It amazes me that after everything you see in these videos and all the comments by his teammates and adversaries that people still think that Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, ronaldinho and so on ARE the GOATs. They're great, but Maradona embodies everything you wish to be on the field. The leadership, the competitive spirit, the generosity, the respect for the game, the hunger, the determination, the child within, the control, dribbling, speed, cunning..... god, the list is endless. The fact is that no one can beat that. No other player can top that.
Excellent comment. For me, the only player that came close to touching the stardust from which Maradona was made is Zinedine Zidane - that same insane first touch, balletic balance, close-quarters control, skill, vision, and elegance - but even then it still isn’t close. Maradona is otherworldly, god-tier gifted.

There's a goal maradonna scores against ac Milan with hes head from well outside the area ..quite unique never seen a player score with there head from well outside the area ..also a great team player
You touched upon it, but the difference between Maradona and Mesi/C Ronaldo, is that Maradona had no protection from the ref. Football was far more physical in the 80's. I admire Messi a great deal, but he wouldn't dominate a match like Maradona could, if defenders were allowed to hack him down. Maradona had a will to succeed and a physicality, that would make him unplayable in the modern game. He would have so much time and freedom on the ball. I love Messi and C Ronaldo, Ronaldo Nazario was a phenomenon, Bergkamp was just poetry in motion, Cruyff and Pele were majestic - but Maradona is the GOAT
One huge big difference is Maradonna did this as midfielder. He had good workrate and worked back home. Messi is walking around and burst out energy now and then. Maradonna had to run back to defense aswell.
People need to realize that the tackle from behind was legal when Maradona played. He got the living shit kicked out of him but he kept coming. He was as hard as nails too. Watch the brawl that took place when he played for Barcelona. Messi and Ronaldo would have wet themselves
"He's the original", you said it. He invented all the football you've seen, the FIFA changed the rules after 1982 World Cup because of the really nasty tackles to Maradona that left Argentina (the champion) away of that World cup. My first time in a stadium was with Maradona in 1992, and as argentinian i can truly say that, sadly, it's impossible to transmit. You can hear the Beatles now, but you'll never understand what THAT meant when they did it. Maradona created the modern football in every single play, he taught all who followed how to play and what could be done with a ball. Obviously those who ran with that advantage (and infinitely better conditions and care) had time to beat him in records and marks. But when we compare here with Messi and people asks about "the goat". I say: "Ask the ball..." (absolute silence).
The three main differences between Maradona and Messia are: 1 Maradona was much more a leader (and captain) on the field then Messi ever was. 2 The football era Maradona was playing in was much harder and brutal then today's era (much less protection from the referees) 3 The general quality of the football pitches back in the '70s and '80s was way worse (uneven, lots of mud or sand, extremely dry grass)
At that time the Italian league was the best in the world, in addition to the most defensive and the most permissive by the referees. Maradona played in a mid-table team and came out champion, against everyone... not to mention his ability and talent, It goes without saying that he is without a doubt the best of all time.
Trust me, young man, watchin' clips about D10S can not tell what he really has been for team mates, for other players, and for the foottball in general.
I think the thing to keep in mind when watching the past greats is that they also had to deal with much harsher tackles and intentional fouls. So when you see what current players are doing, ask yourslef if they would risk doing these moves when theres a real threat of injury.
Mradona won the Serie A title with Napoli, /.........to give some context, Serie A at the time, WAS the Prem in that it was teh best league, around 5 -6 teams could win it, and each of them had the best players from all over. Maradona took Napoli from a mid table side to winning the thing against the best players in the world. It would be like Neymar joining Brighton on Crystal Palace, and within a couple of seasons they win back to back Premierships, He did the same with Argentina and the world Cup, they were average and he pretty much did the Gerrard Liverpool 05 thing, ut even more so , with the World cup could Messi or Ronaldo or Neymar do that? I dont think so myself, and this is why he is the GOAT for me, but I respect anyone else having a different opinion, and I can see why people today say Messi and Ronaldo ,they are both phenomenal
It was the Prem if Prem had Real Madrid, Barcelo and Bayern...today's prem is not comparable to Serie A in the 90's. To give some perepective I am convinced that Napoli without Maradona could have easily been top 3 in Prem at that time, but was mid table in Italy.
Most important thing about Maradona is that he became very successful while playing in super average teams, neither Argentina nor Napoli were like Messis Barcelona or Zidanes Real/Juve/France, Ronaldos Manchester/Real and of course they were nothing like Brazil at any given time. Many great players highly profit from having great talent around them but only Maradona could elevate his teammates to a decent level of success. I have never seen anything like it ever again.
16:10 there's a fun fact about that game... Maradona was in his first team, Argentinos Juniors, playing against Boca Juniors... before that game, Hugo Gatti (one of Boca's most important goalkeepers in history) was asked about Maradona and he basically called him "gordito" which means "fatty" in Spanish. Well... those words got to Diego before the game, the result was 5-3 and Maradona scored 4 goals. Just a glimpse of his character and talent at such young age.
If you are thinking of any other player better than him, then you are not a true footballer! If anyone understands football then they know deep down that no matter who is their personal favorite, that player can never quite measure upto the standards that MARADONA set in the world of football
06:20 thank you, you are the first person I have seen react to an older player and actually acknowledge, not just the crazy rough tackles, but also, the pitch, pitches back then? SUCKED!!, that is another reason I am not convinced Messi would do as well as Maradona if they swapped era's, both would still be great players, but I think Messi would find it harder than Diego would
I have a mountain of respect to Pele, to Cruyff, to Lionel, to Puskas, but .... Diego Armando ...... If you are born in the 80's, you know there is Superman out there A man like you and me, with strengths and weeknesses Diego could be a friend of mine, caughting up on Mondays and Thursdays The friend I've never had, but somehow I always have
The true goat. What he did in 86 and at Napoli cannot be surpassed. He joined them from Barca when they were nearly relegated the season before and led them to two league championships and a European trophy in an era where they were competing with AC Milan which was the best team on the planet. Napoli only won their third ever title last season, the first since he left. They’d won nothing before he arrived there and it took over 30 years to win their next.
Remember that when Maradona was playing they did not have all the rules that would protect him. So he was on his own, and had to survive it all. Messi lives in a world where there are lots more rules. This is what footballers say.
Thisthe reason why i think Maradona is one of the 3 true legends of football, the other 2 being Pele & Ronaldo. I'm in my late 50s now, & back then, i tried to watch as much football as i can, especially when he was at Barca & Napoli. The only reason why Messi & Cristiano are not in the same league as Pele, Maradona & Ronaldo is bcoz them 2 never won the World Cup. No matter how many goals you scored, there's nothing like scoring in the WC and winning it. Maradona, Pele & Ronaldo literally carried the entire team and the hope of a nation on their shoulders. Maradona, the true legend of football
If you love the free kicks, you NEED to check out the free kick MASTER - Ronald Koeman, of the Netherlands, and Barcelona. In a star studded line up, Ronald, a DEFENDER, is your man for anything remotely in shooting range. He got some INCREDIBLE power, bend, and accuracy. The Ajax of the 70's was fascinating too. Ajax were a tiny little provincial town club with like 3 part time employees, when Johann Cryuff came through their youth ranks. They happened to have quite a few REALLY good players at that time, and a revolutionary coach. They brought Total Football to the world, where every player can play in every position. They won the European Cup, the equivalent of the Champions League. Many of their players were also in the Netherlands national team. They lost two World Cup Finals in a row, 1974 then 1978. The 1978 team, Cryuff played a much bigger role. If I recall, the coach of Ajax was also the coach for the Netherlands.
Newer Generation will never understand how good Maradona was. People older enough to watch Maradona and Messi say Maradona was better. The tackles were brutal most the tackles he avoids are red cards in todays games. Maradona won league with a less superior team with Napoli against great Italian teams
OF COURSE HE IS THE REAL GOAT!!. Why is everyone so surprised with Messi and a lot more, when this GOD LIKE A PLAYER made it all before AND EVEN BETTER???. HE CREATED NEW THINGS!!
Yes exactly the pitches where nowhere near as immaculate as they are today and quite often mud baths and they got away with fails a lot so he was heavily failed etc Also he would have easily surpassed goal terms against pele for starters pele was an out and out goal scorer from his style of play as where maradona set up goals with his super skills and perfect pin point passing to set up goals and through doing this he could have scored a lot more than he did but was happy to not want to keep scoring for himself and set up goals for the importance of winning as a team when any opportunitys presented themselves rather than always wanting to score for himself He also carried a team doing very badly and carried them all on his own to victories and won world cup on his own He has also teached and influenced great players like messi etc Yeah in my book he is easily the best to date

Nadie le quitaba la pelota. Diego hacia lo que quería. Genial compilado.
Maradona is the GOAT
The King Maradona
Simply the GOAT !!!
At that time the Italian league was the best in the world, in addition to the most defensive and the most permissive by the referees. Maradona played in a mid-table team and came out champion, against everyone... not to mention his ability and talent, It goes without saying that he is without a doubt the best of all time.
At 52 years i am , this is the best player i ve seen so far , still waiting to see another one like he was
If Maradona played today he would be even better, which by itself, is something impossible to comprehend!
I have seen many great soccer players, but there's no denying this man!
He is indeed the GOAT!
thanks for immortalizing him, may he rest in peace
Maradona and Ronaldinho, I loved watching them play , you never knew what they were going to do with the ball
Maradona elegance..GOAT
Trust me, young man, watchin' clips about D10S can not tell what he really has been for team mates, for other players, and for the foottball in general.
He is, was and will be the best of all time. No doubt
It would be like Neymar joining Brighton on Crystal Palace, and within a couple of seasons they win back to back Premierships,
He did the same with Argentina and the world Cup, they were average and he pretty much did the Gerrard Liverpool 05 thing, ut even more so , with the World cup
could Messi or Ronaldo or Neymar do that? I dont think so myself,
and this is why he is the GOAT for me, but I respect anyone else having a different opinion, and I can see why people today say Messi and Ronaldo ,they are both phenomenal
It was the Prem if Prem had Real Madrid, Barcelo and Bayern...today's prem is not comparable to Serie A in the 90's. To give some perepective I am convinced that Napoli without Maradona could have easily been top 3 in Prem at that time, but was mid table in Italy.
I'm Argentinian, I love Lio but he is just the right feet of Diego!
Diego Maradona -GOAT of football 👍
TE QUIEROOO DIEGOOOO!!!!
Maradona Magic
It takes two to tango: Diego and the ball.
The best! GOAT.
Diego was AMAZING!, thanks for the video!
And he did all these glimpse of genius in higher occasions e.g world cup.
Glimpse?
Ever Diego.
I put prime Diego Armando Maradona above anyone I've seen in my lifetime !!! And I'm 50
The greatest !! An artist that will not be repeated.
If you are thinking of any other player better than him, then you are not a true footballer! If anyone understands football then they know deep down that no matter who is their personal favorite, that player can never quite measure upto the standards that MARADONA set in the world of football
Diego Armando Maradona there's only one. GOD blessed him with the talent to take him and his family out of poverty and rise to be the GOAT.
06:20 thank you, you are the first person I have seen react to an older player and actually acknowledge, not just the crazy rough tackles, but also, the pitch, pitches back then? SUCKED!!, that is another reason I am not convinced Messi would do as well as Maradona if they swapped era's, both would still be great players, but I think Messi would find it harder than Diego would
Good reactiins man saludos from Salta Argentina
I have a mountain of respect to Pele, to Cruyff, to Lionel, to Puskas,
but ....
Diego Armando ......
If you are born in the 80's, you know there is Superman out there
A man like you and me, with strengths and weeknesses
Diego could be a friend of mine, caughting up on Mondays and Thursdays
The friend I've never had, but somehow I always have
The true goat.
This is what footballers say.
you have to see compilations of the idol of Maradona...Ricardo Bochini...that guy was fantastic...
. plus what he was in his life for people.. much more than a football player.. Maradona represent
React: Life is life Maradona training.
D10S, the bestest player in the history
I never knew this channel existed, nice
You should watch the Asif Kapadia documentary: Maradona (2019)
. he is the messi of our time.. for old folks like me
If you love the free kicks, you NEED to check out the free kick MASTER - Ronald Koeman, of the Netherlands, and Barcelona.
The Greatest of all time ❤
Maradona was (IS) the god of football, no doubt THE GOAT!
I know understand why Maradona is God
Magic Diego ⚽.
Newer Generation will never understand how good Maradona was.
People older enough to watch Maradona and Messi say Maradona was better.
The tackles were brutal most the tackles he avoids are red cards in todays games.
Maradona won league with a less superior team with Napoli against great Italian teams
Simply God
The neighbours toilet flush is priceless 08:12
THE REAL GOAT! GOD
Diego el mejor de la historia 🇦🇷⚽️
OF COURSE HE IS THE REAL GOAT!!.
Why is everyone so surprised with Messi and a lot more, when this GOD LIKE A PLAYER made it all before AND EVEN BETTER???.
HE CREATED NEW THINGS!!
Truly Maradona is the GOAT ..
THEN MESSI
Yes exactly the pitches where nowhere near as immaculate as they are today and quite often mud baths and they got away with fails a lot so he was heavily failed etc
Also he would have easily surpassed goal terms against pele for starters pele was an out and out goal scorer from his style of play as where maradona set up goals with his super skills and perfect pin point passing to set up goals and through doing this he could have scored a lot more than he did but was happy to not want to keep scoring for himself and set up goals for the importance of winning as a team when any opportunitys presented themselves rather than always wanting to score for himself
He also carried a team doing very badly and carried them all on his own to victories and won world cup on his own
He has also teached and influenced great players like messi etc
Yeah in my book he is easily the best to date
DIEGO ...ES DIEGO UNICO Y FANTAAASTICO
The goal against England at the 86 world cup was voted the greatest ever world cup goal.
Messi impresses. Diego excites.
Without Maradona was the best player I have ever seen. Back in those days there wasn't blanket TV coverage of football like now and no Internet so we only got to see him in the world cups and that made the impact all the greater.
THE BEST! 👑
