Just came here to say, this video helped me install the same lift on my truck. I did the entire thing on jackstands in my garage. It took 4 hours for the rear and 10 hours for the front by myself. I followed the video step by step and did not have any significant issues. If your thinking about doing this just make sure you got the right tools. I made what I had work but would have been way faster if I had an impact! Thanks for the video!
Im just finishing up a 7in install in the driveway of my apartment on my only vehicle. I’m in no way a mechanic, don’t even change my own oil. If you’re even slightly mechanically inclined, take your time and follow the directions you’ll be fine
This video is legit! Took me 3 whole days in my garage with the truck on jack stands! Just a heads up some of the hardware is claimed to be a certain size, such as the 12 mm bolts but there’s none in the kit. It makes it god damn confusing trying to guess which hardware you’re supposed to use cuz you could end up needing it later… I guess that’s what I get for buying RC though. All in all it’s not too difficult. Definitely invest in an impact for this job and a creeper if you’re doing this on the floor like I did. Maybe even a second jack for dropping the diff and the rear axle if you’re doing this solo, although a 2x8 plank should suffice. Good luck and thanks for the video man!
Another tip for those of you guys with a lot of rust would be to WD-40 the living sh** out of the hardware you’re gonna remove a day or two before starting.
Haha that's the magic of youtube🎬.. editing and angles!!! That kit took us 2 days to do in a professional environment and if you did it in two weekends that dope! Hats off! 👏👏👏
This is an excellent video! Looks good to me I want to put this on my 2019, only thing is my 2019 is a SILVERADO 4x4 LD 1500 I’m not aure if the 2019 ld and 2018 are the same or if this kit would work for my ld
Hey I just installed that kit on my '18 sierra but the abs cable in the front doesn't reach to the connection in the frame, what did you guys did to make it work?
You really can’t. You just get used to it and come in at a better angle. Park away from other cars so you don’t have to try to squeeze in, if you’re turning into a tight driveway swing a little etc. anytime you lift/ go wider your turning radius will get worse.
For someone who hasn’t done it before, doesn’t have access to a lift, and doesn’t have a second set of hands; this could take up an entire day, or even an entire weekend. Just having a second set of hands can help dramatically on time.
So my question is how much extra weight does this kit add to the weight of the truck? Along with new and larger wheels and tires that could be a additional few hundred pounds, which will cut down the mpg and also will add additional wear on the transmission and ⚙, this is a additional cost of expense added which I don't think 🤔, they don't take into consideration before the choose to add a lift kit, I haven't done this to my new Silverado 1500 truck I'm taking into consideration of the wear and tear on parts along with larger wheels and heavier tires..decisions..
Do these vertex coil overs come set at max height out of box ? Cause I have a 9” lift and I used these with a 2” strut spacer on bottom and even adjusted coil overs and still doesn’t sit at 9”

If you don’t have access to a lift and are by yourself it could take a day or 2 tbh. Wouldn’t count on it being a quick process unless you can fully work under the truck.
I have a 17 GMC Sierra with this lift kit... biggest mistake!!! Save lots of headaches and buy something better, trust me after 15,000 miles this cheap stuff starts to give you problems
Rough country is notoriously terrible. Good lifts don’t have you cutting stock parts. I bought my Tacoma with a 6” lift kit and it SUCKS BALLS. My only solution is pay $8k for a custom suspension or continue to get the crap that RC comes out with to TRY to solve the terrible ride, little to no articulation, and lack of ANY research and development on their monster lifts…..
Nope. I’ve installed all brands in this price range and they are basically the same. Rough country is not terrible. Maybe years and years ago when that chatter started but no longer

facts 🤘🤘🤘
The before and after on this is insane. Great video and awesome work by the mechanic!
Probably the best video I’ve seen on TH-cam
Step 1... have a professional do this.
Yea. Especially if you’re driving this as a personal truck.. I was going to do it myself but it more safe for me to bring it to a pro
yeah fr😂😂😂😂

By far the best video I’ve watched on this lift, I’m doing the 7in on my gmc and really wanted to see how it would look. Ty guys
Some things are just meant to be done by the pros! Definitely a great informative well detailed video!!
Man I’m glad the new Chevy is plug in play zero cutting on anything
uh what?
U made that look so easy lol. Albeit I only put a lift on a 95 with torsion bars and on the floor, took me two long weekends

How the truck ride ??

I read that you can do this without removing the steering. Is that true?
Where do we go for "factory specs"?
Hey I just installed that kit on my '18 sierra but the abs cable in the front doesn't reach to the connection in the frame, what did you guys did to make it work?
Great video however this video has made me want a lift in my pole barn more than a lift on my truck
I have the same setup, how do I increase my turning radius? It's really bad

learn to drive better
To much. But shout to these guys much patience
lol. Yeah man lots of hours in this video !
Arent the tie rods suppose to be cut shorter? Im trying to find that spec
So how long was the whole process from start to finish?
Couldn’t be more than 5-6 hrs.

What do you guys charge to install this kit ?
How much the set cost?
Damn bro you do lift kits too
I didn't know you could lift it with stamped steel uppers😮
How much did y’all crank up vertex to make it 7 inch lift? It usually come set at 6.25” right?
With that large of a lift is there any need for a different driveshaft or is the stock one just fine?
Stock shafts no problem 👍
What about the additional wear on the transmission and ball joints.?
Did you need to cut for drive shaft have clearance
Does the vertex struts go all the way to 7.5 an how do I set it at 7.5
By cutting the factory crossmember mount does that make it where you can’t install the stock suspension back if you want to?
yes. you would have to re weld it back together

You would want to regear the truck to at least 4.56 gears and tune for the tire and gear size
Having a difficult time figuring out why my sway bar is so close to the driveshaft anyone have any ideas
After this you can’t go back to stock ?
What are you doing about the upper control arm rubbing on the tire?
If your control arm is rubbing tire u need different wheels with negative offset
See why I should not try this my self how much would it cost to have one installed
Yea I think ima just hire someone to do it for me 🤣
Fr😂
Do these vertex coil overs come set at max height out of box ? Cause I have a 9” lift and I used these with a 2” strut spacer on bottom and even adjusted coil overs and still doesn’t sit at 9”
Did you figure out how to get back to 9” lift? Thanks
Does the stock knuckle just pop off the bearing assembly? Or does it need pressed out
It comes off as an assembly. No press.
What tie rod ends did you use?
Stock drive shaft?
Why would it still rub sitting up the high ?
Could I instal a 6 inch lift on a 1500 v4
What upper control arm and lower control arm is best for the high country lift kit?
I know this is an old comment but withe the replacement knuckle the stock control arms are fine! The new knuckles gives you correct angles
Looks dope af
What size spacer do you need to add in the rear wheels to make it even with the front ?
most people just add a 2 inch
2” spacer to have it even
Can we please get a link to what lift you used
Yeah I have to up date that link. But here it is! There will be a Price increase soon FYI.

how much for all this?
Do you really have to drop the rack and pinion?
I don't but the instructions tell you to. I do several of these a year.
Was gonna ask the same question, because it doesn't seems to be hiding any bolts or wire for the diff
