  • The Makgadikgadi pans national park is located in Botswana around 10 hours’ drive from Johannesburg in South Africa, 7 hours from Botswana’s capitol Gabarone and 1 and a half hours from Maun. The closest town for basic provisions and fuel is Rakops.
A special thanks to Edward Bath Overlanding (bit.ly/3ah09HJ) and 4x4 Ventures SA (bit.ly/2NNlQFV) for joining me on this trip and sharing some incredible footage!

Khumaga is a good stopover or part of a larger trip but I wouldn't say it's a destination by itself. Also just a correction, you can't actually book campsites at Injuca Hills anymore (it's been closed due to people leaving their trash behind unfortunately).

Cheers Christoff, what a wonderfully informative vid. Love those fire-side moments.
Have you visited the Tuli Block and reviewed the campsites there?
I've never been there, but have always been fascinated by the area.
Looking forward to your next one.
Please give my regards to Edward.
    God bless, Dave.

Christoff, one day your videos are going to become a major contributor in attracting foreign tourists to your region. Agree some revenue sharing schemes with the governments in advance ;)

Just a FEW simple "earthy" artistic things - cheap and at no cost - a place like that can be turned into a PARADISE. Encouraging, luring MORE people - more money - and more profitable for the park & its employees... SUCH A PITY that governments, people with money, owners and "so-called" professional planners ACTUALLY DOES NOT HAVE A CLUE how to let a business really GROW, flourish and sustain. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HONEST REPORT - I also think, from the little I seen in your video - It is NOT the best stay over at all.

I try to be as objective as possible when doing these reviews in the hope that anything negative will be addressed by the camp's management. Thanks for watching!

One of our favourite camps for years....BUT the domestic animals have been on the rise in the park for ages now as a result of the land dispute, a sad way forward for this park and the protected space they are supposed to be in. All too soon that park will be in ruin as people will stop going to it at all...

Yeah it's a real pity because it's beautiful otherwise
