You see a house, and instantly know that someone built it. Why don't you see the same for the universe? Conservation of energy speaks to needing something outside the system to be the source and the cause of what now exists. People and events mentioned in the Bible do line up with Egyptian, Babylonian, Persian and Roman history. History also gives evidence that Jesus lived. The whole of Christianity hinges on the claim that Jesus rose from the dead. If you can disregard the accounts of the 500 people that saw him, think about his disciples: either 11 men saw him come back from the dead and it changed their lives, or they decided among themselves to lie - and carrying out the lie all 11 were beaten, imprisoned, crucified, beheaded, crucified. If it were a lie, why would all 11 go to such lengths?
Think about what's happening in the world: values in the countries what were 'Christian Nations', where people regardless of race and ability are treated with respect, where you love your neighbor, do to others how you'd want then to treat you.. mainly the West (Canada, US, UK), contrast this with the track record in Muslim areas, with Marxism, Communism. It's not a perfect example but something to think about. People will always be broken and imperfect, but fundamentals matter. '
Look into the term 'cultural Christian': it's been adopted by some people that aren't Christians (believe God exists/Jesus is the Son of God), but recognize that adopting a Christian framework for society is the way to go
Ayan, like her husband Niall Ferguson, seem to me to have adopted Christianity by a type of “utilitarian” or pragmatic calculus, insofar as it might act as a bulwark against Islam and supposed leftist ideologies. This seems to me to be of a different type of belief, one that is not really sincere. Belief is not something that can just be rationally adopted for pragmatic purposes, it must coincide with some transcendental experience. I think we are witnessing a resurgence of Christianity, but it is one which is very secular, and not of the same genus as traditional belief in religion.
I'm astounded at the farcical notion that a deity has any relationship to a believer. Men have always known God as a tool of fiction, propaganda, & rhetoric.

John, I respect your work but you're living in an echo chamber. New atheism did its job for the time, other matters are dominating dialogue. Once the extreme left/wokeness abates and we return to the sensible middle, which is where new atheism lives, I think you'll find it alive and well.
This Christian God wants us to seek the Truth [and to keep honing in on it] . . . to seek Justice and/or Peace . . . and hopefully both. He believes in mercy, generosity, and magnanimity in victory He believes in honesty, tolerance and politeness He wishes us to look for ways of co-existing with our enemies [building bridges] . . . . and to pass on his values to our youth He wishes for every individual to fulfil their potential, . . . through opportunity, and choice. He is the God of our Western civilisation, and we truly hope that the other Gods/ideologies will do some catching up !
Atheism is not at a turning point. Church attendance continues to dwindle. Religion isn't useful as a spiritual fulfillment in one's life. There are many other choices that are more meaningful. The old sinner mindset, give your life to Christ & your money to the church ain't cutting it, anymore.

Lots of very sane reasons to be Islamophobic. Example, if you are born in Islam you cannot escape or disagree without becoming an apostate or blasphemer - both of which are punishable by death in many places where Islam has power. Hundreds of other reasons - all substantial. No one needs to submit to it.

Wrong. "I don't believe in God" = "I believe that there is no God." Atheism is an "anti religion" religion.
