I found it weird watching Moon and then later watching Y and seeing how much more natural the character looks in X/Y instead of having a huge blank stare.

Hop is my best friend and I routinely boot up the game soley to find him and talk to him as an NPC and then go camping with my pokemon.
Bede is a lot of things which involve explitives and I cannot be happier that I kept wiping the floor with him every time I ever met him. I've also reset before fighting him so I could beat him again because he's mean.

I personally like both types of rivals, so I'm glad SwSh gave me a friendly rival and a rival I had no problem with smashing into the ground.
I like how Cinderace's evolution chain is also the Evolution of a Football player, Scorbunny is the overly excited Youth Team player who is both literally and figuratively leaving it all on the field, like the bandage on his nose is because he broke it in practice. Raboot is the Young man being called up to the Senior team. So he's trying not to stand out and be heckled by the rest of the team. Cinderace is the club legend who has gone back to the youthful exuberance he had when he was younger, but keeps the more poised dignified air he had when he first got called up.

I think when you get to a certain high level you get an option that’s like “weak(insert move)” so if your team is to strong they can make your Pokémon’s attack just weak enough for the thing you want to catch won’t die

Why Game Freak took this out for all subsequent Generations is beyond my comprehension.
There's one Key Item that most people took advantage of. When I was a kid, the Teachy TV was THE item to cure boredom.
But now it's THE item to cure boredom in a completely different way. Plus, it'd be kinda nostalgic to see Primo.
Because it's not a good solution? It's a random npc you could miss, that's not a good fix. A good fix would be to make a short unskippable dialogue that asks you if you know how to catch pokemon, or even better like they did in swsh asking to the player to show that they know how to catch pokemon already
I agree with you 200% about the mythical pokemon. Their events in gen 4-5 were so cool. Now I find it pretty lame to have to bring my body to Game Stop to get the code

@@Roadent1241 A game house located in another country, thousands of miles away? Nintendon't do such events outside sout east asia, australia, north america or europe. If you aren't on those countries (like latin america, africa, middle east, most of oceania), you'll never get to those events. The only way to access those mytical pokémon is via cheating.
Mirai Densetsu no silly, like normal wifi that most everybody has in their house. Like for the shiny Legendary Dogs you could just download for those three weeks. Or the occasional Mystery Gift Wifi things you can get while just sat at home. If you can't get out to GAME or GameStop or whatever an equivalent is then still easy enough to make it accessible to everybody.
@@Roadent1241 Most of the mythical pokemon got released via wifi after their first event. The whole point of the system is basically "promotion" for participating shops by giving players who go there an advantage (even if most people only go there to get the events, some will actually decide to buy other things as well if they are there anyways). I dont have a single shop that participates in those kinds of shops in my area, but i still got every mystical pokemon(most of them multiple times), mostly because of those "second chance" events, or i simply traded them. Releasing EVERY event over wifi would completly ruin the point of those pokemon (especially without any sort of "quest" to get the pokemon like with victini)

In Pokemon sun I thought that I was Gary because I had the type advantage starter
But that was just chance because he chose his before you knew he existed. In the ultra games he chose pokemon months earlier. I think we're more of a silver and/or whatever the rival from the gen 5 sequels name was hugh?

Personally, I'd like another rival like Hugh. He was a good balance between the asshole rival and the friendly rival. I felt he was a pretty likable character for the right reasons.
@Kiera McCarron I liked Hau but I felt bad wiping his team with ease. It didnt help that he picked the stater you were strong against.
I agree he did catch an Eevee and i if you choose Litten he evolves it into Vaporeon

In Sun and Moon Gladion acted as your doushe-canoo (I hope I'm spelling that right) and Hau your friendly rival, so there's your one of each, and I agree with you to a certain extent, but Hau is just such a good dude and even if he is super friendly and naive, it's *AMAZING* to see his character growth

from what I understand, Dynamax is always against another dynamax pokémon (with the exception of 'raid-bosses') so it should be balanced enough.
If I am mistaken, feel free to correct me, but that is how I understood the mechanic.
@@miniman649 no you both can dynamax once a battle at any time, it's basically mega-evos on steroids. I think it'll still be balanced though since unlike z-moves you know what your opponent is going to do and how to counter it

Except they're not as overpowered as z-moves, and you can only use them in specific situations where the other trainer also has access to them, making them more balanced in competitive AND in the main story.

I never knew about shiny locking before this video. I have literally spent a dozen hours resetting my old copy of os to get a shiny kyogre... and only now have I found out it’s impossible to get a it outside of sun and moon ultra space... wtf gamefreak...
Because they’re a business and they’re going to capitalize off it. Notice how they do little events with Shiny-locked mons as the exclusive. Play around and give us a few non-locked, so when the locked ones come with events, more liked to get or participate in. Regardless, it generates $$$
Because they knew people would be dirty hackers, but they didn't want the game to crash, so they put it in the code anyway.

I agree with the mythical pokemon, even though it is technically a legendary the buildup to deoxys in oras made me cherish my pokemon even more

No trade only evolutions
No mythical Pokémon/events unobtainable within the main game
No requirement to complete the dex through more than the main game and version exclusive trading
This is especially tough since most people won't have 2 consoles to trade easily. If they make it to where you have to wondertrade to get evolutions it will be tough to complete the pokedex because you will have to buy the Nintendo online function to be able to trade most likely.

And it was even worse before then. It's really lame when there's obsticals like that in a franchise that has the motto *Gotta Catch them All.*

One change I would like to add is more character expression, especially in the main character. In sun and moon, my character is dull and boing in expression wise. When everyone is surprised, my character ether open their mouth slightly or just smile while the camera zoom in.

i kinda liked the thought behind the HM moves, the only thing is just that ot actually takes a battle spot. If we say that you could teach the "ability" to a pokemon, it won't take a move space, and it wouldn't change the ability of the pokemon, but it will shop in the cornor like a shiny, that this pokemon is capable of cutting a tree, or something, then it would be fine.

@@israellai There are 3 fire starters that start purely quadrapedal and end bipedal (Tepig, Fennekin and Litten). That's 3 of the 8 we know. Charmander, Torchic, Chimchar and Scorbunny all just bipedal. Cyndaquil is the weird one ... it's entire family can move bipedally and quadrapedally. Honestly, all Fire fighters are bipedal in some stage.
@@israellai in my opinion, if a Pokemon is already bipedal, then it staying bipedal is perfectly fine. Charmander, Torchic, and Chimchar are all bipedal. Their evolutions are all bipedal as well, and no one complains about them (in terms of how many legs they're on).
That being said, we do need another quadruped Fire starter. The only Fire starter that can go on all fours is Typhlosion.

Watching this video in 2021, my only thought (at around the 6:30 mark) is that having both the ability to switch your Pokémon out wherever you are AND no need to have HMs was an overkill solution. I like them both, and I see that the bike upgrade and taxi service was the replacement for HMs…but I also played in Gens 1 and 2, and I get kinda nostalgic for the old days every now and then 😅

I'm fine with Kanto references (although Kanto is referenced more than fortnite at this point) as long as Kanto doesn't get all the attention. For example, in Sun and Moon, all of the alolan forms were Kanto pokemon. (facepalm). That honestly frustrates me to know end! So many other pokemon could've had amazing new forms, but nooOOoo, we're to busy having a nostalgia boner!

I was surprised we didn't get more Alolan Forms in Ultra Sun and Moon (it would have made sense if they also HADN'T given us brand new pokemon too. It is kind of hard to say anything really.)

I agree with you when you talk about the non skippable cut scenes. I was at the doctors office getting my flu shot the other day. I’m playing through Pokémon X. I didn’t realize this, but my 3ds was about to die. I had just caught xerneas. But then the red light on my 3ds started flashing. Then they legit gave me the LONGEST cut scene. And I couldn’t skip it. My 3ds almost died before I could save my game.

Okay personal opinion I actually really liked z-moves because the fact that you have an impossible to predict move actually makes you more effective in a combat situation and it means that you can take weaker Pokemon and use them to take down stronger Pokemon.
But they should at least be a postgame thing.
I agree, yet we also have to be cognitive about the fact that every gen and every region has their own gimmicks in that area.
They will be post game the way megas were in gen 7 most likely. Even in the lore it is explain that Z moves were made by Necrozma's lost light that enter in Alola. So Z moves were definitely made to be fitting for Alola. If there is something that needs to come back is definitely regional variants which can be fitting for any region as it is a natural way pokemon adapt .

I'm honestly fine with Z-moves. The fact they are unpredictable is a good thing. Megas are honestly boring to me and are too predictable (Once in a blue moon, you'll be mildly surprised). One of the newest rumors for Sword and Shield is Spirit Armor (Which is similar to Z-moves in a way. Look it up on Pokejungle).
