The best advice that i learned from people is... Build your emergency fund first before you do or buy anything else.. I'm 23 and still in a process of building it. ✨✨
Friendly advice, emergency fund is 3 (min) to 6 (max) net income including your side hustle. The reason why it should not exceed 6 months is for your money to beat inflation. Emergency fund is placed in bank for easy access/liquidity, average annual interest rate of bank is 0.025%, while average inflation rate is 4% . That’s why, it is highly recommended that after you build your emergency fund, you should proceed to investment (real estate, mutual fund, bond fund, stocks, forex, so on). But with uncertainties right now, it is advisable to consistently build it up.
Noice content for the "comeback" ep. This is such a timely and relevant topic for everyone. Just want to share these 8 sentences on Personal FinAnce na I've been trying to live with. 1. Spend less than you earn: try to make more money 2. I have this article I wrote for our university magazine when I was in college. One of the tips I wrote was to record your expenses (kahit piso lang ‘yan) every month. In that way, you’ll want to have as less expenses as possible for the next month just to break your own record. 😉😁
Ang rule ko when it comes to money is to live below your means, pay alllll your debt as soon as you can para may pera ka pang-invest, tas syempre invest for retirement. (Edit: changed “my” to “your”)
They said work your ass out save up money and enter jobs as much you want in your 20's and 30's. So that in your 40's and beyond you can relax and use your savings.
You gotta start early as much as possible. If you learn how to save earlier in life it will become a habit. Always prioritize savings. Essential expenditures (utilities, food, ect), savings (if possible 20%-25% of your monthly or daily income). Luho should come last at least 5% deducted from your total savings so you have savings at least 10 to 15% left. And do not forget leave some for emergency purposes as well.
This is a good episode! Personally: 1. Build (and never touch) your Emergency Fund: Monthly net pay x 6 (to count the number of months in case of a real emergency) 2. 50% from your salary = basic needs (bills, utilities, allowance, groceries) 3. 30% = wants/leisure 4. 20% = retirement/investments Happy spending and saving!
Honestly same kame ni Jan about korean skincare. I started when i was already working. Wala rin kase akong pake when i was younger with my skin. So now when i do have the monetary funds. Ngayon ako nag splurge. Pero controlled pa rin ako with my spending. I only purchase what i NEED not what i WANT. Now im investing in the Stock market. While working. So double pay. Yey! Basta always think do i NEED it? Meaning can i not live without it. Otherwise its just a WANT that you can live without.

Thank you for this vid RCR8 team. As a 26 year old millennial, sobrang guilty ako when it comes to my spending habits. Having worked overseas for almost two years now, of course it came to a point na I splurged on stuff I didn’t actually needed very much. My mentality sa first year ko was save and buy the things I wanted-gadgets, clothes, atbp pero come 2020 and this pandemic happened, it made me realize how important it is to save and invest kasi we hear of stories of people na nawalan nang trabaho and are barely making ends meet especially this difficult time. I know iba iba ang situations natin but I will share how I learned to manage my finances with the goal of purchasing a property dito once maging indefinite leave to remain na ang status. Budget- yes I wrote down my expenses and of course accommodation and bills took majority of it. Good thing for HSBC may savings scheme na once pagpasok nang sahod, auto deduct to savings account na hindi magagalaw in a year-which then led me to make do of what remains. Times wherein petsa de peligro na, I would pick up extra shifts and use them para naman mabuhay sa next sahuran. Invest and get yourself insured- it may seem quite big to understand pero yes investing is a matter na very dynamic at may risks, on my case it was investing din sa shares aligned sa bank ko and though profit is not always big, at least gumagalaw. Insurance on the other hand is equally important- pa insure mo sarili mo because we never know what happens. Sa extrang £70 a month, i covered myself for work incidents and health conditions which, noong una di ko naappreciate but eventually I have seen how it works as a safety net for those na sadly nagkaroon nang mga job related accidents and/or medical conditions. Props to Jan, for highlighting on self care especially mental health kasi it is VERY VITAL AND IMPORTANT. I know Filipino culture still has to wrap around the idea that di pag iinarte ang mental issues. Yes, it is important to pamper oneself, recuperate and recharge kasi health at skills lang ultimate nating puhunan. And yes, I agree with Maui na different circumstances natin in life but never put down yourself if u haven’t achieved what others have already attained at their ages kasi nga we are working on our own pace and that is very much okay. To anyone reading this, know you are awesome and you are slaying! Keep shining✨✨✨✨

Naka relate ako kay maui.. sa fudzzz.... Nung smweldo ako ng times 2 compare s dati kong work.. I deserve it.. na kumaen ng Steak.. 2 times a week.. like Steak and salad bar.. hehhe... 🦄 Kapag sale ang bagay na ginagamit mo as a Needs (Laundry Detergent, under garments, Tooth paste, Socks, etc.) It is better na bilhin mo na sya.. let say na good for 8 months. Hindi nmn kasi cla basta basta na eexpire and you get to use them on their Sale Price rather than regular price. 🦄 Use Credit card: kasing syang yung points. When you use it to purchase things even in online, or even paying uo for delivery food or dine in. Yung points kasi na yun you could use it to purchase in the future.make sure na bayarin yung due amount on time. Like, you could set in your mind na bayaran sya every 15th day of the month, para ndi patungan ng interest. Credit card also is good for emergency like.. hospital emergency or life and death situation. Kasi may ready ng fund agad for you to use it up.

Hey miss this squad!! Tbh, as a 20byear old insecure ako sa ibang kaedad ko a year or 2 year older than me na may work and having their life. I’m 20 and still in college cuz of k12
Ako ang strategy na ginagamit ko this year.. from my income is 50% of that is for my Needs, 25% for the Wants, and 25% is for the Investments.. this year lng ako nagstart, and I could say na effective cya.. mas maganda rin na gumawa ka ng parang audit excel sheet mo sa mga gastos or future gastos mo at mga savings mo every sweldo, para mamonitor mo mga nagagastos mo.. (yan ako eh! hahaha OC..) but ok narin kasi naiinspire ka na mas lalong mag-ipon pag-nakikita nyo yung savings mo at mapapaon hold ka sa mga unnecessary gastos.. try it guys..
Sobrang enjoy ko ang episode na 'to. Been isolated from my friends for months now (like most of us here in PH). Pero with them all, I feel like kasama ko ulit barkada ko
Ramdam ko si Maui! First job, super splurge ka kasi pera mo naman. But as time goes by, marerealize mo how important to save for the future. Never deprive yourself but never splurge beyond what youre capable of. Build your emergency fund then invest! (Pero kung kaya ng sabay, gow!) Yowww! :)
Approaching mid-20’s, I always pay myself first and go by these spending rules with what I earn: 5% for insurance 15% for savings 20% for investment (try Pag-IBIG MP2) 60% for expenses (travel, YOLO, cc, etc.)
Abi Gail It’s a saving scheme offered by Pag-IBIG. It works like a usual savings account pero higher yung returns - investment, because you gain something in return. So you have the Pag-IBIG 1 for the mandatory contributions; then you have this Pag-IBIG 2. I’d say it’s a good place to start for mid-term goals.
J didn’t say he was trans plus I said ‘can’ meaning there’s a probability or a choice. I know that misgendering can happen very easily so I probably should have explained it further.
How to avoid unwanted purchase: Next time na maisip mong mag-purchase ng something (which most of the time is di mo kailangan), first isipin mong maigi kung kailangan mo ba talaga in the first place. And second, kung worth it ba yung item na yun sa pagod mo sa work. What I mean is for example ay may work ka na 200 pesos/hour, then may nakita kang item worth 10000. That's 50 hours worth ng work mo, di ba? Isipin mo kung worth 50 hours of work ba yung item na gusto mong bilhin. And please, please, please, EMERGENCY FUND is importante before investing or saving for your wants. :)
I just turned 23 last month and I haven't graduated yet but I do earn money through online writing pero wala pa akong ipon kasi pinapaayos ko pa bahay ng parents ko. Maybe when it's finished I'll finally start saving up for health care and for the future kasi internet connection lang naman talaga ang binabayaran kong bills.
A good banking advice that I did is make a bank saving account. While doing the contract make a condition of not being able to access it until you have reach a certain age. And make sure you put in a certain percentage of your salary there after you paid your bills.
It's cool to hear different point of views and advises. 😄😁
I actually do what Maui and Jan suggested ever since I studied abroad and it worked very well for me. Its so much earlier to control and see how much you save and spend.
As a panganay of a single parent and now working as an accountant, most of my salary went to expenses like housing bill and car gas and some for my food allowance at work. I made sure na at least 20% of my sahod will go to savings like sinking funds or paluwagan. The rest is for leisure or online shopping 😂 It’s really hard and mapapa’Sana all’ ka nalang for those na walang obligations 😓
the greatest money tip i got is if you find a thing you want to buy, take a day and sleep on it and if the next day you still want it buy it. saved me a lot of dumb purchases and made me declutter my room
@@mauitang3096 thats why i dont have the lazada and shopee app on my phone, been doing online shopping on a desktop computer so i wont get sale notifs 😂😂😂
My tip is focus on your skin care actives. Like Retinoids, Niacinamide, Vit c serum, exfoliants and a good sunscreen. For me facial wash and moisturizer you can easily find a good one locally. Pero a good sunscreen and an active that would work is really hard.

50-30-20 Rule 😊 I always allocate 50% of my income sa needs ko, 30% for my savings & emergency fund, then 20% for my wants. Make it a habit para long term sya hindi yung natripan mo lang magsave for a short period of time. 😁
started working at 21 and i'm 23 right now. i'm the only breadwinner of the family and helping my sister's studies, and I am still building my emergency fund + having insurance (cause we dont know what happens in the future, right?). it's so difficult but when I see my savings growing, i get teary eyed, even if it's at a slow pace.
This vid is super relatable talaga ❤️❤️ I'm attack 😂 Yes as 20's or after graduation and get the first job and you have lots of expectations na maaachieve mo talaga hayyss
me too, nag iba narin ung routine ko sa pag gastos ng pera dati puro sarili ko lng talaga at walang ipon, ngyon nag iipon na for future (insurance) and dagdag pa ung mga bayarin sa bahay kuryente, ndi nko nakakabili ng mga damit ko sguro 1 time lng for a year ung pagbili ng damit, then travel minsan. tpos ung pagdodota ko every sunday na lng ndi katulad dati na araw araw hahahaha.

For us na naabutan ng k-12 na in their 20s na parang we feel na we must be earning na pero nawp we r still in college!!!
GASTOS LANG! NO RAGRETS! 🤘🤘🤘
Approaching mid-20’s, I always pay myself first and go by these spending rules with what I earn:
5% for insurance
15% for savings
20% for investment (try Pag-IBIG MP2)
60% for expenses (travel, YOLO, cc, etc.)
Sorry For asking po ! What is pag ibig mp2?
Abi Gail It’s a saving scheme offered by Pag-IBIG. It works like a usual savings account pero higher yung returns - investment, because you gain something in return. So you have the Pag-IBIG 1 for the mandatory contributions; then you have this Pag-IBIG 2. I’d say it’s a good place to start for mid-term goals.
Alfred John Rueda thank you po! I just open my PAG-IBIG SAVING 1 and in FEB 2021 I can avail the MP2 .
maui speaks to my soul on a different level
MY SOUL IS SPAM

*MORE GAY LINGGO CONTENT FROM MISS JAN PLEASE*
Lahveet.
J Hahahahaha yes po thanks for considering.
J you can say ‘miss’ for gays... it’s just how it works
J didn’t say he was trans plus I said ‘can’ meaning there’s a probability or a choice. I know that misgendering can happen very easily so I probably should have explained it further.
Sobrang aliw and informative ng squad na to!!! Aaahhh!!!!!
basically if you really wanted a good handling money system, just identify your needs and wants! Just live within your means. 👌🏻💯
How to avoid unwanted purchase:
Next time na maisip mong mag-purchase ng something (which most of the time is di mo kailangan), first isipin mong maigi kung kailangan mo ba talaga in the first place.
NAMISS KO KAYO ON SET!!!
The rest is for leisure or online shopping 😂 It’s really hard and mapapa’Sana all’ ka nalang for those na walang obligations 😓
before watching this, i was listening to Joyce Pring's podcast about finances as well. Thank you so much even tho im still 19!!!
It’s really “live below your means”
Ansakit. Bullseye lahat sakin🥺🥺🥺. Ang Ganda talaga Ng mga contents niyo. True to life.
MAG PADAMI TAYO PERA GUYS! SUPPORT KAMI SA INYO DIN!
@@mauitang3096 God bless you more guys!! More relatable contents.
Pwede naman mag loan as long as you know the purpose why (to gain income) hindi lang para sa luho. That is good debt
17 years old wtaching here😂 Fortunately at 14 natuto na talaga ako mag ipon at compute sa allowances ko😂
nakalimutan yung online shopping this pandemic hahaha! thank you tho for the advice. still gonna tipid myself
the greatest money tip i got is if you find a thing you want to buy, take a day and sleep on it and if the next day you still want it buy it. saved me a lot of dumb purchases and made me declutter my room
Pero flash sale 😢😢😢 HAHAHHAHA
@@mauitang3096 thats why i dont have the lazada and shopee app on my phone, been doing online shopping on a desktop computer so i wont get sale notifs 😂😂😂
OMGGGG I LOVE YA'LL GUYS HUHUHU NAGMEET NA DIN SILA ULET
Good timing to post this! Dahil sa Shopee at Lazada wala na talaga akong pera. I'm broke!
SAVE YOURSELF HAHAHAHAA kaso comeback sale eh 🥺🥺🥺 HAHAHAHAHA
Title: How do you handle your money in your 20's
Me: I don't even have money and I'm 24.
My tip is focus on your skin care actives. Like Retinoids, Niacinamide, Vit c serum, exfoliants and a good sunscreen. For me facial wash and moisturizer you can easily find a good one locally. Pero a good sunscreen and an active that would work is really hard.
Agree with Jan, use tools (e.g. excel) to budget. This is to have at least a picture of where our money's coming & going (kind of Cashflow check) 🙉
Laking tulong ng Excel tbh! ❤️
Maui: *I don't believe in bitcoins.*
Also Maui: _endorses eToro_
STONKS, BINAYARAN AKO EH 😢
Meron siyang Web and mobile app. may charts din and may analysis kung paano ka mag spend ng money mo and you can customize the categories.
Helpful at napaka informative nito!! Big thanks!!!
My Dumbest purchase:
I bought 50 pcs of pushbutton switch from Shopee. Wala naman akong pag gagamitan. Binili ko kasi it's cheap.
Yessss, I've been waiting too long HAHAHA. Honestly since the day I started discovering this show naadik nako HAHA coz kahit papaano parang may set of friends akong nakakausap even in hard times. Ang ganda kasi sa feeling ng may set of friends ka na open na open when it comes to conversation.
Lab u, please feel free na maging friends tayo lahat dito. WAG LANG KAYO MAG LANDIAN DITO SA COMMENTS PLS HAHAHAHA
same hahaha
HUH GUSTO KO MAGLANDIAN PLS MAY CUTE BA DIYAN SLIDE INTO MY DMs @ONGIEL
50-30-20 Rule 😊 I always allocate 50% of my income sa needs ko, 30% for my savings & emergency fund, then 20% for my wants. Make it a habit para long term sya hindi yung natripan mo lang magsave for a short period of time. 😁
it's nice to have you guys back.
It was a nice topic to talk about... spend your money wisely 🤟🏻
HAHAHAHA MAGIC BA TO? ANG GALING NA 2 DAYS AGO HAHAHAHA
2 days ago?
Sir bakit 2 days ago yung comment mo?!?!!!? NAG TIME TRAVEL KA BA
This timely conversation on finance needs a part 2 😊
Tama din naman base life style dun sa salary mo but don't uprade your life style based on your salary
Na-miss namin kayo 🥺
Don't worry we're here to stay po ❤️
Ang fresh naman ni Einj. Is that the quarantine glow? ✨
Me while watching the unfiltered series: Napakatito ko na noh?
Literally purchased something I dont really need (but I want though) online before I went to youtube and click this video. Okay self, good job. 🙄😭
started working at 21 and i'm 23 right now. i'm the only breadwinner of the family and helping my sister's studies, and I am still building my emergency fund + having insurance (cause we dont know what happens in the future, right?). it's so difficult but when I see my savings growing, i get teary eyed, even if it's at a slow pace.
Proud of you sirrr 🥺
the comeback we all need✨✨✨✨✨
This vid is super relatable talaga ❤️❤️ I'm attack 😂 Yes as 20's or after graduation and get the first job and you have lots of expectations na maaachieve mo talaga hayyss
SPAM TOCINO ULTIMATE SPAM
me too, nag iba narin ung routine ko sa pag gastos ng pera dati puro sarili ko lng talaga at walang ipon, ngyon nag iipon na for future (insurance) and dagdag pa ung mga bayarin sa bahay kuryente, ndi nko nakakabili ng mga damit ko sguro 1 time lng for a year ung pagbili ng damit, then travel minsan. tpos ung pagdodota ko every sunday na lng ndi katulad dati na araw araw hahahaha.
Focus your savings for an emergency fund first. Then investments after.
