- I FINALLY got the exhaust system I always wanted for my BMW M4. The M Performance Exhaust is a factory produced system that offers a pretty loud note with a clean, smooth sound for the S55 engine. I think it is one of the best sounding out there and it is pretty light, especially since the muffler is made from titanium. What do you guys think? I agree except the g82 has more exotic and aggressive body lines and cooler taillights, but you can’t beat the f82 front end it’s perfect
@@jnow10 I do like the lights! There is a lot I like about the g82 but I don’t like how smoothed out the body is compared to the f82. I like the sharp lines, in my opinion, the f82 is more aggressive but that’s just me.

@Charles Watson I would put full bolt-ons on the car and tune it, but you can also put the midpipe only and it'll sound pretty good. If you can afford a full exhaust, you could get an equal length exhaust from Valentronic Designs, in my opinion it sounds better than the AA equal length midpipe🤔
I was thinking about EL midpipes but I kinda like the sound of the s55 exhaust note especially with that mpe or even the comp. Definitely a must cop, but $3500-$5000☠️☠️. People be hating but the s55 exhaust note has a resemblance to the e36/e46’s.
Agreed! Stock reminds me of the E36 M3 the most. EL sound E46 like. I honestly think a lot of the criticism comes from folks who 1) have not heard the car in real life and 2) have not heard the car over 4000rpm

is it possible to attach the m performance exhaust to the stock exhaust midpipe and use the valves from the stock exhaust instead of buying the midpipe and values as i got the muffler piece only without the midpipe
I also have an M performance titanium exhaust on my 2018 M4 competition. Personally I think its the best sounding system for the M3/M4.
I would definitely not go for equal length midpipes because it loses the M dna and characteristics, and sound more like a Toyota supra. What you have now is the exact what I have. 👌
Yep i agree. MPE is the best sounding for these cars hands down! No equal length for me i enjoy the sound as is. I did a secondary cat delete also and it really woke up the sound and added another level of depth with more volume

Great video! I like the shaking tips around the 1:27 mark :) I have the MPE exhaust with the CF tips on my F82 and I’m very happy with the appearance and the sound. Nice to hear all the sounds w/o being in the cockpit 👍

What’s up Omar, love the vids ! How do you feel about the lengthy exhaust tips ? Personally it’s not my cup of tea as it sticks out past the diffuser bugs me a little but how do you think somebody can solve that ?
the tips are fully adjustable. they're designed to stick out a tad bit to reveal the etched m logos, and also its ideal to have them in that position if you opt for a carbon fiber rear diffuser.

Why MPE on zcp and non zcp sounds different?
Even tuned non zcp with zcp tune with mpe sounds not loud as stock zcp with mpe

Should my m performance exhaust hold a lot of condensation, 5/10 white smoke on a cold start for 15 mins or so, and have discoloration around some exhaust tips but not all ? Like white sort of residue ? I’m fearing there’s a coolant leak honestly but it’s not thick smoke and definitely not constant or overwhelming

Where did you get carbon fiber tips for MPE? I got the same car for our son but 2016, same color, ton of fiber, MPE, etc. I’m jealous on your headlights :(. I can’t watch him driving the car without me having one. I told him I’m getting 2018 or younger model.

Exhaust sounds bad
Im going to change to M performance exhaust on my F80 because something came out of the stock muffler and I can’t figure out what was it. The car sounds totally different. Sound the engine only

I have the same thing on my M4 Comp with VRSF midpipes it loud ASF but you have to be careful because the 1st Gen usually cracks where the pipes weld up against the muffler.

Love my m performance exhaust but it has a crack in it and has a nasty rattle on cold start now. Having a hard time finding a shop that can weld titanium.. beware!

It's using the MPE midpipe. The system comes with the MPE titanium muffler and the Stainless Steel midpipe

I think that’s just a common thing with the exhaust of all S55’s my last M4 did it too and same thing with other ones i’ve heard
If you think MPEv1 is loud get the MPEv2 is what I have and its even louder : )
The V1 & V2 are the same exhaust 😂
@@SimplyCarThings there are slight improvements on them from what I was told by a M tech. i had my buddy compared his v1 with my v2, mine was significantly louder and more burbles. both cars were stock as well.

I have stock exhaust. Huge complaint is that even in sport mode there is huge variability in sound. Sometimes I don't hear much under light to med acceleration (as if flaps are closed). Other times I do. It's not consistent. I want to hear sound under all loads and even slightly just cruising at 50mph. Is this normal for stock in sport mode? I'm fine with quiet in efficient mode.
I had the same annoying issue. Unfortunately that's just the programming of the factory valve controller. the valve will not open up until you give it pretty much full throttle. I have since tuned my car with Bootmod3, and they have an option that allows the valve to stay open all the time in Sport/Sport+ but closes when in efficient mode and its so much better now

@@joeycipponeri7637 in this video, the setup was smog legal. now it isn't cause I added downpipes. The MPE comes with its own midpipe, and that's what I'm running

Just mine M4 four days ago. Loving it so far, and it's turning heads in downtown. It's stock M4. Which tune would you recommend for M4, for burble and exhaust setup? I was running Bootmod3 stage 2 on my 335i. Any recommendations?
If you just got it I wouldn't recommend any power mods... Enjoy it for it what is first... Trust me, there's enough power under the hood to surprise you more times than you can count

I cant help but 440i with B58 and MPE exhaust sound much much better.
The car looks so nice but honestly this car sounds bad no matter what exhaust is on there even though it’s a inline6. It just sounds like a Honda Civic. Exhaust note is what held me back from buying this car.
