    I actually have about 25 hours flying Rivieras. This simulation is amazingly accurate. The airplane will porpoise on take off unless you have the elevator trim exactly right. Try different settings and it should lift off on its own. The actual power off stall is pretty gentle with the ailerons remaining fully effective in the stall. Great video!

    100% purchase. The C22 by this designer is a real overlooked gem and a total bargain. This looks like a winner too

    In spite of its oddities, I absolutely love this critter and Mario Noriega's older Caproni-Vizzola C-22J.

    I saw this plane in a book about planes when I was 6, the weird shape immediately left an imprint in my brain. After years of not knowing what this plane was called or anything about it, other than that very cool photo, you finally helped me find that out. Thank you :)

    I have this plane, and use the camping utility with it a TON. I can use it to just fly wherever there's a big enough lake (or pond lol), go up to shore, and setup camp. It's great fun!

    Thank-you for the demo sir! You did a great job of concisely demonstrating the capabilities and limitations of the aircraft. It does look like it would be a fun aircraft for a sightseeing tour of mountain foothills. As a “Yank”, the ideal place for flying that first jumps into my head is Alaska’s Denali National Park (between Fairbanks and Anchorage).
    The one nagging thing that I witnessed in your demonstration was how fast you had to run the engine while taxiing. In MSFS, it looks like it would be a balancing act with the brakes. Nevertheless, that is OK, since brake and tire replacement is merely a push of a button. But other than that, I totally agree; it is a well developed addon to one’s repertoire.
    Again, thank-you for the demo. I look forward to your next post.

    Very cool little plane. Very full featured. Looks like a bumble bee on the outside which might explain some of it's flight characteristics. 👌

    Mario Noriega is a developer I am happy to overlook the lower-quality visuals on. The features and fun to price ratio is astronomical for this and the C-22J.

    This gives me hope that we'll see the Airtruk someday 😍 I absolutely love the wacky, out of the ordinary aircraft

    6:00 Speaking of small nicely modeled airports, have you ever tried out Ocracoke Island Airport? It's called "W95 - Ocracoke Island Airport & Lighthouse" and is also free on the website you mentioned, and although there's not much to see at the real airport (which is maintained by the National Park Service), the 3rd party model is very accurate, with a lot of custom 3D models including a very detailed model of the Ocracoke Island lighthouse. It's much better than the game's stock airport and well worth a look.

    Nicely modeled wing floats, and the aircraft tips over to one side, as it should, when at rest in the water, which is great! I fly the Big Radials Grumman Goose quite a lot, and when it's at rest both wing floats are in the water, which shouldn't be the case. This aircraft doesn't quite have the range of the Goose, so I guess I'll be sticking with the Goose for my around the world trip.
    Based on this review, I just bought the Nardi. My only criticism is that I really wish Inibuilds didn't insist on putting their junk installation software on my machine. Most companies manage fine by just sending me a zip file.

    Another excellent video -- my compliments. This plane seems like one of the few (only?) you have reviewed that seems to struggle getting into the the air and stay aloft. Is it underpowered?

    • @jonbeckett
      @jonbeckett  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question - I think once you get up to speed it's fine - it suffers a little from being short, so tends to be a bit pitchy.

    Did Asobo touch up the water physics, or are they just made to work with this plane? That seemed much better that the "pulling off of glue" feel I've been avoiding.
