    Today, I purchased a 6-inch lift kit by Pro Comp. It has a life time warranty. The salesman said he and his co-workers also have Pro Comp lift kits on their trucks and they have had no problems.

      I have 6" Pro Comp's and really don't have any problems. 04 Chevy Silverado.
      Rough Country on 2011Chevy Silverado is only good if you install drop torsion cross member, this way you have more travel.
      Any and all kits should be installed with drop torsion cross member.

    I bought a Pro comp stage 2 6" lift kit for my 2004 F 150 in 05 and 2020 some squirrels ate some wires on my truck so i called a roll back and he broke one of the coilovers inbetween my house and the shop. I called pro comp and my kit had been discontinued but they sent me all new coilovers and rear shocks for my truck no questions asked. Pro Comp For Life.

    I think I'm completely turned off of the Rough Country lift. I tow with my truck, and I don't like the idea of "Blocks" lifting the back end. That will cause huge instability issues. BDS costs more, but looks like a much improved kit. Thanks for sharing.

    I know I was considering getting a BDS kit to work with my ICON leveling kit, but I probably would have stuck with a 4 inch kit. If I keep my truck long term then I still might decide to go that route, but since I've been doing more baby hauling duty lately I decided now wasn't the time to make it harder to get into the truck.

    I had a 6" rough country lift on my 4th Gen ram, although I never had any mechanical issues with the kit in the 6 years I ran it after about the first year and a half the entire kit was completely rusted out and looked like COMPLETE shit on my nice ass clean truck.. After about 4 years the rust was so bad on the crossmember there was literally little chunks of metal that would just fall off in my driveway under the truck lol... The shocks were completely covered In rust to the point you couldn't even see the rough country name on them anymore.... Again, the kit lasted and held up the 6 years drove the truck and the stance was amazing, I got compliments on my truck all the time, but the shatty quality of the finish on the RC lift components is what will keep me from ever going with RC again! This time around on my new 5th Gen I will 10000% be spending the extra money on the BDS kit... Noway I'm saving a few bucks to drive a nice new truck around with terribly rusted out components exposed to ruin the look of the truck!

    What about brands like Pro-Comp, FabTech, Super Lift, Tough Country, Rancho and last but not least RCD, I have a 6" RCD on my 2003 4 door short bed Chevy 2500HD 4wd with a Durumax diesel and I'm running 37" tires on it, it looks good and rides good and even with my super aggressive 37"x12.50"R20 tires it tracks super straight, I've had stock trucks that don't track as straight, not to mention I've only had my truck for 3 years and it came with the 6" RCD lift on it so who knows how long it's been on there and still it's in great working order! Of course I know you guys can't list all brands of lifts but besides Rough Country it seems like you stuck to expensive brands so of course they are good but whats a good affordable brand for us regular Joe's who can't afford to spend a fortune you know.

    • @shermellow
      @shermellow 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because Pro Comp isn't even on RC's quality level yet. They can't even successfully package their products let alone make a kit that isn't missing something or fabricated incorrectly. I work for a dealer and all we are insured to install is Procomp lifts and they are absolute garbage. We probably install about a dozen 6" kits on Tundras and about 10 6" kits on Tacomas a month. Once our insurance policy is up we will be switching for a different brand because quite litteraly EVERY single kit we have done over the past few years (hundreds at the point) has had something missing, fabricated incorrectly, misboxed damaged etc.

    6 inch lift from rough country is good. It just needs to come with new front wheel hubs and bearings because youll have to most of the time get new ones for the new knuckles that come with kit unless you have new non corroded hub and bearings. I recommend ordering some new ones because if you hub and bearings are corroded you will not be able to reuse an old hub. I think rough country should offer an option for new hub and bearings like they do with the different struts and shocks.

    You all have helped me from making a expensive mistake yes the last company of course makes quality kits and you brought the question to my mind and I plan to hit the trails and dirt so now my build is still the same just changing up my parts list choices to even out a smoother ride its a truck not only for work but hiding and chasing dirt in the woods.

    I have a 1997 K1500 single cab Z71 bone stock. Looking for 6” lift and the BDS is around $2500 and the RC $1000. That’s a big difference in a price! But is the quality that much of a difference. They’re both a drop down kit in the front and the rear is blocks and different nitrogen shocks. But a extra $1500 BDS lift kit is that much of a difference compared to a RC lift kit? I really can’t justify paying $1500 more for a BDS! If you are reading my comment ROUGH COUNTRY and BDS lift kit please contact me! I will do a install and ride quality videos on both lift kit brands!

    That literally didn't answer the original question, you just said the same thing as in your intro which was and I quote "depends in your purpose for the truck". If I was to be more specific and ask which lift is best for a $1200 budget on a daily driven 08 Silverado, which would you choose?

    What about Fabtech? I own a 2010 Avalanche LTZ. It has auto ride. I was told by 4 wheel parts the only company that makes a 6" lift for my rig is Fabtech. I love my lift it looks clean and very sturdy. But its not cheap at 2500 bucks.

    Just watched your video about about what is the best lift kit, I've just installed a 3.5 super lift on my 2015 Sierra 1500 and as far as the ease of installation and the price I really could not complain about it. I've seen rough country kits and the components seem of less quality than other companies,

    Why do some lift kits come with spacers on the front axles is this a benefit factor to widen your wheel track is there some kits that don’t need them spacer

    • @CustomOffsetsTV
      @CustomOffsetsTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      All kits come with everything needed to install the lift and work like Factory. Some need the spacers due to the track width widening.
