I saw Crowbar live by accident. I went to see The Melvins at The Masquerade in Atlanta. They finished early and I was drunk so I walked into another part of the venue that had Crowbar playing on a different stage. Great show. FACT!
I first got into Crowbar because I saw Phil wearing their shirts during those early tours in the 90's. Same thing with Eyehategod too. Killer New Orleans music.
I remember back in the day, a friend of mine came over to my place with a cassette, which was like the "Crossing all over" CDs and the first song that came was "waiting in silence", which totally blew me away! I am a Crowbar Fan ever since...
He'd certainly get abused as much as Corey was. That's kind of a fucked up joke to make, actually. But the truth Phil's male heirs are going to be metal Gods. The only way his children are going to be spared of that are if he only has daughters.
I had the privilege to meet Kirk when Crowbar came to Louisville, KY. He made a pit stop at Mom's Music before the gig at Diamond Pub to get a microphone and a friend of mine calls me, "Dude! I don't care what you're doing right now get your ass down here at Mom's music you'll never believe who walked in here!" Without hesitation I got in my car and hauled ass to Mom's music and walk in and there he was. "Kirk, you're such an inspiration to my music! Care for a quick picture with me and my girlfriend?" "Thank you man. Yeah, sure no problem!" A little surprised by how short he was! Lol. But a legend and bar none one of the most down to earth severely underrated rockstars around! 🤘
Kirk is fucking awesome! He's blunt, to the point, a great performer, Crowbar kicks ass and having meet him after a concert, he's one one cool, down to earth person.
7:10 I did a hard rock cover of Eleanor Rigby back in 1994. Think it's on my channel still. I did it on an 8 track cassette recorder (Tascam 688 MIDI Studio).
When Kirk says he remembers listening to the first Carnivore record (for those who don't know) That's a band that Peter Steele was part of before he became even more famous for starting the band Type O Negative. just kindof a fun fact :P
Damn. I remember this shit. Saw The Slugs open for Exhorder in 1990 at Storyville, and a friend of mine bought a guitar from Craig Nunenmacher's brother Steve Nunenmacher (Stevie Blaze of Lillian Axe) in the 80s. 1987-1990 was an awesome time to live in the NOLA area.
Kirk rules, man. I met him at Peabody's in Cleveland, we talked Carnivore, Pantera, Down and of course crowbar as we knew each other. Then even took a pic and took my scribbled facebook for our band...he probably didn't like it but that's all good. He's a good man. And top musician. Rock on Kirk! \m/
I grew up next to Matt's friends. Listening to these guys hanging out, partying, sometimes hearing them fuckin' off on the guitars is what exposed me to metal a bit more than I had already been. They are why I was even remotely interested in playing drums in high school. Killer dude and overall fun group. Edit to add: Matt, Crowbar's current bass
The guy's a hardcore heavy metal soldier, I'll give him that. Give him the tools, and he'll do the job. Some of the best and catchiest riffs I've ever heard were created by his hands!
I love how Gruhammed asked the sensitive question about the tragic suicide, Kirk answered it candidly, and then Gruh asked a couple of follow up questions without probing or being insensitive about it. Bravo to both guys for talking about it.
My aunt was one of those saints. After Jr's major fuckup, she was one of the heads with the Army Corps of Engineers who worked tirelessly to rebuild the levies.
He’s a simple easy going, although he’s one of the heaviest riffers. I don’t recall seeing him enraged or lose his temper. That aggressive look has one of the nicest character.
Wagner Antichrist Yeah, I can hear the similarities...Phil sounds a little more baritone, but yeah, they sound a lot alike...personally, I wish I had that kinda raspy, growly voice X^D
Kirk!! First Time I met him I was 13 and it was when he was in Wrequiem in…’89, I think. Mike Williams, from EHG was also singing for a band called Crawlspace with the mighty Joe Fazzio on drums. They both opened for Graveyard Rodeo that night at the VFW hall and Christians were protesting outside. He’s one of the greatest guy you’ll ever want to meet, as you can tell from this video!! 🤘🏼⚜️
BigMuff75 if he’s been able to do it for 30 years and still sounds this good, I’d say his technique is just fine. James Hetfield blew out his voice within a decade. Kirk still sounds great
i saw crowbar back in 1993 with sacred reich.crowbar fucking jammed.sacred reich comes on and 3 songs in stops in mid song and starts bitching at the audience for getting on the stage to stage dive, saying that "if one more person climbs on this stage we are leaving" we flipped them off and left.good times
His voice is in drop a
His voice is a bass riff.

B standard, actually.
Definitely on that 8 string
😂 nice 🤘

Ha, that's awesome.
Ive seen Crowbar. Great band. Alot of energy. I have also met Kirk numerous times. Great dude
I miss the Masquerade
Lucky accident
Love Crowbar and Melvins!!!
"You don't need an enemy to have a war". That sounds like a fantastic album title.
Definitely a good song title at least
Sounds exactly like a Hatebreed song or album..
You're your own worst enemy...
Crowbar is so underrated
I don't think so, it's an acquired taste. Not an easy listen for most people.
@Baron B. Baronson great point
Yeah, and especially the Down supergroup. NOLA is my favorite Stoner Metal album apart from Acid Bath's two albums.
haha their fat
Crowbar has a great discography and Kirk sounds like roz from monsters inc.
I first got into Crowbar because I saw Phil wearing their shirts during those early tours in the 90's. Same thing with Eyehategod too. Killer New Orleans music.
Eyehategod is fucking amazing. Haven't seen that name dropped in a long fucking time.
I first got into them after seeing them on Beavis and Butthead. :)
Likewise dude. Got into a lot of shit thru Phil & his shirts
I try & do the same. Band shirts and jeans
@@superstarthomas Same here
I got into crowbar through hatebreed
I met Kirk at a Crowbar concert in Dallas...took a picture with him...such a nice guy!
Wow if you have never seen Crowbar live, ya better get on it! So worth it, this music will fade away in the next decade...if we dont keep it alive
Saw Crowbar with Killswitch Engage. Crowbar is so in your face and I love it. Met Kirk backstage in Providence RI. Such a cool guy
Kirk is a great man who doesn't disrespect or disappoint fans.
I remember back in the day, a friend of mine came over to my place with a cassette, which was like the "Crossing all over" CDs and the first song that came was "waiting in silence", which totally blew me away! I am a Crowbar Fan ever since...
He looks like if Billy Joel were the guitarist for Slayer.
Reiki Martin yes! that's perfect
XXthekingofyouXX He said that he's a Christian.
Yeaaah those Joel eyes
That....is exactly right!
Wow your right I never thought of that 😁
No, imagine him and Phil Anselmo had a child...

@@voteZDLR fucking Plebian 😅😅😅😅 Ever heard of goddesses?
I met him at a show a couple nights ago. friendliest guy i have ever met!
I've met Kirk many times. Such a cool and down to earthh dude

He sounds quite a bit like Anselmo.
They were in the same band for a long time.
Except a little more together
Cigarettes will do that
All us New Orleaneans sound like that. Hes got a chalmette/metarie accent. Google it. Im a local lol

Just saw superjoint at the agora!
Anyone of you guys see them at beachland ballroom last week?
I just went and listened to Eleanor Rigby by the Beatles trying to imagine how it would sound sung by Kirk, but I can't put into words the sensation
My favorite band ever
Sludge-Metal Elenor Rigby is something I didn't realize I needed til today...
I want this, now.
Met him at Diamond Pub in Louisville after a concert, great guy and incredible guitarist

Looking forward to talking to Kirk tonight on my channel!
BRO I'M OPENING FOR THESE GUYS NEXT FUCKING WEEK!
Kirk is such s genuine man!! Thank you BROTHER
Kirk's epic beard
Wow, never knew he was almost in exhorder, we would have never gotten crowbar.
The guy's a hardcore heavy metal soldier, I'll give him that. Give him the tools, and he'll do the job. Some of the best and catchiest riffs I've ever heard were created by his hands!

Kirk is awesome just like his riffs are as well!!!!
I'm glad to have had the pleasure of meeting him
Met Kirk in Grand Rapids Michigan. Cool dude, going to see them on September 30th.
Now Dimebag has gone this is surely the world's greatest beard!
Kirk inspired Kratos of the last God of war lol
I wish a had a voice the constantly sounded like an armpit fart
You wanted to say he sounds like amp distortion.
I can recall the shows in Detroit...St Andrews Hall...magic hat ? maybe ? damn 90's. had so much fun...thanks man
I hope Kirk is alive when Pantera goes into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and is on stage during the acceptance ceremony🙏
He’s a simple easy going, although he’s one of the heaviest riffers. I don’t recall seeing him enraged or lose his temper. That aggressive look has one of the nicest character.
his voice is growly as fuck
cigarettes and alcohol do that
Kirk and Phil almost sound the same lol
Wagner Antichrist I was thinking the same thing while watching the video
its like gravel and molasses..mmm
Wagner Antichrist Yeah, I can hear the similarities...Phil sounds a little more baritone, but yeah, they sound a lot alike...personally, I wish I had that kinda raspy, growly voice X^D

Mine too. :) She has a good taste. She loves metal. I actually got her into metal.
Pepper's fuckin' awesome, man!
I wish Kirk had talked about what 3 Suns and 1 Star is about off Over the Under.
'Three Suns and One Star' is about Dimebag
I'd kill to have one of those DOWN demo tapes!
Nice High on Fire shirt.

and Kirk is actually Christian.
he sounds like phil
Or a combination of Phil Anselmo and Sammy Duet. It is a NOLA thing I guess.
Hanter eh kinda, it's just a Louisiana thing
Its more like a "screaming for 30 years w/o proper technique and smoke thing"
Steve Back No cause no one else in any New Orleans band sounds like them. They dudes don’t even have a New Orleans accent.
BigMuff75 if he’s been able to do it for 30 years and still sounds this good, I’d say his technique is just fine. James Hetfield blew out his voice within a decade. Kirk still sounds great
Graham you forgot that he’s also a member of metalcore band kingdom of sorrow
Ok, got it. Play guitar sober, sing when buzzed.

Slam! (Let the boys be boys)! SLAM!!!
"Dude let's get a bunch of beer, get back to my apartment and talk about shit" and the rest is history.
Kirk would have made a good game of thrones or lord of the rings extra.
Kirk is such a nice dude.
I've never seen anyone talking smack about Kirk, he seem to be that one guy everyone likes and wanna hang out with.

I thought this was somehow about the Canadian band, "Crowbar". Oh, what a feeling, what a rushhhhhh...
