Keep making these videos David! As many has said, its not just about making large power. I really truly admire those who make unique builds look so well.
Mazda compacts will probably never get the recognition they deserve. Between 1980 and 2002, Protege/323/Familias used a "self stabilizing" rear suspension (toe-in on the rear tire on the outer side of the curve), handles every bit as good as that can possibly promise. Independent rear is a given. The Mazda 3s, up to the most recent ones, same chassis as the Mk2 Focus and S40, obviously well known for greatness. Yet it's always gonna be just "some commuter car" because only a few low volume models had high power engines and I specifically mean high power, to emphasize that the less-than engines are still great for their purposes and applications.
Thats actually really badass. Normally I don't car for 3rd gens but this one is so badass. Plus not to mention it looks really good and it's Supercharged. That's so badass. And it also sounds really good too.
As a 2.0 NA 6 owner I am super happy to see people starting to look at the skyactiv platform, he is right in people spreading misinformation about the platform, most people don't know and just repeat what they ear instead of doing proper research.
As a Mazda Tech I can say: There aren't only 150 Supercharged Skyactive Engines in the World. 4th Gen Mazda 3, CX-30 and some Last Gen MX5 have all gotten the Supercharged Skyactive-X Stock and those are sold in decent numbers over the years. Plus we have a Regulare Customer with a NC and ND Miata, both aftermarket Supercharged. One is a Cosworth Kit when it came out and the other is by BBR.
As a Mazdatech you should know that the skyactiv X supercharger isn't there for power but to help control the fuel air ratio remember there is a reason they don't market them as supercharged engines. You are correct about the fact there are other kits available but none of them are roots type chargers and having a few chats with people running BBR GTI kits being a UK company it was easier for me to find information on them and the VT racing kits are making more power maybe because it's a Roots blower or down to it being bigger capacity to the centrals on the other kits Jayden is correct there are not that many in Mazda 3's being one of the 2 in the UK myself and Kris being the other and he's 250miles away it's not something you see everyday!

My mazda 3 was my first car I ever purchase at 19 and it made me fall in love and get into the car scene overall it not the fastest but it surprises and makes anybody smile who hops in I’m only stage 1 NA at the moment but one day I’ll be apart of the crew! And I’m in the FB groups it a pretty dedicated fan base! Also if he had a nice setup exhaust on it it would have sound so nice got a catback on mines!
2016 hatchback owner here, 100% agree with the bumper issues, transmission has been good to me too, but my engine not so much (bad rings), looking at a new civic si to replace it rn
I also am in co with a supercharged Mazda it’s a hatch 2.5 liter engine so a lil bigger engine and likely lighter. No other mods. Manual. It’s not the fastest car ever lol but it’s super fun. Justin tuned me too. 248 Whp. Still gets good gas mileage.
I couldn’t agree more that the Mazda 3 is a great first car. It’s my first car and I’ve owned mine for almost 8 years. I have the knightsports front bumper on mine and makes such a difference. For what it is it’s pretty fun to drive and it has that Miata spirit sprinkled into a FWD economy car. Took mine to the Malibu canyons many times on stock wheels and suspension and I had a great time. I’d love to drive a supercharged one at some point to really feel and hear the difference
Reminds me a bit of a straight piped Toyota Prius, just because of the exhaust note... But it's cool, I really like the car. I daily drive an Miata NB, that's why I love this brand so much.
This guy has a really cool car, it looks excellent! It's not mine, I prefer a little color contrast with the wheels, but I still think it looks cool. Dude if you read these comments, next time you gets one tires, try a step down on the width at the back. I am not sure if it is a staggered setup, it does look a bit wider at the back. It'll stretch the tire and you'll have to watch out for the curbs, but that could help you with back ride height adjustment. For hp and torque, maybe your tune will get finished. But after that, I would leave it alone as far as producing more. What you can do is look for ways to reduce rotating mass. Alu Harmonic balancer and pulleys. Ti bolt for the balancer. Ti wheel hardware. Rotors that are drilled or slotted. I would go with slotted. Less weight, vents gases. Good luck, cool ride!

I recently bought a 2018 Mazda 3 as a daily, my 2nd car is a 370Z with over 200k miles on it, it just parks now. So far I like the Mazda, and it is far better on MPG. But, my first thought was, could I make it just a tad faster? Exhaust? Air intake? This vid answers my questions.
I like the third gen hatchback the most after its modded. They look awesome! i wish it had mazdaspeed in the 3rd gen. the 2.5 is known to turbo better than the mazdaspeed engine but i dont have the kind of money or time to do this to one.
The 2.5L that people refer to as being better than the speed engine is the L5 MZR engine. This is the predecessor to the Skyactive platform. The 3rd gens with the 2.5L skyactive do not like boost very much as the rods are thinner and the compression is so high. Boost is 100% still viable with Skyactive motors, but both the mazdaspeed 2.3L and the non skyactive 2.5L will hold far more.
I would love to have you review my 2.5 swapped first gen sedan that i built 6yrs ago. Currently in japan for work so when I get back I would like to get your take on it. People forget that normal mazda3's can be fun too.
This reminds me of when I had my first car and wanted to build it. It was a G6 and had no aftermarket. So glad I bought a Firebird instead of modding it.
I kinda want to do this to my 3 but I am also kind of holding out for CorkSport's 2.0L turbo kit..... And money, mainly the money is the big problem but if I do get the money together, I'd probably go turbo because BOV noises and the 2.0L likes higher rpms.
"You modified an economy car!" EVERY Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Kia, or Hyundai that isn't an NSX, S2K, Type R, 350/370/400, GTR, Supra, FRS/BRZ is an economy car. Stop saying it like you're surprised he did it.
The past couple generations of the Mazda 3 look great; like something Mercedes would have done before they lost their way. Its nice to see people give this car the performance to match the looks.
I remember when the 2nd Gen came out, I got a Base Model Hatch 3, I wanted to do something so bad to it since I couldn't afford a Speed3. At the time there was not much. I never did anything past a Corksport Exhaust and a few small cosmetic mods, to this day (got it back in 2012), the car is still in the family with over 210k miles. I got it when it had 18k. Because of that iv been debating if I should throw myself into another Mazda, but the new one. Im considering a GTi, the Golf R, or a BMW Z4 or a M2. I do have a beater for the winter months and so on and for any hauling/transporting. Not sure what to do, adult in me is saying to get a Mazda CX-50 or a Nissan Frontier or something fun/economical, but my car guy/heart is saying get something sporty and non practical.
Nice 3th Gen Mazda 3... Very far on power gain on that built. Looks nice also. Congrats! And forget all the agresive gross comments it's all about been happy... I adore what you have done in terms of styling however I was expecting more HP since the Honda S2000 can make more HP naturally aspirated with some tunes...
I’m also from Colorado there’s this one really cool Mazda3 in my area that’s murdered out with yellow calipers. First time I saw it I literally thought it was the Batmobile lol
Not hating or nothing, this is a sick build. However if you’re looking for a fun, tunable daily that can handle 300whp on an un opened engine. The fiesta ST is an amazing option. Maybe 3-5K in all high quality Bolt on parts and you’re making 300whp and 330ft/lbs in a 2700lb car. Combined with the incredible stock ford suspension and the ability to still get 25-30+ mpg is awesome. Not to mention it’s a 4 door hatch back with a tiny displacement engine so insurance and gas is CHEAP🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I still own my Mazdaspeed 3 I bought brand new in 2011. My son blew my original motor with 145K. I have a JDM motor installed in 2020. 4yrs later i put 45K on this motor with a light tune. I love this car and cannot understand why Mazda refuses to resurrect the Mazdaspeed 3. I understand they're trying to go upmarket, but theres definitely a market for the Speed 3.
I wish we could do away with the emissions standards bs...give me a twin screw supercharged 4cyl, more reliable than a turbo, less underhood temps, along with no need for a 2-5 minute cooldown after done driving (after run pumps help but not much), and still get great gas mileage..my 2004 impala ss with a 3.8 sc v6 gets 30 mpg highway at 75mph with ease, wouldnt be surprised if the early cobalt ss models with the supercharged 2.0 lsj could get 40mpg highway if the 5th gear was taller...I'm currently debating to either coyote swap my 2011 3.7 v6 mustang or just get a morana racing gt500 supercharger adapter kit and take out the 3.31 gears and put in a 3.08 with 29 inch tires so I have both power and highway mileage since 90% of my driving is highway only
Looks great, Mazda makes good looking cars in my opinion. Just not much that really excites you ever since the RX7 went away. One thing that would trigger my OCD is the panel gap at the top of the front bumper with the hood. It doesnt line up there real nicely and my eye was drawn to it first.
Thing sounds nice, I really wish Mazda would do the MS3 with the modern 3 (but without the torsion bar like my 1997 Tercel had lol). I think the newer 3s from this^ generation onwards are such beautiful cars for a budget vehicle

Corksport has a full turbo kit for like 5K online. For the gen 3 mazda 3.
I kinda want to do this to my 3 but I am also kind of holding out for CorkSport's 2.0L turbo kit..... And money, mainly the money is the big problem but if I do get the money together, I'd probably go turbo because BOV noises and the 2.0L likes higher rpms.
3:10 "It's got a high flow cat now" FTFY.
Lol he’s so nonchalant about his mods. This thing is super unique
Beautiful car, wouldve been cool to see them partner with gr and put their 3cyl in this i bet that wouldve been a rocket ship
I appreciate the Mom signature on the fusebox tremendously.
Add a Miata to that list
Man when I had my 2018 mazda 3 there wasnt much mod support. Def would have kept it if i could have done this
Really nice car. I do miss my supercharged VW Golf, love superchargers!
The past couple generations of the Mazda 3 look great; like something Mercedes would have done before they lost their way. Its nice to see people give this car the performance to match the looks.
We should have a side by side comparison with the VT super charged and the corksport turbo also the 2.5 turbo
Miata and a versatune.
Man I had a rental speed3 and fell in love my goodness I moss that car
Thats pretty dope ngl!
That’s plenty of fun power right there. It doesn’t need to make 250whp
It's too bad that more people don't take a risk on normal cars like this. I'd love to do something like this to a new Corolla.
Nice 3th Gen Mazda 3... Very far on power gain on that built. Looks nice also. Congrats! And forget all the agresive gross comments it's all about been happy... No matter how much money you put on it. Money can't buy happiness.
You have learned a lot for sure on the process and that's the most valuable all and all. And It's your money not others. So fill here 👉 (F ....em all)
Enjoi life! Learn, have fun and keep it safe! 🤘
This is the kinda thing I love! I'm waiting to do this to my second gen 🧐
Im also tuned my Justin! Sauce tune!!!!
hey im preparing to get mine tuned by Justin. how was the results? u happy?
@@Jayphil1 The results are nice! my car is still NA so my tune is just a 93 tune. It has seen improvements in acceleration and responsiveness.
Comments drowning in bots, TDIB is big time for sure 😂
Sweet little build, looks like a perfect daily for a college kid
He's parting it out on Facebook as of last week
I have a mazda 6 and this video is awesome
As an owner of a 2nd gen Mazda 3 and 2nd gen speed 3, these car are insane
Now i want to supercharge my 2016 mazda 3 too
I adore what you have done in terms of styling however I was expecting more HP since the Honda S2000 can make more HP naturally aspirated with some tunes...
i have a cx30 and wanna do something like this bro, awesome platform
I’m also from Colorado there’s this one really cool Mazda3 in my area that’s murdered out with yellow calipers. First time I saw it I literally thought it was the Batmobile lol
Crazy that this video got posted and the guy is current taking the car apart
I like that whine 😁
11:25 the car nearby was filming right as you did a pull!
That exhaust sounds soooooo fkn good wtf
The loo of the dude just made me wanna bully him 😂
I still own my Mazdaspeed 3 I bought brand new in 2011.
I wish we could do away with the emissions standards bs...give me a twin screw supercharged 4cyl, more reliable than a turbo, less underhood temps, along with no need for a 2-5 minute cooldown after done driving (after run pumps help but not much), and still get great gas mileage..my 2004 impala ss with a 3.8 sc v6 gets 30 mpg highway at 75mph with ease, wouldnt be surprised if the early cobalt ss models with the supercharged 2.0 lsj could get 40mpg highway if the 5th gear was taller...I'm currently debating to either coyote swap my 2011 3.7 v6 mustang or just get a morana racing gt500 supercharger adapter kit and take out the 3.31 gears and put in a 3.08 with 29 inch tires so I have both power and highway mileage since 90% of my driving is highway only
Love my M3Turbo hatch a blast to drive.
As a second gen Mazda 3 owner, this thing is kinda sick
That was they most straight face pull I’ve ever seen at 7:35 😂😂😂😂😂😂 He didn’t wanna admit that thing sucks
Took my driving test in a 2006 Mazda 3, I loved that car. Mazda is so underrated but as a Miata owner and fanatic I am biased as heck
love the build, not a fan of automatic ... but this was pretty cool..😊
Love the plate.
just saw this exact car on fb marketplace for 8.5k sad its an amazing car i wonder what happened
DAVID! Come pipe some runs under our I-696 bridges here in the Detroit area.
I waited so long for this video😂😂
