  • Gain incredible ground clearance and uncompromised performance with Rough Country’s 6-inch Non-Torsion Drop Lift Kit for the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 pickup trucks. This innovative kit features non-torsion drop brackets which keeps your torsion bar cleanly tucked away, offering more ground clearance, better geometry, and a much improved look over torsion-drop kits which leave your crucial components exposed.
    A set of high-clearance crossmembers offer unmatched ground clearance, using an innovative low-profile design that gives significantly more room than other designs. This setup makes it easier to traverse off-road obstacles with no hang-ups, while promoting the proper geometry to maintain a smooth highway ride.
    This kit also includes durable lifted knuckles, differential drop brackets, and a beefy skid plate for superior protection. A set of rear, fabricated lift blocks provide rear lift with an anti-wrap design that prevents binding or axle wrap issues. Also included are a set of four Rough Country N2.0 Shocks. These Nitrogen-Charged shocks offer an amazing blend of smooth highway ride quality, and off-road performance. Includes Rough Country’s Lifetime Replacement Warranty.

Be sure to buy the better quality torch blades from Milwaukee or any brand really, just make sure it's a high end blade. I went through 3 of them. I have just installed this kit on my 2007 Silverado classic and it took me roughly 20 hours to get it completed. I live in Michigan so everything was seazed together and rusty. Additionally no suspension components had ever been replaced due to it having 50000 miles on it. I regret not sending it to a shop but in the end I saved roughly 1000 dollars that I can use to do other modifications. Looks amazing when it's done though!

      Today, today 9/25/19, i was almost done with the front end, when i installed the skid plate, I was missing 3 washers, and 3 locking nuts. So it's half way on right now. When I got to the cv shafts, the bolts didn't line up properly with the spacer for the dif on both sides, only 5 bolts were able to be bolted down, so will try something tomorrow, may have to open the hole a tad bit. When I got to the sway linkage, I'm missing a bolt, some washers and 1 locking nut, both are installed but not torqued down, just in place till I call RC tomorrow.
      I have a 99 gmc sierra 1500 4x4. 6" lift kit.
      I sure do hope the rear end doesn't become a problem.

It doesn’t help I did it in the Arizona heat on a driveway. Some things I’d say to help someone else is just buy some ball joint removers for the stock ball joints, and rent a 1/2 impact it will make your life easier, soak everything with wd40 and remember there’s no going back.

  • @northlanderco196
    @northlanderco196 5 ปีที่แล้ว +24

    I watched this video, and it was a little daunting, but my friend and I completed the job in a driveway with jack stands. It would have been very easy by comparison with a proper lift, probably cutting out time in half. We spent about two hours attempting to remove the OEM knuckle, as the ball joints were extremely resistant to removal. After two hours, we gave up on us lightly tapping and using gravity, and borrow a ball joint removal tool from AutoZone. With pressure on the ball joints, and less than a dozen hammer hits, the knuckle was free. Looking back, I would have wanted to install longer brake lines and do brakes and tie rods while we had it in the air, so that I could have just gotten the first alignment right. Center of gravity didn't change too much. RC recommends 17+ inch wheels, which I was not aware of, and I was a bit frustrated because the 2000 GMC Sierra I installed on came with stock 16" wheels. I had asked if I would need to change anything on the vehicle or if stock would accept lift with minimal mods. We also had to wrench a lot, where an impact gun would have again cut down on time a lot more. Cheers.

    Seeing all this cutting makes me scared so I'll probably just save up for a few months and have a shop do the lift and then align it so I wouldn't mess anything up hahaha.

      Dude I said the same thing but then everyone wanted 900 or more to install so I went for it myself. I did it all by myself with floor jacks and stands in my garage in 2 days. The cutting and grinding is easy, the only hard part was lowering the differential by myself, I just used another jack to lower it. then I self aligned it until I got to a shop, it's all easy man and you learn a lot doing it yourself.

    Its a good video though when you get the 6 inch kit. It does not have good labeling for what bolt is used for what. But I just finished mine. Started in the rear and then the front. Took about 2 days total. No shop, no garage, and no air tools. Just a drill and angle grinder and half my tool box laying everywhere. All in all its freaking awesome.

      There is a magical spot.. the metal around it in that area is thinner...u can try a b.f.h. or if you have a matco air hammer with a blunt tip anvil. Hit it....in my shop..we take a bolt of the same diameter and thread pitch...put two nuts on it so the one nut threads only half way.the next nut locks the first nut on...then know the hell out of the bolt head...this works for tiered ends also...hit it like a man...not like ur swinging a purse
