uber drivers brag about their pay, they forget to calculate expenses: gas, maintenance, repairs, new tires every 3 months, and car depreciation. So calculating all those factors in, you make about minimum wage or a little over it. Not worth it!

    • @user-vt6cs4mn7f
      @user-vt6cs4mn7f 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @EverybodyLovesGreg lol sure. “80K a year” but if you need to work 60 hours a week for it (and most Lyft / Uber drivers work at least 60-70 hours a week) it’s turn to be about $25 an hour… which is exactly what I said. But then again, you’re “80-100k” don’t factor in all the expenses. So in reality you work 60 hours a week, for about 50-60K

    • @gatolibero8329
      @gatolibero8329 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah. I did the math on her numbers. Only taking into account the IRS cost per mile of .65 cents for maintenance and not taxes, she made about $6.50 an hour. She actually drove a lot for very little return. 120 miles in about 4 hours is quite a trip. I drive our family car about 200 miles in a week. Imagine doing that every day, and your car is going to need maintenance on the regular. 😮

    Hi Keisha, I am in Vancouver, BC. I have recently started driving for uber here and there for a little extra cash on the side. I have an electric car so I feel that in itself makes it worth it. I find that when I have gone online on a Friday night-8pm ish, that the requests are non-stop. Online for two hours and twenty minutes. I made $130 including tips (7 trips). Your math is incorrect. You do not count tips. You did not make, not even 90 bucks, figure out that just to drive around for 4 hours that cost is about 9 bucks an hour. That is 36 dollars under the radar. Now you have to pay tax, If you didn't get tips, how much did you really earn? And if you get tips, you also pay tax on that,
    Do you know why we do not see fair price notices on the app in certain places?
    That is because once we see what they are trying to pay, we will neglect the request.
    I usually go home and turn off my app when I see this.
    I was doing this on a full-time basis and had to stop because it was costing me money at times. Now I do Uber once in a while until they decide to pay us better. They are taking more than half of the rider's money and giving drivers a third of the percent from what they are profiting.
    It's a great platform and can be an exciting experience when they back up away from their greedy marketing.
    I am looking into other venues such as driving for other companies and means of transport. The market is good for jobs.

    Uber and Lyft is screwing drivers. You appear happy with what you got but they are taking between 60 and 70% of what the customers pay. All the expenses are on us drivers. Please be not so happy with their crumbs.

    Hi Uber shows how much you getting for the ride.

    • @KeishaJoy_
      @KeishaJoy_  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It does not show me the trip details if I don’t accept every single ride. I get penalized but once I except a few rides in a row, then I will get the details of the trip request. I don’t know if that’s a California thing or because I’m not a higher ranked driver, not sure.
